Villa with large private pool, wonderful views, 15 minutes drive to the beach

Nous avons été très déçus d’entendre ce que vous aviez à dire sur notre propriété. Nous avons quitté la maison une semaine avant votre arrivée, nous sommes donc très conscients de l'état de la propriété. En ce qui concerne l'intérieur de la maison: au cours des cinq derniers hivers, nous avons consacré beaucoup de temps, d'argent et d'efforts à la rénovation de la propriété selon des normes élevées. Plus précisément, dans la villa et dans l'appartement: une nouvelle cuisine avec de nouveaux appareils, une nouvelle salle de douche et wc, une nouvelle plomberie ont été installées. De plus, les murs ont été tous replâtrés et repeints et le sol a été à nouveau carrelé. En ce qui concerne le jardin: nous avons consacré beaucoup de temps, d’argent et d’efforts au printemps et à l’automne, pour conformer aux obligations légales de l'Office National des Forêts. Un contrôle par deux agents forestiers ont confirmé que nos obligations étaient correctement réalisées. Le débroussaillement autour de la maison et de la piscine a lieu, comme chaque année, à la fin mai. En ce qui concerne l'état de la piscine: il semblerait que vous ayez eu plusieurs jours de grand vent et nous pouvons imaginer que beaucoup de feuilles ont été soufflées dans la piscine. Cependant, nous vous avons clairement indiqué avant votre arrivée que si vous rencontriez un problème quoi que ce soit, vous pourriez nous téléphoner, nous envoyez un SMS ou un e-mail et nous ferions de notre mieux pour le résoudre le problème. Nous n'avons rien entendu de vous. Bien que la piscine soit ouverte toute l’année, l'eau ne commence vraiment à se réchauffer qu'en juin. Même si le mois de mai a souvent de très belles journées, le temps ne permet pas toujours l'utilisation de la piscine. Cela se reflète das le prix que vous avez payé. En effet, la location de notre propriété vous a coûtés moins que la location d'un mobil home.

We are delighted that you all enjoyed your stay at our house and grateful to you for taking the time to write such a detailed and in our opinion fair assessment of the villa and its location. It is especially appreciated as it comes from someone who has clearly a wealth of experience holidaymaking in this part of the world. We try our best to keep the house to a high standard and for the last few winters have had work done to modernise it. A new kitchen was installed 2 years ago, last winter half of the villa was redecorated and it is planned to have the remaining half redecorated this winter. We hope to be able to welcome you back again in the future.

We were surprised to get a 6 out of 10 review. The previous holidaymakers who had left a few hours earlier had given us a 10 out of 10. It was particularly disappointing as you had written us the following email the day before you left which we considered quite complimentary. "Thank you for letting us rent your wonderful house. We’ve read your sms, rest assured, we will leave everything resoanaly and as instructed. We’ll be leaving the house no later than 11:00 in the morning, as agreed. We’ve had a lovely stay. The house is situated in an absolutely fantastic location, we only wish it were ours :-). What a view, and such a peaceful area. Are property prices very high in this part of the region? If there’s one thing we might suggest for future guests, it would be to consider adding mosquito nets to the bedroom windows. With no air conditioning and no nets, it gets quite hot at night without the option of sleeping with the windows open :-). All in all, a wonderful stay. If you ever invest in mosquito nets or air conditioning, we’ll definitely be back! Let us know…" However, just so you know the housekeeper texted us after your stay with the following complaints: - The holidaymakers went into my linen cupboard and helped themselves to 6 extra duvet covers, 1 extra bath towel and 1 extra bath mat. -1 hand towel was missing. - They moved bedside tables and pushed beds around. - They left the shutters and French windows of one bedroom wide open for anyone to enter.
