Landhuis des Bouvrie Koetshuis

When you come in through the wooden, art deco inspired door, you enter a private, cozy and romantic world.
The stone pink walls, rustic vibe, indoor- outdoor pool and a botanical, private garden with loungebed, complete the vacation feeling.

It is place to relax, unwind, get offline and immerse yourself in nature, peace & quiet and and an easy state of mind.

The Koetshuis is designed to slow down, be together or some valuable you-time and to leave the outside world outside.

The building itself is a monumental building from 1753, which we renovated to what it is today. The koesthuis used to be a carriage barn back in the old days, which belonged to the main plantation house, that is also on this terrain.
A place where history, nature and design come together and complement each other.
We, Marytsa and Jean Marc designed and created every detail of the house, including all the furniture, so everything is custom made and unique, to make it perfect and a one-of-a-kind experience.

It is an open-door space, where indoor and outdoor melt with each other.
The large glass doors can open completely up, which creates the freshness of outside, with the coziness of inside.
The living room and bedroom have ceiling fans for a cool breeze.

The Space is warmly styled, designed for comfort, with a home like feel- as if the house embraces you.

Inside the Koetshuis there is an open kitchen and living area, with a large lounge couch, where you can hang around, read a book or take a little nap.

The kitchen is an open kitchen, with all the basic modern comfort you need to prepare home cooked meals, so you are not obligated to get out of the house. It has a stove with an induction cooktop and an electric oven.
The fridge has a a cooling and freezer department.
The kitchen is provided with a water cooker and a Nespresso coffee machine for your morning coffees.

The Koetshuis has one bedroom, with air conditioning, ceiling fan sunblock curtains, a dresser and open cabinets.
Connected to the bedroom is the bathroom with the shower and sink.

Outside of the bedroom is the toilet in it’s own, separate space.

The Koetshuis has its own, private garden.
In the garden there is an outside dining area, a large double sun bed next to the indoor-outdoor pool and an outdoor shower surrounded by lush plants.
Flora and Fauna are everywhere and the chirping of the birds will automatically reconnect you with nature.
We kept all the old trees, that are there for decades already and build around them. They provide a nice half-shade, which makes the garden comfortably cool. They do shed some small leaves, but we did not wanted to compromise the old trees and her shadow for some falling leaves.

Pool:
The unique, plunge pool is in the beginning of the garden, over the full width of the garden, entering the living room.

The inside part of the pool has steps where you can lounge with a glass of wine in the shade en the outside part of the pool is in the half shade of very old trees and is superb to cool off.

Fun fact: The pool is tiled with natural, local stone from the Bandabou area(where we are situated).

The Koetshuis is located on the property of Landhuis des Bouvrie, where we, the owners, also live and host personally.
All outside of the hectic, touristic areas and a bit off the beaten track.
The most beautiful, natural beaches and nature parks are all on this side of the island. The nearest beach is only 10 minutes away by car and a supermarket, pharmacy, general practice, gas station and little bakery can be found only 5 minutes away by car in the little neighborhood Tera Corá.
