Black Bear Lodge donne une touche mise à jour à la vie rustique de Virginie occidentale, vous tomberez amoureux de la vue sur les montagnes chaudes et le bruissement tranquille des feuilles.

Benedict Haid Farm est une entreprise familiale ouverte, principalement pour les mariages, depuis 30 ans. Il dispose d'une grande maison de bois rond historique taillée à la main dans les années 1860 sur 400 acres, jouxtant 10 000 acres de propriétés corporatives non bâties. C'est un bel endroit pour s'évader pendant un moment, ou accueillir une petite retraite. Le bâtiment commercial le plus proche est à six miles. :-)

Pendant votre séjour, choisissez l'une des trois grandes chambres avec des lits queen-size premium, des terrasses privées et équipées de leur propre salle de bains privative. La première personne à la chambre des maîtres bénéficie de la baignoire jacuzzi pour se détendre toute la soirée. La propriété offre un parking spacieux, bois de chauffage, un barbecue à gaz avec gaz illimité, et l'utilisation gratuite de la station de recharge de voiture électrique.

Il ya un accès à pied à un étang, Margaret's Pond, à environ .8 mile de Black Bear Lodge. Vous aurez accès aux bois environnants, à l'étang Margaret's et aux terres agricoles avoisinantes si vous souhaitez prendre de telles dispositions. What a beautiful property so peaceful! The view from our cabin was amazing. The cabin also was set up with everything that you need including the gas grill outside.

Quiet and peaceful

This was a wonderful stay and so peaceful. We had three deer visit us our first evening. We sat outside on the decks and watched the stars. We hope to return for a longer stay!

The property is beautiful, it does not disappoint. The cabin is a perfect mix of old and new, it had everything we needed to enjoy the weekend. I will definitely stay there again when in the area. Check in was easy and convenient. The property manager checked in to see if we needed anything and was a great source of information.

While this was remote, the location is quite amazing! Perched on the top of a hill where you can see both the sun rise and sun set was the most beautiful setting. The rustic nature of the home was super cool with the custom chairs/benches adding to the charm. We had no real issues during our stay. The property manager was a super sweet person to talk to and provided some local tips.

Great escape

This is a beautiful property off of the beaten path, literally. No cable or wifi, so perfect to get away in peace! House was nice and cozy. Caretaker was very responsive. Closest grocery, Kroger, in Elkview, along with Tudor's Biscuit and Hen's and Heifer's. Enjoyed beautiful sunrise and sunset every day with watching the deer roam the fields. Worth the drive to New River Gorge Bridge for whitewater rafting. The Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine Tour and the Tamarack Craft Center was also a good trip.

Beautiful, mountain top, with historic charm

We have been avid VRBO travelers for over five years and this property is the most beautiful and unique. The home is reconstructed civil war era barn wood with updated kitchen and baths. It sits atop a mountain the the morning sun rise from the the front porch is amazing. The sunset from the back decks is equal in beauty. The acreage is mowed and very walkable. The interior is clean, comfortable and very well theme-decorated. We would recommend checking in by dusk and carry your foods and essentials for the first day, as the roadtrip up and down the mountain is about an hour quests who are not familiar with surroundings. The property hosts are very responsive. This is a must stay.

Great location for my 2 sisters and our husbands to meet for a weekend get away since we were coming from OH, TN, & VA. The cabin and surrounding area are beautiful. We had plenty of room…nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, cookware, dish cloths/towels…everything you need. You will need to take things like zip lock bags, foil, plastic wrap. We cooked all our meals and had a relaxing weekend of good food and game time.The only minor negative is that I had not received cabin access info from the host by Friday morning. I messaged him and he called me and gave me the info I needed and also to let me know the caretaker would stop by after we arrived to make sure everything was in good order. Steve, the caretaker made us feel very welcome and gave us a lot of history of the area. We all agreed that we will definitely plan another stay in the future.

Beautiful, remote getaway

Myself and three friends stayed here for the weekend. The location is lovely and very clean. It is, however, at the top of a long and windy road. If you are not used to driving in the hills, it may be daunting, but we got used to it. There were mutiple, old barnwood cabins on the property and would make a lovely location for a wedding. The caretakers onsite took great care of us, and were responsive to our messages. We brought groceries with us, but be aware, there are no groceries of any kind on site. If you want it, bring it with you, including coffee, spices and condiments, etc. There were challenging trails to walk, and beautiful scenery everywhere and wildlife to enjoy. There is NO WiFi and wireless service is spotty, so it is a great place to unwind. We enjoyed ourselves very much and would recommend.

A perfect get away

The 4 of us are life long friends that live in different states, and wanted to spent a weekend together. The Benedict Haid Black Bear cabin was the perfect "get away" location - clean, and well appointed, and the property and cabin views were gorgeous. The large building and house up the road looked to be perfect for a wedding. I highly recommend the Benedict Haid property.

Wonderful place to get away...

Such a sweet place to get away, and get away you do! Once you have made the interesting trek up you won't want to leave, because it wraps you in comfort and beauty, with a gorgeous spacious structure built with integrity, beautiful grounds, and the backdrop of the West Virginia mountains. There are beautiful sleighbeds in each room, a lovely kitchen, interesting art pieces and a large inviting fireplace. Watch the sun set on the back bedroom deck, and rise on the front porch and enjoy watching the deer and birds. This property is close to hiking trails and Charleston is nearby with some interesting looking shops and restaurants. Upon arrival Steven was welcoming and helpful in answering questions, and the owner Emmett was quick to respond to inquiries as well. Highly recommended...

Calm and peaceful

The property was just as it appeared online. Be prepared to take your time driving up the mountain, the roads are narrow and there are several blind curves. Once on top the views are great! about 20 to 30 minute drive into Charlottesville if you want to get into the city. Gas grill and everything you need to prepare meals on site. We did discover a small pizza place called Lola's. Highly recommend. We plan on going back some time to view the fall color.

Peaceful and relaxing

Very nice property on top of the hill with beautiful views in any direction. It was very relaxing watching the wildlife from the porch. The house was very clean and accommodating. Even though we were out on the motorcycles most of the day we enjoyed every moment at the house. The caretaker of the property was very helpful and polite. We would definitely stay there again if we were going to be in the area and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice and quiet house with a view!

Wonderful Country Property

Our stay was wonderful. It is quiet and peaceful out in the country. It's a little ways off the beaten path. It's probably not necessary but I would recommend AWD if you are staying when snow is on the ground. House was very clean and check in was a breeze. The pictures were spot on. The EV charger attached to the nearby garage is a nice perk. Only complaint was that there was no coffee for the kuerig or regular coffee pot. If you are a coffee drinker then bring your own beans. I would recommend this if you are staying in the area.
