Disappointment

The location of the property is outstanding and the property manager was very responsive and responded in a timely manner. High marks there. The photos of the main living area and the main bedroom were accurate. Photos of the rest of the apartment, not so much. There is an area of mold about 30 inches by 5 inches (at the widest point) on an interior hallway wall. Paint was buckling and some plaster was on the floor. in the hallway and in the kitchen. Our son, who is a housing inspector, said this was an interior water pipe issue which is the responsibility of the building owner and not the property managers. There is mold in the bathroom shower and tub which an application of bleach would rectify. Bathrooms had a few cracked floor tiles. A coat of paint would do wonders for the apartment. A previous renter had laid a hot iron on carpet in the smaller bedroom and scorched the carpet. There were burn marks on a bedside table and in a couple of areas on the flooring. One small table had a cracked and separated top. Knobs were missing on the closet doors The hair dryer, electric tea kettle and TV worked well. We did not use the large appliances in the kitchen. There were no mugs for hot beverages. Overall, the apartment felt tired and in need of a facelift. It did not compare well with properties we have rented on other sites.We expected more based on the price of the rental - at least the absence of mold.

Let me begin by saying photos posted for this property must have been taken the day it was listed & not its current state. First impressions were bleak-ripped carpet in the apt building hallways. In the unit, dirty, stained carpets& drapes, bed size is misleading (Not a king) and the twins were crammed so tightly that you couldn't open the closet door. Floors were buckled from a water leak. Portable a/c unit hoses had to be hung out of windows, so street noise and bugs were constant. Unit is badly in need of paint and refresh. Dirty dishes in the cabinets! Microwave didn't work. We had irate neighbors pound on our door at midnight because water was leaking into their unit!! When we arrived we were met with a friendly host who dropped off the key and left without telling us anything. I had to request toilet paper, towels and bath mats for the dangerously slippery tub. Communication was confusing-Using the VRBO app to text the host who then passed the info to "his team" . We requested to be moved to another unit (because we couldn't use the 2nd bathroom because of the leak and we were 5 people) instead was told they would come midweek for a deep cleaning. They did replace the disgusting curtains but never even vacuumed. Washer-no dryer! Compare my photos to the listing and you will see why I don't recommend booking. Lastly, the day before we left, a fire inspector came by. He told us the entire building is not up to code and is UNSAFE! A joke to have a 800 damage deposit!!!!

Our staff should always provide full information to guests and remain on-site until all questions are answered, clearly, we fell short in this instance and I will be sharing them with the rest of our team to take measures to ensure this does not happen again. Regarding the comment about the building being unsafe, I only manage one apartment in this building, and we take safety very seriously. The property passes all inspections regularly every year. I have also confirmed with the building management, and they have confirmed that all inspections have been successfully passed, so we are not sure what this guest is referring to, that information is not accurate. We are taking everything else into consideration as we work to enhance the apartment and provide a better experience for future guests. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a much-improved stay.

Harrods across the street and many shops around so lots of shopping can be done. Choices of foods are okay but mostly cater to tourists. There is a Tube station nearby with many buses passing by. So, location is excellent. Basically there are mostly everything you need. They just need to be updated. Wifi had some hiccups, but was resolved in a timely manner. Responsive host. Thanks.
