Visit Pevensey Castle (4 miles) and explore the 1066 Country Walk which starts here and passes Herstmonceux Castle, the historic 1066 Battle Abbey and Battlefield, medieval Winchelsea, ending in Rye. History buffs will enjoy Herstmonceux Castle (8.5 miles), while coastal aficionados will enjoy Eastbourne's seaside resort and Sovereign Harbour (5 miles). For a fun day out, The Observatory Science Centre (10 miles) offers interactive exhibits, telescope tours, shows and stargazing evenings. The seaside town of Bexhill-on-Sea is only 11 miles away and has vintage shops, independent cafes and restaurants, and a vibrant art scene.
