Things to do in Sjöared and the surrounding area

It is 10 km to Knäred and here there is a shop and Flammabadet, which is a nice outdoor bath. The law flows through Knäred for those interested in fishing. You can buy a fishing license at Lagan-Hjörneredssjöarna's FVOF. The fishing species available are zander, pike, perch, trout as well as bream and roach. Sports fishing has for a long time been a popular leisure activity along Lagan's shores. In the spring, the trout rise in the Lagan and fine shiny newly hatched salmon can be caught as early as the end of April. The salmon's migration up the Lagan provides fantastic autumn fishing with salmon of up to 14 kg and many catches of 7-8 kg.

The nearest lake is Flacke lake in Sjöaryd, which is 1 km from your accommodation, and then there is Tånnerydsdammen a little further away for swimming. Havsbadet in Mellbystrand outside Laholm is known for its long fine sandy beach. You also have Tylösand outside Halmstad. Both Laholm and Halmstad are pleasant excursion destinations with a large selection of restaurants and shops. You live very close to the Småland border and in Markaryd 13 km you will find Smålandet, which has moose safaris and is a nice excursion destination with the children. Take the opportunity and visit Gräddhyllans Lantcafé. If you are interested in cycling and hiking, Vallåsen is 32 km away. Kungsbygget adventure park offers summer tobogganing and zipline. Other excursion destinations are Store Mosse National Park and Isaberg/Hestra for those interested in skiing and hiking. The western town of High Chaparall is nearby.
