This 16th century cottage is situated on the marketplace, just across the road from Masons Court, the oldest building in Stratford-upon-Avon. Indeed both 47 & 48 were originally part of the Stags Head Inn, at the heart of Stratford’s medieval marketplace and reputed to have been the second oldest pub in town, so there is every chance that Shakespeare himself once drank under this roof!

The recent restoration has preserved as much of the original character as possible but added the comfort of a well-appointed kitchen at the rear with French windows opening onto a charming walled garden.
