Sammy Hakes Cottage offers a first-floor open-plan living area with kitchen, dining and sitting space, equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, kettle, coffee maker and TV. The ground-floor has a double bedroom and shower room. Outside is a private patio overlooking the harbour and the lighthouse. No pets or smoking. Children over 10 welcome. Shop, pub and beach 0.1 mile. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels included. 150 GBP Good Housekeeping Bond. Car parking available behind the house.

There are superb walks along the coast from Watchet, while towards St Audries in the east, the Quantock Hills rise to 1,000 feet above the sea and the Brendon Hills and Exmoor are to the west, within easy reach. Explore the many pretty coastal and inland villages including Porlock, with its steep hill and pretty winding streets, Dunster with its dramatic castle perched above the historic village and the busy resort of Minehead with its sandy beach, golf course and traditional seaside attractions.
