Perfect get away

This home will be our new home away from home for all of our Alaska getaways. Everything about it was perfect! We’ll be back, for sure! The owners were helpful and accommodating and the house was beautiful!

Lovely stay

Love the mattresses and bedding want to find some same for my own house. Fantastic and understanding hosts. Just wish had access to hoover to maintain the house. Overall wonderful and definitely know a place to look at renting for next time we come to Alaska.

Wonderful stay in the woods.

I stayed at Jeff and Angela's house in Sterling in July for a trip we had planned for fishing on the Kasilof for sockeye (reds). The first thing I have to say about the house is that it is very very clean. Second, I don't think the photographs do it justice--the wood interior is much warmer and brighter than the photos show (which I thought made it seem kind of dark). Loved all the touches like the wood sculptures and taxidermy on the walls--even the stones above the cabinets that you can view from the balcony. We caught fish (Ian from Kenai Fly Fish is the best guide in the area!) and we cooked up a feast. Fully stocked kitchen and a grill. Jeff was super responsive to texts and even told us the best location for spotting bears (which we hadn't seen yet). My only note is that the towels could have been a little bit bigger--though it in no way detracted from the joy of our stay. Kids loved the candy he left us.

This is a beautiful home located in a small development surrounded by woods. It is essentially brand new. Fine kitchen, nice bathrooms, very comfortable bedrooms. large living room with BIG TV. Nice but small front porch. Our overall rating is a 4-4.5. Our biggest problem was lack of Wifi. And cell service is very poor in the area so it was very difficult to get information or be in contact with anyone. Owners didn't respond promptly to questions, which is probably due to the lack of technology, or maybe the fact that it was 4th of July weekend. Our other minor issues: 1) no wine glasses 2) can only seat 4 for dinner at an island in the kitchen 3) if you can walk to the river we couldn;t figure out how- the river isn't far but we walked a hundred yards or so each way down the road and couldn't figure out a way to get there and there were no maps or written instructions to guide us 4) it would have been nice to know ahead of time what supplies were available in the house, as we went to the grocery on the way in and ended up buying a fair amount of stuff like paper towels, detergent, etc. that were already available. If you don't care about wifi/cell service or fishing in the river nearby then this is the place for you and I'd give this place a 4.8 out of 5.

I really would have appreciated a written book of home instructions. Having to call Atlanta, Georgia, to get info on how to use tv and internet. Home itself was lovely.

This property was the easiest booking I have ever had. Inside is super clean with plenty of room for families. Love the decor! Beds are very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Great lodging for our family of 6 consisting of retiree parents & 30’s daughters with their hubbies for 2 nights of our 9-day Anchorage/Kenai vacation celebrating our 35th anniversary. Owner Jeff was awesome with quick responses to a couple questions & generously allowed us to use a couple fishing poles but unfortunately season didn’t open until the day we leftđŸ„Ž Definitely recommend this beautiful, well-appropriated sparkling home in the woods.

Beautiful!

This property is great, and Jeff & Angela were very friendly and accommodating. We didn't get to use the fire pit since there was a fire ban for the state, but it did look like it would keep the heat in, rain or shine. I definitely recommend.

Great Home Base

This property is in a quiet setting off the highway a few miles (so no traffic noise). It’s ideally located for exploring Skilak Lake, Cooper Landing, Soldotna, Kenai, etc. It had everything we needed for our stay, was exceptionally clean and well appointed just as the pictures illustrate. Lovely! Highly recommended.

Great property. Great Location.

Comfortable and Clean. Beds were comfortable, and had all the necessary amenities to feel at home. WiFi would have been a plus, but we made due without. All in all a great place to stay after long fishing days on the river. Felt like home away from home.
