Lovely cottage in a great location

The property was very clean and comfortable. It is situated in a very quiet location with uninterrupted views over farmland from the living area, but within easy reach of the nearby towns. It also offers easy access to the main routes, making exploring the area easy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Garth Cottage, and hope to return in the future.

Cosy home from home with beautiful view

We loved our stay in Garth Cottage. It was very comfortable, warm (the local weather was sunny but bracing!) and well equipped and the view over gently rolling hills was incredibly peaceful. It was well placed for our family events in Durham and Middlesbrough and for lots of sightseeing. We hope to return in the future.

Holiday stay

Weather unsettled but facilities were fine. Found everything that we needed. DVD player issue was sorted promptly. Property nice and quiet but found the area rather busy.

We had a fabulous stay at Garth cottage.It was spotlessly clean, everything was perfect.We loved opening the living room doors in the morning, having a coffee and enjoying the views.Our dog loved the garden, she to loved looking out at the surrounding countryside. Sue checked in by text to make sure everything was ok, which was a nice touch. We enjoyed the Falls, we went to many of the suggested 'places to go' thst we listed in the visitir book.Excellent 4 nught stay, we loved it.

Prettig verblijf, zeker als je van rust en ruimte houdt. Aardige gastvrouw die je graag van dienst wil zijn. Huisje netjes en compleet. Het enige minpuntje was dat wij bij een bepaalde windrichting de autoweg hoorden. Mogelijk maken we nogmaals gebruik van de accomodatie.

perfect location

The cottage is great, it was very clean and unusually well equipped. We enjoyed the calm and quiet, the children especially loved the sheep right in front of the little garden. The location is well situated to have great days out, there is so much to do in the area. The hosts are very friendly and especially helpful.

Lovely countryside cottage

If you’re looking for a lovely quiet break out in the open countryside of County Durham, this is ideal. Also not far to explore places like Durham. Two bedrooms, each with en-suite suits a family group. Living room and kitchen are a good size with most of what you need (though note there is only a fridge - no freezer and no washing machine). Had a comfortable, quiet stay.

Garth Cottage

Superb cottage in a beautiful location, easy commute into Durham, multiple roads to choose from, journey time was 15 mins or less. Property is very spacious and comfortable, delightfully warm on arrival, nice welcome pack waiting on counter including a lovely bottle of red. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anybody looking for a great location.

Peace and quiet

Beautiful location for a peaceful, quiet stay. Lovely cottage but feel it needs a few little jobs doing to bring it up to full marks. Ideal location for visiting the North's attractions.

Home from home. just south of Durham

Good use of space and very well equipped, the secure garden kept our 5 months old cocker spaniel busy. Well located to tour the area and easy access to the Durham park and Ride Very peaceful with excellent views.

A relaxing break.

The cottage is lovely and has everything that you could possibly need. It felt very clean and safe. It was ideal for a break for my elderly mother who has mobility issues and has been shielding since March. Sitting on the patio watching the sheep was very relaxing.

Great short break

Garth Cottage was an ideal base for touring Durham and surrounding area. The cottage was immaculate, warm and well equipped with lovely views to the rear. Would have no hesitation to recommend it.
