Maison en rondins de 3 chambres dans un bois au cƓur du Highland Perthshire

Il s'agit d'une maison en bois rond de trois chambres située dans un bois à la périphérie du village historique de Kirkmichael, dans la vallée de Strathardle, dans les collines entre Pitlochry et Blairgowrie.

Il a une grande cuisine / salle à manger / salon avec une cuisine bien équipée avec four / plaque de cuisson, micro-ondes, lave-vaisselle, réfrigérateur et congélateur et lave-linge (plus un sÚche-linge dans la salle de bains privative).

Le salon comprend de nombreux siĂšges autour d'une cheminĂ©e Ă  foyer ouvert, une tĂ©lĂ©vision avec chaĂźnes satellite gratuites et un lecteur DVD / Blu-Ray, ainsi qu'un lecteur CD. Il y a des livres, des jeux et des DVD sur les Ă©tagĂšres, alors aidez-vous, ainsi que des photos et d'autres touches personnelles pour lui donner un sentiment de maison. Et l'ensemble donne Ă  travers de grandes portes-fenĂȘtres sur un patio pavĂ©, le foyer avec ses tabourets en rondins et la forĂȘt ouverte au-delĂ .

Il y a trois chambres: une spacieuse chambre principale avec un lit super king-size (qui peut ĂȘtre dĂ©tachĂ© pour faire deux lits simples), un feu Ă  flamme vive pour une humeur supplĂ©mentaire et une salle de bains privative (avec chauffage au sol pour votre confort); une chambre double; et une chambre avec lits superposĂ©s avec lit gigogne supplĂ©mentaire (tous de taille simple), ainsi que d'autres jeux et jouets pour les enfants. Tous ont un espace de rangement / penderie gĂ©nĂ©reux.

Il y a une salle de bain-douche supplémentaire à cÎté du couloir principal.

Dehors, il y a une grande allée de gravier et un port de voiture avec un grand parking (et plus à proximité). Il y a une terrasse pavée avec une grande table de pique-nique, un foyer extérieur et également une petite maison de jeux pour enfants.

Il est situé dans un site de 4, 4 acres avec un mélange d'herbe, de rochers, d'arbres et d'arbustes descendant vers un ruisseau, ombragé dans une grande zone de bois ouverts et de landes autour.

9 of us had a fantastic time at Richard's cabin. It's a beautiful, cosy and spacious home in an unbelievably beautiful place. Richard was very helpful and made the whole thing very easy. Will definitely stay here again.

Amazing hide away

What an absolutely perfect place! The lodge had everything we needed for the big and little kids. It was warm and cozy. The kids playhouse in the garden and the burn at the bottom of the garden made their weekend. There were toys and DVDs. We will definitely come back!

A lovely, cozy, quaint cabin stay

This was exactly what we were looking for. Such a lovley cabin in a wonderful quiet place in the woods. Richard the host was very helpful and responsive. The place was clean and cosy with a lovely wood fireplace. Not far either from the town of pitlochry which was a great place to see and explore. Cant reccomend this stay enough and we would be very keen to return!

Wee get away

The cabin was easy to get to, with the directions. Cabin was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable And the sitting room. It took a bit of time to get the cooker and oven to work, but once you did it was easy. It was a nice relaxing time. The weather was wet but we managed to get some walking done with Winston the dog

Magical location

Our first reaction on entering was that the cabin was amazing and had a lovely aura about it. Over the week the feeling didn't diminish. Half way between Blairgowrie and pitlochry it was the perfect location for exploring. Lots of wildlife......roe deer, dragon flies, mining bees, flying ants, frogs, wrens, buzzards......all added to the enjoyment of our stay. The weather was also fantastic and too hot for midges. I must admit, I was happy to go home and get a comfy seat but a small price to pay for perfection.Apologies for leaving the dishwasher to empty.

Beautiful cabin located in an amazing location!

I wasn’t sure about Richard’s cabin when I read some of the reviews here, but the moment I saw the place, I realised it was perhaps one of the best cabins I’ve ever picked! We stayed there for two nights, and none of us wanted to leave! In fact, I am going to book it again. Cosy and warm cabin with unique surroundings, the only things we could hear were birds tweeting and deer walking around. A fireplace outside the cabin and a log burner inside, well-equipped kitchen, good size bedrooms,
. I’ve also had no problem with phone signals (I am on EE).

Nice, but auld

The shack itself is lovely and is located in a beautiful area. Unfortunately, it was very dark inside and not very clean. Tiles in the bathroom are loose, wood which was prepared for a log fire was not dry enough and also we didn't have any warm water in there although we followed all the instructions as good as possible. There is no WiFi and very weak internet, but that's fine - you just should know about it. all in all, we enjoyed our stay, but things were different from what we expected.

peaceful place

I stayed here with my mum, dad ,partner and two children. The cabin has the wow factor for sure, thats the first word my partner said when he walked in, its got everything you need, plenty of space (although just that little bit more food storage space would be good), i love the smell you get as you walk in of the woodburner although we never needed to use it , the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful just what we wanted, for once i could actually let the kids run around without worrying too much about them because hardly any traffic maybe the odd car, there are nice walks up the hill ,there is a nice walk down to the village and nice friendly people at the village shop, it stocks quite alot of things that you wouldn't expect, there is a walk alongside the river from the village and paths that take you on the cateran trail. Good places to walk are the hermitage, killiecrankie and craigvinean forest, beautiful scenery, overall we had a lovely holiday at the cabin and would do it again .

Stench in house

Not a great place to stay apart from location. On arrival we entered and a stench of dampness came through the whole cabin. We never slept in any of the bedrooms because it was that bad. We even opened the windows for a whole day and it was still stinking. We spent 3 days sleeping on sofas which were not that great either. We had to keep the door closed between kitchen and the rest of the cabin to keep stench from the rest of the place.. definitely not worth over ÂŁ200 a night. Was really looking forward to the place and was really disappointed. .. .

Not to be recommended despite its lovely location.

Rather tired and poorly managed. A misunderstanding with the owner and cleaners meant we had to wait until 6 for our turnaround. The hob only had 2 functioning rings. The dishwasher had lost its lower runner wheel. One of the cupboard door hinges was broken. The curtain hook in the master bedroom was broken. Two of the dining chairs had very wobbly legs. An electric socket at floor level was broken and unsafe.

Lovely place

We hebben genoten van het mooie ruime onderkomen. In de omgeving heerlijk gewandeld en genoten van het dorpse inclusief de pub. We schrokken van de laatste review, maar wees gerust, die informatie klopt echt niet. Mochten wij weer in Schotland komen, dan willen echt terug komen.

Lovely place to relax

We had a great week here, after a very busy run up to our holiday it was the perfect place to just relax. There’s plenty walks right from the cabin for days you don’t want to drive, village shop is walkable too and you can take in a river walk on the way. We had deer, pheasants, jays, red squirrel all wandering into the garden area and swifts nesting above the entrance door. Good base to have days out to Pitlochry, Dunkeld and we even took a day trip up to Landmark at Carrbridge which was great to give the kids a treat.

Vomit and mould, long term neglect.

Appalling!! On arrival there is an immediate air of neglect, windows dirty and poorly maintained.At the front door are 3 door mats all falling apart but for some reason stacked on top of each other. It appears as they have worn out another has been placed on top creating a slip/trip hazard. On entering the porch there is a smell of damp and again neglect, it is also very dark and needs the lights putting on to safely walk through. As you enter the hallway the smell and darkness continues. We then noticed a stronger smell coming from the children's room and a swarm of flies. We opened the wardrobe door which was full of child's toys and saw that someone had vomited over the toys creating a puddle on the floor. Our initial reaction was to open the windows but found they were either screwed down or secured with locks and no keys. We then searched for disinfectant without success. There is no WiFi or telephone signal at the cottage so I drove down the hill to contact the host who in fairness sent a cleaner within the hour. However she managed only to get rid of the bulk of the vomit. Unfortunately nothing improved from thereon and below are some of the other issues. Mould in lounge and bathroom. Bathroom has a extractor which does not work Smell permeates throughout the property. Damp in corners and in heating cupboard Lighting totally inadequate. eclectic another word for cast offs? Sockets/ switches dirty and not all working Seating, settees, chairs way past thier usefulness, stained, dirty uncomfortable and badly worn Beds and bedding. Uncomfortable and bedding inadequate (thin quilt) and smell old. Bath not enough hot water and takes too long to fill. According to staff member this has been a problem for approximately 12 years!! Wardrobes full of baby equipment so could not store clothes without taking out the equipment which would then remain in the room. Sink plug jammed, regular occurrence,according to staff. Plunger not cleaned since previous use!! and did not fix the problem. Kindling none. Logs man turned up on Wednesday to chop and allocate our quota of logs!! Doormats, 7doormats in total for 2 doors?? All old and a trip hazard Curtains dragging on floor obviously not fitted. Other curtains old and dirty. Kitchen second hand, door broken, no cupboards for food. Toaster only one half works. We have taken photos and video which we can supply to you.

I lived with my family in Glasgow for 13 years. Work brought us up to Scotland - we worked at the University in Glasgow - and work took us away again - we're now a long way away down on the North Kent coast. We would happily have stayed for this place if we could.

We loved Glasgow; we loved living in Scotland, not least the Highlands, and wanted, if we could, to get a place up here, and finally we got the chance.

We bought this place as a retreat from the working week, an adventure for our young son, and a place to host our friends and their kids. Once we'd got it, we wished we'd had it years earlier and could keep it for years after. It's the kind of place families will spend every Christmas and every Summer holiday: which is exactly what the previous owners did, and many of the neighboring families do as well.

Sadly, we had to move away but we're trying to keep it as a special place for us and we hope you can see that when you visit. Our son still loves his log house, and friends who've visited know why we love it so much, and I hope you can see why.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

As soon as we saw the log walls and turf roof (beginning of May, 2011) we wanted the place. Visiting it (and the lovely drive over the pass from Pitlochry, and passing through the village) clinched it.

For us it was a whole combination of things: it's accessible but still secluded; the area is historic but not twee; you get the convenience of a holiday 'site' while still feeling you've got away from other people; the country around is beautiful but not bleak; being on the East side of Scotland the weather is dryer; and you can easily get to other places around about, so you won't exhaust the possibilities in one stay.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Drive over the pass from Pitlochry or up the valley from Blairgowrie; drive into the village, over the river, up the hill and into the woods and park up at the house. Stop: listen. It's so quiet. At night it's truly dark.

You go in and you smell the wood and the background smoke from the log fire in the living room, which of course you light...

During the day you may see a red squirrel in the trees outside (yes they still have red squirrel here), or deer walking past the back window.

And the next day you've slept in because it's so quiet. And after breakfast - maybe in good weather you've already opened up the patio door and sat outside - you walk down to the village to stock up on a few things, and the view when you walk down is a tonic in itself.
