Design villa between two seas and calm

Bunker House sits next to the Punta Carnero Lighthouse in the Estrecho Natural Park, where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean meet and Europe almost touches Africa. The views span more than 180 degrees and take in Gibraltar, Ceuta, Mount Musa and Tangier. Days begin with the sunrise over the sea and end under a starry sky, accompanied by the sound of the waves and the wind from the Strait.



The rooms are open and airy, featuring natural materials and soft tones inspired by Mediterranean living. Light fills the house throughout the day, constantly connecting the interior with the surrounding landscape. In the garden stands an old military bunker, a silent witness to the strategic history of the Strait of Gibraltar, which gives the place a character found in few other places.



Outside, there’s a terrace for breakfast overlooking the sea, quiet corners for reading or practising yoga, and gardens that blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural landscape. From the coast, you can kayak along the cliffs, snorkel in crystal-clear waters, or try windsurfing and kitesurfing in Getares or Tarifa.



The Strait Natural Park offers coastal trails and bird-watching lookouts with panoramic views of the Strait. In the sea, dolphins, pilot whales, and sperm whales swim through these waters every season. Valdevaqueros, Punta Paloma, and Bolonia are favourite beaches for spending quiet afternoons, and Tarifa’s old town and its long beaches are well worth a visit.
