PerchĂ© au sommet d'une crĂȘte, nous offrons des vues les plus Ă©tonnantes des montagnes environnantes et de la vallĂ©e de San Joaquin. Si vous ĂȘtes Ă  la recherche d'un superbe moyen de dĂ©tente ou d'aventure, nous sommes l'endroit idĂ©al pour vous.

Notre propriété est également située à quelques minutes de 2 établissements vinicoles locaux - Sierra Peaks Winery et Riffelhof Vineyards. Sierra Peaks est ouvert 12 - 5 p. m. Samedi et dimanche de juin à septembre (559) 731-1960. Riffelhof Vineyards est sur rendez-vous seulement (559) 640-7477. Un peu plus loin en bas de la colline se trouvent plusieurs établissements vinicoles - Cedar View Winery, Kings River Winery, Maréchal Vineyards et autres.

Nous avons 3 magasins de proximité bien approvisionnés et 2 stations-service (un avec du diesel) à proximité pour tout ce que vous pourriez avoir oublié.

Veuillez noter qu'il s'agit d'un établissement non-fumeur et qu'en raison du risque élevé d'incendie, les flammes nues ne sont pas autorisées du 1 er avril au 1 er novembre.

The house or yurt is unique. Plenty of space especially if you have little kids. The view is amazing. It's definitely a place to relax. It is very remote, so plan to do a lot of driving. It also got very foggy on one of the days we stayed, and we drove around 5:30 pm. It got pretty scary driving due to low to no visibility. So plan accordingly. The same fog provided a magical view in the morning though. Will try to visit in the summer next time.

It was bigger than a solo traveler needed but I have no regrets. Beautiful location fairly close to the national parks. Some barking dogs but otherwise quite peaceful. I loved hanging out with the family of friendly cats, especially since I was away from my own animals. Easy check in and access. Would recommend to anyone, but would certainly be great for a family or small group!

Great place to stay, comfortable, cozy, but not frilly. It's well built and well designed -- a great place to hang out and cook! As some have noted, the park is about 45 minutes away, and it's further if you want to get to the backcountry areas (of course). That said, we had no problem driving in 3 days. Wifi worked great, helpful travel books are around, and the beds were comfy!

Great place to stay! Remote, peaceful and full of everything you need. Take time to enjoy the remarkable sunsets from the deck and head outside after dark for a beautiful sky full of stars. The home is well-stocked and has extras like rain ponchos, backpacks, maps, yoga mats and a cupboard full of spices, cooking spray, etc. It's an easy drive to Kings Canyon and Sequoia. The area is rural with winding roads so plan ahead. There are no quick trips! But the home and views are worth it.Check out Remeadies down the hill. Unique and fun place to try mead (loved it!) Larry was quick to respond to questions. Communications were great. We'd love to visit again someday!

Peaceful retreat

We stayed in the unique octagon house as a base camp for our National park adventures. It was a reasonable drive to sequoia and Yosemite. The views were incredible from the patio and our stay was peaceful. We especially got attached to the mama cat that visited our patio. This was our most favorite memory and made us feel at home. Thank you for a great and easy stay!

Great House, One Annoying Issue

The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. I really enjoyed staying there. The house had some folding chairs, coolers, and extra towels which were really nice to take to Hume Lake. There was also a really cute cat that lived at house, no idea her name but she responded when my daughter called her Stella. A note on the location. The location was exactly as described, but it is fairly remote. About a 45 minute drive up to the Grant Grove and not many restaurants at all. If I had stayed more than a few nights I would've definitely wanted to cook there. Being up on the hill gave really nice views and it was nice being isolated. I did look for something closer to the park, and I think this was by far the best option even though it was a little bit of a haul each day. The annoying issue: The only window coverings in the house were white sheer curtains and the house had a lot of windows. The bedrooms were on the east side of the, so it was very bright in the rooms by 5:30 waking us all up. Also, the cat's house was on the deck next to the master bedroom, a couple of times I thought there was an animal in the walls because it was loud and I didn't realize it was out there until our last morning. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, but I hope the owner gets some darker window coverings.

Home base to visit National Parks

Rocky Point is a wonderful home on the top of one of the Sierra foothills. The views from the decks and large windows made us wish we never had to leave. The proximity to Kings Canyon and Seqouia national parks made day trips to those parks convenient. The drives into the parks themselves are breathtaking, but even the drive through the foothills to and from Rocky Point are beautiful.Everything in the home was 100% functional, the China dishes in the kitchen are beautiful.

Stunning

Beautiful, with full 360 window views of the surrounding hills and valley. Quiet. Fresh air and plenty of wildlife. You go out on the deck and sit in very comfortable deck chairs and just enjoy a view you will not believe. Be sure to bring you cameras - you will be using them a lot. The sunsets are fantastic.

Off the beaten path

A wonderful rural retreat that takes some navigating to get to, but worth if for the stunning and peaceful destination. Large, well-lit open interior space with your choice of three porches overlooking the hilltop view. Fully functional kitchen with all necessary cookware and utensils. Looking for quiet evenings and mornings for taking in the scenery? Here you go. A family of acorn woodpeckers made frequent appearances in the nearby trees. Just watch out for the speargrass on the hill behind the house - any thoughts of climbing to the rocky summit should take that devlish vegetation into account.

We were here midsummer for a visit to Sequoia/King's Canyon. The hosts have GREAT communication and set us up well to enjoy our stay. The kitchen is great, the bedrooms are comfortable. The views and sunset were great! Highly recommended!

Larry and Merili reside in Fresno and manage to get up to the mountains as often as they can. Larry and Merili found their Mountain Gem in 2016, it had been vacant and very run down. They spent 4 months fully renovating the home and are now able to go up and enjoy. As busy as they both are, they decided to share this little unique gem and began renting it out as a vacation rental the summer of 2017.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

Larry's family roots run deep in the area. His great grandfather William “Bill” Clingan came to the area in 1911 as a Forest Ranger and in 1915 he became a District Ranger. During his life he lead parties from the Santa Barbara area into the Kings Canyon area for summer camps, was a member of the first road survey party from Grants Grove into Kings Canyon and built and ran the General Store and tourist cabins in Dunlap, which were later moved to Clingan’s Junction and still bears his family name. He was also one of the members of the committee that was instrumental in bringing electricity into the foothills. Larry's Grandfather, William's son, Forest Clingan grew up in the General Store at Clingan’s Junction and lived with the family in a cabin behind the store. Forest Clingan was a member of the 1938 survey party that surveyed the last leg of the road in the Kings Canyon area to Cedar Grove and beyond. He was a WWII Vet and a Naval Captain until his retirement in the 1970s when he moved back to the family residence on Hopewell Rd.
Larry's Grandmother Helen was an accomplished artist and both of them were very active in documenting the history of the area, publishing a book on the subject and giving historical talks to many groups.
Ask any long time resident of the area and both Grandparents and Great Grandparents are both fondly remembered.
