My family stayed at this gorgeous property with two other families when we were all in town for a wedding. It was perfect. And we are a BOUGIE group of people with expensive taste. The adults jokingly referred to it as the "Call Me By My Name" house because it was SO gorgeous and vibey. It was also fantastic for families with small children. They had a highchair and travel crib. A playroom. A trampoline and swing set and play kitchen. Even the pool has a nice tall fence around it. We loved being able to cook our own foods and have a ping pong tournament and enjoy the outdoors away from the chaos of the family wedding which was at another location. Clara was helpful and kind and responsive and so welcoming. What an unforgettable experience!

We had a wonderful stay at Joseph's place. The house was lovely, the weather was great and Joseph and his family were all so kind a lovely. Clara was so helpful. We really hope to return after an amazing week

What a beautiful house and property. Clara is a wonderful and responsive host and the house which is many hundred years old is impeccably maintained. If we ever had questions or concerns Clara answered immediately. She and her husband even filled up a flat tire for us. The pool was delightful and there are so many private bedrooms where people can have their own space. We loved it and I would highly recommend this house. A great place for big groups to gather.

Superb location for multi-generation group

Very friendly host (and dog!) in very large and interesting property. Excellent pool and garden with shady areas throughout the day. Bar-b-q was a great success. I don’t think we ate indoors at all! Good Spar and small supermarket only 10k away, and impressive restaurant only 2k away in Orfes. Great vacation enjoyed by all 14 of us!

Wonderful 4-generations family holiday in a superb house

We arrived to a warm welcome from Josep and Clara. The house was well prepared and every bedroom comfortable and every bedroom had quiet aircon or a big fan. Great to have a large dishwasher and well equipped kitchen. Most of all, the large terrace which comfortably seated 14 and the swimming pool were the focal points for our stay. Thanks to Josep for being a wonderful host ( and to his son for sorting out our parking ticket)! Highly recommended and we hope visit again.

Fabulous family getaway

Fabulous property, although tricky to find. We had 7 adults and 6 children. There was more than enough space. Dining room and outside seating for 16+. Children’s play room was perfect. The pool was amazing as we were there during a heat wave. I would enthusiastically recommend this house to anyone vacationing with a large group. The host was charming.

Wonderful place for large family reunion

We were delighted with the large comfortable house, the beautiful grounds, the friendly owner (and his super-friendly dog). The whole place has a great atmosphere. Despite cold wintry weather, sun-soaked protected outdoor room for ping-pong was much in use. Also the patio! We made good use of the bicycles as well. And no problem cooking up good meals for 16 people in the well-equipped kitchen. The house was warm (well-heated) and there was plenty of hot water for everyone. Also great to have a long table in the dining area that seated everyone! An unforgettable reunion week, also for the kids (the downstairs playroom was a big hit).

Beautiful Gem in Catalunya

My family stayed at Cal Rajoler for 7 nights and enjoyed every moment. Josep was a gracious and kind host. He greeted us to check-in, and was so helpful throughout the entire stay, showing us around his beautiful property and how to use the amenities and suggested the local places to go for anything we needed. We enjoyed the peaceful interaction with nature (so many beautiful birds, flowers, trees) and completely disconnected during our time there. We loved being able to host our extended family for a get together on the porch with the beautiful views and sounds and had plenty of space for everything. We were also very central to everywhere (20-30 min drive to Banyoles, Girona, Figueres and the Costa Brava - it was perfect). You will fall in love with the house, the property, and the countryside and won't want to leave. We look forward to coming back to stay at Cal Rajoler next time we are in Catalunya. Thank you Josep and family!

Lovely area and great place to stay

Lovely welcoming hosts and a great house to stay in. It has loads of space and a lovely pool. The teenagers and others in our family group enjoyed playing table tennis and a few of us enjoyed petanque on the dedicated play area. My mother, is in her 80's, and uses a walker, was able to get around fine. There are a couple of bedrooms on the ground floor which meant she didn't need to use stairs. It's about 10 minutes drive to get to a well stocked spar, which had a good fruit and veg stall outside it on the Sunday morning. It's about 30 mins drive to beaches. We went to Platja de Riells in L'Escala which was a lovely small beach, easy to park and not too crowded. The bar on the beach was great and served fantastic food. We also visited Girona which is well worth a trip. It's a beautiful area, very quiet, and this house is a fantastic place to stay. Highly recommended

Amazing family holiday!

The property exceeded our expectations! It was beautifully presented and clean. Josep, the owner, was extremely helpful without being intrusive. We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone who is looking for a lovely large house away from it all! We were an extended family of 12 aged from 8 months to 62 years and all had the space we wanted both in the house and outside. The weather was hot and sunny but as the garden had plenty of shade it was not a problem. We managed a few visits - the ruins of Empuries and beach were excellent - also Besalu, Banyoles Lake and the Dali Museum in Figueres. Although the pool is not heated it was still warm enough for most of us! We also enjoyed the company of Pinxo the dog who came on every walk with us! Thank you Josep and family for letting us borrow him for the week!

Wonderful Vacation Villa!!

I highly recommend this villa to any family or group. The property is very clean, and everything (appliances, furniture, linens) is brand new. We found out it was just renovated this year. The family that rents out the home is very helpful and pleasant. As an athletic family, we really enjoyed the location. There are at least 20 miles of flat running trails around the property. The private pool is clean, very large, and has a beautiful view. If you enjoy hiking, the pyrenees are a short drive away, though we never made it that far since the hiking right around the villa is gorgeous too. For any family, this home is in a great location. The breathtaking beaches on the Costa Brava are 15 minutes away and there are lots of beautiful, small, intact, medieval towns within 10 minutes of the home. Barcelona is about an hour away. There are plenty of good restaurants around the villa. There is an excellent restaurant just 5 minutes away from the home at a nearby hotel. We also really enjoyed "El Club Natacio Banyoles" restaurant in nearby Banyoles where every dish we tried was exceptional. Though we did enjoy some nights out, the full kitchen and inside/outside dining spaces (there is a beautiful outdoor porch!) make it easy to cook a meal for a cosy night in.

Our group of 13 had a brilliant holiday at this property. The outdoor area was great, the outdoor barbecue was brilliant (even if needed in the rain), outdoor dining area was lovely and having a pétanque court, table tennis, a trampoline and play equipment was super. We barbecued each night and ate outside most nights, it was great. There’s a large outdoor dining table. And other seating too, if you need some space.The accommodation was top quality, even for such a large group. Plenty of good and well fitted out bath/shower rooms. 2 kitchen areas which were spacious and well equipped.In previous trips we’ve really enjoyed walking to a town each morning to get fresh pastries and bread. From this property you cannot do that. Clara was v clear at the time of enquiring/booking, so this was no surprise. You would need a car for shopping of all types. Orfes is - as Clara told us before we booked - small. Everything else about the property was superb. But if this is your thing, please make sure that you consider this fully.The road to the property is v quiet and safe to walk along. There are other walks from the property too, we understand, across lovely countryside.Girona was well worth a visit. Walk the city walls.We would recommend this property and the hosts were very helpful. Clara was v friendly and v helpful on all questions that we had both before and after booking and during our stay.We’d commend it to you if you want a rural, v quiet stay.

Génial pour une semaine de rencontre de grande famille sur trois générations

Arrivée sous la pluie de printemps, la première impression est très favorable avec une maison bien chauffée. Tout est parfaitement propre et rangé, lits faits linge de toilette à disposition. Belle tonnelle en fleurs et environnement bien soigné. Une flexibilité a été appréciée sur l'horaire d'accueil difficile à préciser un jour de départ en vacances scolaires. La disposition des lieux se prête très bien à la cohabitation de trois générations qui ne vivent pas au même rythme: grands parents et parents d'un côté et enfants de 10 à 18 ans de l'autre. Bonne insonorisation et facilité de circulation. Pour les repas: grande table et cuisine spacieuse bien équipée et dimensionnée pour les gros volumes. On a pu faire de nombreuses excursions aux environs et profiter du barbecue et ping-pong. Trop tôt dans la saison pour envisager la baignade. Josep et son épouse ont été très attentifs à toutes nos demandes de détails pour la maison et de renseignements et comme ils s'expriment très bien en français nous avons eu la possibilité de conversations amicales. Ils sont en outre très discrets. Nous avons passé une formidable semaine de vacances à Orfes que nous avons organisée pour fêter nos 75 ans en famille!!

Un petit coin de paradis.

Nous avons passé une semaine merveilleuse : plusieurs familles réunies pour une cousinade. Nous avions tout l'espace et les fonctionnalites nécessaires : une grande cuisine, des chambres spacieuses, des salles d'eau pour chacun, une salle de jeux pour les enfants qui en ont oublié leurs jeux vidéos! Le tout dans une région magnifique. Pour ne rien gâcher les propriétaires sont charmants! Merci à eux!

situation et maison magnifique

la maison est située idéalement en dehors des sites touristes entre montagne et mer, 20 à 30 mn en moyenne mais jamais loin de tout. Elle est fonctionnelle, très agréable, très bien équipée pour dormir comme pour y cuisiner ou se laver.. Il y a un grand jardin ombragé ou non au choix, une tonnelle pour se restaurer à l'abri du soleil, une piscine formidable, bref c'est un site extraordinaire, nous sommes partis à 18 et franchement c’était juste du bonheur entre ballades, visites, plages et piscine. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants, sympas, disponibles, serviables, souriants, parlent parfaitement le Français ce qui est un plus. en résumé un site exceptionnel pour des vacances exceptionnelles. Super séjour

Merci Josep pour votre hospitalité et votre merveilleuse maison. Nous avons passé un magnifique -trop court- week end dans une maison parfaitement adaptée à nos besoins. Tout était parfait, rien à redire, identique en tous points à la description du site. De la place, de l'intimité, très calme, bien équipé et entretenu, proche de toute sorte d'activités, idéal pour se changer les idées. On reviendra dès que l'occasion se présentera.

Vacances réussi

Très beaux espaces extérieurs et intérieurs. On est parti a 16 dont 2 enfants de -2 ans et on avait notre espaces perso. Les proprio sont très simpa et discret. La villa se situe près de beaux endroits a visiter dont une magnifique plage a 30 min (empuria brava). Vacances a refaire car tout est équiper pour sublimer le séjour. Merci aux proprio et n'hésitez pas !!!

10/10 – Excellent

très très agréable maison

Nous avons passé 2 semaines superbes! La maison est vraiment très belle, grande et adaptée pour 17 personnes. La cadre extérieur est super également : tranquillité absolue, grand espace, piscine, idéal pour les enfants et les grands. Et pour les plus sportifs, le coin regorge de sentiers. Vraiment à refaire!
