Two hours from Athens, ten minutes from the sea, a world away. The White House is our family's sea-view home in the olive groves of Ambelos, above Akrata on the Gulf of Corinth — three floors of light, built for the view.
THE HOUSE
The top floor is the master: king bed, windows on all sides, a small balcony, and an external spiral staircase to the roof terrace, where the view runs 360° — sea in front, the Chelmos mountains behind. The middle floor is the heart of the house: a fully equipped kitchen and dining room opening onto the big sea-view terrace, plus an outdoor oven. The ground floor holds the second bedroom (small double + bunk — best for children and lighter adults) and the bathroom with washing machine. Sleeps 6 plus a baby; cot available. It's a vertical house — wonderful for the able-footed, worth knowing if stairs are hard.
OUTSIDE
It's all yours: the terraces and rooftop, the garden, BBQ, covered free parking — and the olive grove around the house, 150 trees of it. Walk it, picnic under it, let the kids roam.
THE PLACE
Akrata's beaches are 2.5 km below (do your shopping on the way up). Lake Tsivlou and the fir forests are up the mountain road; the historic rack railway and Kalavryta's ski centre about an hour; the ancient theatre of Aigeira just along the coast — this shoreline appears in Homer. Open all four seasons: spring wildflowers, summer sea, autumn olive harvest, winter snow on the peaks while the coast stays mild.
HOSTS
We're a family — real hosts, not a management company. Your key is in the door, and we live nearby: minutes away when you need us, invisible when you don't.
