Loved Gift From the Sea!

This house was perfect for our family of 4 adults & 3 kids. Great view of the ocean & sunsets were amazing! 4 levels but w/ an elevator, hauling our stuff up and down was super easy. The pool was nice & refreshing. The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed the master suite...it was the entire 4th floor, therefore very private. We love the Cape...weather was perfect and the conditions of the ocean were very nice all week...yellow flag, but could have easily been green! We would definitely recommend this house & would rent again! Thank you for a great stay!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My immediate and extended family stayed at this gorgeous house this past July, and we all loved it! It is beautifully decorated, spacious, and right on the beach with private beach access! The private pool came in handy too for the times that the kids preferred that to the ocean. The view is incredible, and we would hands down recommend this house to anyone. We are hoping to go back to the Cape soon and will definitely stay here!

First trip to the Cape

Beautiful Home on a beautiful beach...

Reviewer Comments: I was very impressed with the home and the quality of the furnishings. It was a beautiful home. The one thing that I felt was not quality was the washer and dryer. Especially the clothes dryer. It was rusty and it was extremely beat up looking.. and didn’t work that well. Other then that.. the house was great. I do have a few suggestions though. They could use a few more hooks in the bathrooms.. maybe over the door hooks or something. And some extra towels would have been nice as well. If we flew to get here.. we would not have been able to bring our own towels. I feel that should definitely be included. I’ve had included in all the rentals I’ve ever rented in, all over the country. The house was beautiful though. However, it was not super clean when we arrived. Most of it was.. but a few areas were not. But all in all.. we overlooked that, tidied up where it needed it, and had a great time. I am a bug hater (especially spiders) and was so happy to say.. I never saw a single bug in the house! :). The beach was really nice! It was great to just walk right down on the private walkway. (Although... I did wish the shrubs were not growing over the gate and walkway... I did not like reaching into the shrubbery to have to open the gate. But still.. the house was lovely. My gripes are just minor. I did however have one large gripe... about the road getting to the house. It had a section that was sand... and it was awful! We drove a large passenger van that had a rough time getting through. It was so odd that they had part of the road missing and just had folks struggle through the sand. If I lived there, I would find that unacceptable.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was awesome. The view from the house and the beach were fantastic. We did have some issues. The elevator was not working due to a storm before our stay. We were told about this a few days before our stay. One night, a smoke alarm radon only went off several times during the night. There was no fire. The dryer would work sometimes and the not work for awhile. The jets on the NW side of the jacuzzi did not work. We had to rescue a rodent of some type from the swimming pool. None of these issues were detrimental to our stay but thought they should be mentioned.

Memories from the Forgotten Coast

A Taste of Heaven is a great house! Beautifully landscaped, Weber gas grill, hot tub, a closet full of beach toys/chairs, and plenty of seating and chaises for sun or shade on a lovely terrace around the pool are special additions to this property. The elevator made unloading and packing a breeze but it was also essential to on person in our group...4 couples. The kitchen is as well equipped as you could ask for. Since there are limited restaurants that was a real plus. Long Bill’s, about two miles toward the end of the peninsula is a fun lunch spot. We bought fresh seafood at the little seafood market on the corner just before you get to Haven Dr. The living area accommodated all 8 of us or easily divided for smaller, more intimate conversations. The white furniture was comfortable and clean. There were a couple of hiccups. Mon night one of the fire alarms went off for about five minutes and then began again for 20 minutes at 4:00 am. The management company returned our call and said they would handle it but couldn’t tell or notify us via text when someone would be there. A nice “dock and deck” man appeared later in the day. He said he didn’t know anything about the alarms but he took a couple from the house and said someone would bring them back. They were never returned. The AC required comforters at night in the front bedrooms. There was no air flow in the back bedrooms and the fan didn’t work. Fortunately the nights were cool and we slept with the windows open and without cover. Again the house, pool area and beach access are all great. There are a couple of details that would make it A+. There are no coat hangers in any of the closets. An unexpected trip to the Dollar Store in Port St Joe remedied that. As pointed out in the instructions, there is a small bath towel, hand towel and washcloth for each person. This is a special house but minimal bath towels were definitely a negative. We brought own extra bath towels along with Dove, Bounty, Tide, Dawn, etc. and beach towels. If you need anything, a “quick” trip to the store is 30 minutes both ways, so arrived prepared.

We were very pleased with the house; it was clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked as well!The management group answered our questions promptly and fixed an issue we had with the hot tub the next day like they said. The location was perfect for us. We wanted to get away to a place that was quiet, slow-paced, and relaxing... this was it!

Beautiful house on the beach with too many maintenance issues

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is beautiful and the location on the beach is amazing. The gated community it is in is great for privacy and is great for families with children as there are not many cars driving around. The elevator came in very handy especially unloading luggage and groceries. Unfortunately, we experienced many maintenance issues with the house. It is advertised in the title as having a hot tub, however when we arrived the hot tub was not filled with water and was extremely dirty. I was never notified the hot tub was not working. I called maintenance and they stated they would send a pool service person out the next day, we never saw a service person all day so I called again and at that time they told the hot tub needed a new part which would not have been in until after our stay. I don’t think the pool heat was working at all during our stay, we were made aware it would shut off if the outside temperature went below 50 degrees which it did get to the first two nights. We were told the pool should rise to 10 degrees warmer than outside temperature, however when the temperature was 70 the pool never felt 80. Also - the dryer did not function correctly during our stay, a maintenance man arrived to look at it, he said it was fixed, however when we turned it on it would run for 5 minutes and then shut off. With a toddler I specifically booked a rental with a washer and dryer in the event we went through too many clothes! They did offer a decent refund for the issues, but it was disappointing not to have the amenities I was looking for. Overall the rental is a beautiful house, in a beautiful location, but I may choose a different rental company next time. This was our first time at Cape San Blas, we will be back for many years to come!! Perfect Pandemic Vacation!

Lovely getaway

My husband, our two children and three grands had a lovely week at Calypso. The house was well appointed and comfortable. We cooked our meals and the kitchen was well equipped. We have no complaints! Loved our time and would go back!

Fabulous Family Vacation!

Beach Planet was a great place to shop for souvenirs. Coneheads 8020 was just down the street and the food was excellent. We had a shrimp low boil one night from St. Joe’s Shrimp Co. They prepared an excellent meal and we enjoyed it at our beach house. We went to Port St. Joe for several wonderful dining experiences. Ronnie B’s Steak and Seafood and Krazyfish Grille were delicious as well as Indian Pass Raw Bar. We all enjoyed shopping at Blue Water Outriggers in Port St. Joe and several really unique boutiques for the ladies. The guys went tripletail fishing with Capt. Carl Sheline and had a wonderful experience, catching well over 50 lbs. of filleted tripletail which were delicious when prepared. We rented 5 bikes from VayK Gear and the kids loved exploring. The local ice cream shop was a huge hit! The beach home we rented was perfect for our family of 12 and it even included an elevator which was wonderful! We had a small inground pool where we congregated in the afternoons and at night and also enjoyed the hot tub. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the pots, pans, etc. we needed to prepare our meals. In all, it was one of the most relaxed and comfortable vacations we have had. Thank you so much!

The private beach access, fabulous pool deck, stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture are just a few of the incredible aspects of the house. The layout of the house is ideal and keeps bedrooms off of the main living/kitchen area. Our favorite part was the three beachfront balconies. Cape and Coast was very responsive and a pleasure to work with.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third year to stay at Cape San Blas and the second year at this home. We very much like and enjoy this beautiful home as it fits our needs perfectly, and the proximity to the beach and the large pool area are plusses, as well. This year we had a couple of issues that needed to be addressed by management, and Heather took care of that immediately which we appreciated. In addition, we had a personal issue separate and apart from the home rental that Jordan graciously helped us with. Suffice it to say that it was a great experience again and hope to vacation at this home again next year.

Great Property

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was the most memorable week that our entire family has experienced in many years!! Working with Heather Haire to find the PERFECT home for our family, was the beginning of an absolutely perfect vacation!! Gift From The Sea lived up to its name in every way!! Our 3 grown children and their spouses had plenty of space to hang out together, as well as, retreat to for quiet time. The 3 grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the private pool and the close proximity to the beach! The added bonus of the rental equipment was unexpected. We enjoyed the bikes that we selected and the wagon was perfect for all the beach paraphernalia. Finally, the hospitality app made the whole process seamless!! Our questions were answered before we asked them!! Thank you so much for the precious memories!! We will be back!!

Truly a "Gift from the Sea"

The pool and hot tub are very clean; staff came twice during the week to clean and maintain the property. The layout of the house couldn't have been any better, especially for our 80 year old mother! The elevator made her mobility around the house so much easier. The property is clean inside and outside and in great shape. The balcony views are breathtaking. The Cape & Coast are a very friendly staff. I would 100% recommend this property, in fact, our family has already booked again for 2019!
