We are new to hosting on VRBO from SEPTEMBER 2024. However, we have rented Casa Patinho for over 20 years. We are a super host on an alternative site. You will find our 5* reviews on other major platforms (such as TA and ABB). For example:

Located on the sought after country club of Quinta do Paraiso, Casa Patinho is just a short, scenic walk into Carvoeiro village centre where you can find a wonderful selection of cafes and restaurants, together with small supermarkets, bars, shops and a stunning, golden sandy beach.

The villa enjoys a peaceful setting in a quiet cul-de-sac with plenty of parking space. It is situated close to all the main amenities of the Quinta do Paraiso and is just a few minutes walk from the centre of the complex. Here you'll find an excellent Italian trattoria (which also provides a take away service), a Spar mini market, 3 large communal swimming pools (one of which is heated during winter months based on occupation levels), a poolside bar, children's pool, table tennis, mini golf, large outdoor chess board, tennis courts and scuba diving centre (tennis and diving paid locally). There is a fantastic animation team who run the kids club (payable locally) and who arrange activities throughout the summer season. There is also often entertainment at the Quinta during the summer months.

Casa Patinho has been refurbished inside and out and the extensive redecoration is in keeping with its Moorish style and is full of traditional character. The villa comprises 3 double bedrooms and 2 large bathrooms and a spacious lounge/dining area. There are 2 twin bedded rooms downstairs and the family bathroom has a modern walk in shower. A stone spiral staircase leads to the master bedroom which has an en suite bathroom incorporating a bath and shower. The master bedroom opens out onto a large roof terrace with beautiful panoramic views to the sea. Furnished with table, chairs and sun loungers, it is a highlight of the villa and an ideal place for morning coffee or evening cocktails!

There is a fully fitted and equipped kitchen, including a washing machine, microwave, air fryer, fridge/freezer and Dolce-Gusto coffee pod machine. The lounge/dining room has 2 sofas and a modern table and chairs dining set seating 4. Patio doors lead to a dining terrace incorporating a traditional built in BBQ, as well as a dining table and chairs for 6 and is wonderful for al fresco dining. A second set of patio doors open onto a small front terrace with a bistro set, perfect for morning coffee.
There is a new wide screen Samsung smart TV (Netflix etc) with many channels available via a firestick, as well as a DVD and DVD library and a CD music system. We have 4G broadband wifi.

There is a new water heating system for completely reliable hot water. For winter 2024/25 a new high efficiency 9kw log burning fire has been installed and there are stand alone radiators for each room if needed, as well as bathroom heaters. There is double glazing throughout.. There are large portable fans for each room if needed in the summer.

Cot and high chair hire is available to rent locally. We have a stair gate available at no charge. Maid service is twice a week. All bed linen and bathroom towels are provided and laundered by the maid.

Carvoeiro was originally a fishing village which still retains its picturesque charm and Portuguese character. It is situated just 50 minutes along the main coast road West of Faro airport and is set in the hillside overlooking its own pretty beach dotted with fishing boats. There are several other beautiful beaches nearby such as Centianes and Benagil.

The walk into Carvoeiro is stunning with beautiful sea views. There is a sandy beach in the centre of town from where you can take small boat trips to explore the local caves and grottos. There is an assortment of shops in the town, including boutiques and gift shops, as well as small supermarkets and a pharmacy. There are many large supermarkets just outside town if preferred. If you like walking, pass through the village up to the church where you'll find a scenic boardwalk along the cliff tops which takes you to Algar Seco, the stunning rock formations where you can have a drink at the Boneca bar to take in panoramic views.

Although small and intimate, Carvoeiro has many bars and restaurants for all tastes and pockets , ranging from traditional Portuguese to more modern gastro restaurants. All welcome children and offer children's menus. The town can be fairly lively in the evenings in peak season, but remains an ideal place for couples or families alike. There is now a fabulous Sky Bar above the hotel in the centre of town, or enjoy a cocktail or two at one of the beach bars overlooking the sea and watch the picturesque town light up in the evening. One or two bars have live music and there is often entertainment in the town square during the summer. Taxis are easy to pick up from the taxi rank in the centre of the town. There is also a small piazza called Monte Carvoeiro a 5 to 10 minute stroll from the Quinta do Paraiso with several good restaurants and a couple of bars.

Carvoeiro is within easy reach of Portimao with its harbour and famous sardine restaurants, the historic town of Silves, the Monchique mountains and 35 mins from Albufeira. Slide & Splash water park is 10 minutes drive, The Big One water park and the popular Zoo Marine with dolphin and seal shows are approximately a 20 minute drive. There are two golf courses in Carvoeiro, Quinta do Gramacho and a 9 hole course on the Vale do Milho development. The championship course at Penina is a 20 minute drive, Vilamoura a 35 minute drive and Vale do Lobo a 40 minute drive. Tennis can be booked at the Quinta do Paraiso, Carvoeiro Club and Rocha Brava. Swimming, scuba diving and deep-sea fishing are all available.

Portugal has introduced a Tourist licence system which by law is now required to rent legally. Our licence number is 15352/AL

Tourist tax (Taxa Municipal Turística de Lagoa)
From May 1st 2024 by law all guests aged 13 years and over are required to pay this tax. The amount is €2 per person per night during high season (April – October) and €1 per person per night during low season (November – March). There is a cap of 7 nights on the tax. Therefore for all reservations in excess of 7 nights, you still only pay the tax for 7. We are paying this tax on your behalf and it is included in the rental price.
