La maison climatisée dispose de 2 chambres et 2 salles de bain complètes, chacune à un niveau différent, offrant un maximum d'intimité pour les couples ou une famille de quatre personnes. Profitez de vacances paisibles, privées et parfaites dans notre maison à Chocolate Hole, une escapade paradisiaque tropicale à un prix abordable.

La chambre au niveau principal climatisé a un lit queen size, une télévision et une salle de bain complète avec douche, ainsi que des ventilateurs de plafond. La chambre au niveau inférieur a des lits jumeaux ou un lit king-size converti, une télévision, une salle de bain complète avec douche, un coin salon, une terrasse et la climatisation - bien que les alizés relaxants et les brises de Noël, pour lesquelles la maison est nommée, le rendre confortable sans. Ce niveau inférieur a sa propre entrée et est accessible par un escalier extérieur.

La maison est à 10 minutes en voiture (un peu plus d'un mile) du centre de Cruz Bay, à 8 minutes des épiceries et à 15 minutes des plages de sable blanc immaculées de la Côte-Nord.

Les clients apprécient particulièrement de se détendre après une journée à la plage pour découvrir St. Les magnifiques couchers de soleil de John - peut-être même entrevoir le flash vert insaisissable alors que le soleil s'enfonce dans la mer des Caraïbes - depuis les chaises longues ou la table sur notre vaste pont double, qui fait face au sud-ouest vers Chocolate Hole, Rendezvous Bay et l'île de St. Croix. Les vues sur l'eau sont à couper le souffle!

Après avoir tout pris, préparez et mangez facilement votre propre repas dans notre cuisine entièrement équipée et notre coin repas (ou barbecue à gaz en plein air), puis détendez-vous davantage dans le salon - qui dispose d'une télévision, d'un câble, Internet sans fil wi-fi et lecteur DVD - ou tout simplement débranchez et détendez-vous dans la symphonie naturelle de la forêt, alors que les brises rafraîchissantes bruissent la canopée environnante à l'extérieur. Nous avons même une petite bibliothèque de lectures de plage pour votre plaisir. Ahhh ... heureux!

Christmas Winds dans son ensemble est une maison en bois bien entretenue avec des sols en carreaux de céramique, des pierres naturelles et de hauts plafonds. L'atmosphère dans la maison est informelle et la maison est idéale pour un ou deux couples ou pour une lune de miel relaxante. La maison est également bonne pour une famille avec des enfants plus âgés qui peuvent dormir à un niveau séparé de leurs parents. Il n'y a pas de service de ménage, mais il est soigneusement préparé pour les clients et nettoyé au moment du départ, et notre directeur de la maison est heureux de répondre à toutes vos questions. Il y a des draps, des serviettes de plage et de bain et une buanderie complète avec laveuse et sécheuse, ainsi que des chaises de plage et certains accessoires de plage et des jouets de piscine pour les clients (palmes et masques de plongée, planche de bodyboard, etc.).

Christmas Winds was everything the listing says it is. There are lovely views, amazing breezes and comfortable furniture and bedding. The location is also excellent. It’s close to Cruz Bay and town yet quite private. We utilized the beach chairs, towels and snorkel gear and had amazing days at many of the beautiful beaches.The communication with the property manager was excellent. This property would be great for a family or two couples since there is a completely separate bed/bath on the lower level offering privacy.

We had a nice 6-day visit. The house manager, Patti, was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Location was very convenient to Cruz Bay with shopping, restaurants, and the Starfish Market for groceries. House had basic necessities and was clean; however, it could definitely use some remodeling/updates (especially in the bathrooms and kitchen). If you plan to cook, you’ll need to provide your own oils and spices. We appreciated the use of the washer/dryer and beach equipment.

Christmas Winds was perfect for our recent family vacation in St John. Of note, this rental is probably best suited for families with older children as the second bedroom is on the lower level and accessed from an entrance separate from the main living quarters. The location of the house is relatively private overlooking the water, but not far from Cruz Bay making it easy to enjoy many of the great restaurants and access to the National park and beautiful beaches. The house is well equipped with essentials, linens, beach towels and beach chairs and equipment. The owner and island host provided outstanding hospitality. There was good communication before our arrival and they promptly responded to questions we had during our stay. All this contributed to a wonderful vacation in St John!

Great Stay

The house was so comfortable with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the decks, views of the ocean, and the iguanas. The bed was comfortable and we felt safe. We drove to the beaches each day and spent time in the lower deck with shade when UV rays were high. A lovely home and wonderful stay. There was snorkeling gear that was also a nice perk.

Exceptional view and value

Christmas Winds was a great home for our family of four on our first trip to St. John. Our teens enjoyed their downstairs apartment and we all enjoyed the upstairs living area with the spectacular view. The home is very clean and organized. The complimentary use of snorkel gear, beach towels, and beach chairs was such a nice bonus. We would definitely stay at Christmas Winds again.

Perfect way to start the year

Christmas Winds was perfect for our family of four. Great location, perfect space for hanging out, cooking, playing games. Great home close to town

The check in process was smooth. The home was clean and has everything we needed. The back deck overlooking the ocean and mountains was my favorite part. Very private with one suite upstairs and one downstairs (separate entrances) less than 10 mins to everything in town and close to the beaches and restaurants. Very safe area and would revisit again!

Really quaint little place, great location to everything we needed in Cruz Bay, amazing views, and very private area. The property manager was really great and easy to get a hold of. The only negative was the bed…it was horrible….extremely uncomfortable. We were up every hour of the night because the mattress was so hard. Other than that it was great!

Escape from Life's Pressures

The quiet dead end street with trees and ocean view from the house and deck removes one from the busy pace of much of the town, and yet it is easy to connect to anywhere on the island. Groceries are easy to get without entering downtown and with parking, which allows you to use the well equipped kitchen. Recent upgrading to house made it nice. For us it was the perfect mix of pleasant surroundings and lodging, functionality, and value, without unnecessary luxury that one doesn't need on a place like St. John. Truly a home away from home.

We were comfortable and had everything we needed at Christmas Winds. The view, the kitchen, washer and dryer - even comfortable chairs. All good - even hangers and a closet. The Century Plant flowered while we were there and as birdwatchers that was perfect. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Great Birthday Stay

Christmas Winds was a perfect place to stay for my birthday with my husband, his brother and wife. It was extremely easy to get to, has everything you'll need for your stay. We loved the two living spaces and the washer/dryer!! Patty was absolutely wonderful to work with. We were coming from the DFW area that was going to get hit with an ice storm the day we were to leave so I contacted Patty to see if by chance an extra night was available to come in early. Luckily it was and the entire transaction was done in minutes and flawless. We all agreed that we will hopefully be able to stay at Christmas Winds next year! The home was perfect for us!

Pretty darn good. It met our needs and the separate quarters served each couple well. There was a concern about the descending stairs to the front door (street parking where the stairs start), but fortunately that was not an issue. Overall, a very pleasant week and the bananaquits & iguanas were a bonus. Patti, the manager, and Ashley, the main contact, were both exemplary in providing necessary info & guidance. Quiet, private and lovely views.

We enjoyed our stay at Christmas Winds. The house is located on a quiet street and private to the neighbors. Only a few minutes drive to the grocery store and downtown Cruz Bay. We used the new appearing washer and dryer multiple times to wash sweaty hiking clothes. It was also nice to have beach towels, coolers and beach chairs available to use. Room for parking on the road. A flight of stairs is required to walk down to the house from the road. We usually cooked breakfast and the kitchen had everything we needed. You do need to drink bottled water though. I also liked the many books and maps that were available as references, as well as the suggestions from owner Ashley and manager Patti. The upstairs bedroom is directly off the living room area. It has glass paned doors and I think that could be sort of awkward for two couples sharing the house. But for just the two of us, it was fine. Christmas Winds suited our needs. Not fancy but clean, comfortable and convenient. .

Panoramic Ocean Views

from the expansive deck of this very comfortable cottage in a lovely quiet neighborhood dotted with bougainvillea. The cottage was clean and very well equipped. (even had snorkeling equipment!) It was very useful to have a good washer and dryer too. Our bed on the upper level was very comfortable although my adult boys noted that the beds on the lower level were a bit hard. The set up with the bedrooms/bathrooms on two different levels is ideal for a family with older children or adults and gives everyone their privacy (might not work for little kids?) I noticed some other reviews mentioned a problem with insects but we certainly did not have this issue at all - not even one spider!!! It was a pleasure meeting Patti who manages the cottage and gave us a tour of the property on our arrival and made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Patti for recommending Shambles for dinner. It has a fun vibe with live music and the food was delicious! Ashley (owner’s daughter) was also very helpful in suggesting hikes (we did several) and Arawak for our kayaking/ snorkeling trip which was awesome! We had a wonderful vacation made even better by the excellent management at this beautiful cottage. We would love to return!

Some Comments About Christmas Winds, St John V.I.

I value VRBO comments greatly in my choice of vacation properties, so I want to carefully convey some thoughts after a recent 9 day stay at Christmas Winds in St. John VI.Communications with Ashley Winchester, the owner's daughter were prompt and detailed. The onsite check-in and -out with Patti went perfectly.This is an older home,1940's age The kitchen is well supplied with implements, the stove is good and the microwave adequate. The Wifi, TVs, and ACs are good. Of note is that the 1st fl BR is framed out from the 1st fl interior. The walls do not reach the ceiling and the doors separating it from the LR are half clear glass. Thus, privacy might be compromised for some renters.Car parking is on the street level above the house. There are 18 steep steps down to the first floor entrance and 14 more steps down to the lower level entrance.A very difficult item for my wife and myself was the lack of light blocking window shades in both bedrooms. The very bright morning light made sleeping past 6:30 impossible, even with eye shades.Neither deck, both of which are excellent, had any sun umbrellas. For those of us that are conscious of the adverse effects of intense UV light on our skin, not having any shade made the use of the upper deck impossible to enjoy until late afternoon. Even the lower deck received strong direct sunlight for much of the day.St John is a wonderful vacation location! We hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

There are several misleading errors in this guest’s review. First, the house was built in the 1980s, not the 1940s. Second, there are blinds on EVERY window in the two-bedrooms. Upstairs are dark brown woven blinds appropriate for the island. Downstairs are slat-type blinds. Third, there are two luxurious Trex decks: the upper one for sunbathing, the lower one covered for shade. Guests have their choice. Most guests come from northern climates to soak in the sun, not hide from it. Finally, this is a much-loved home which has received Exceptional 10/10 ratings for many years. The owners spare no expense to keep it in pristine condition. If future guests have any questions regarding the house or amenities before (or after) booking, we are happy to assist.

Family Vaca St Johns

We stayed at Christmas Winds for our St Johns family vacation in early May 2022. The house worked well for us, with my young adult kids staying in the downstairs area and the parents in the upstairs bedroom. The location and deck view are really sweet! The house has all the amenities you need to have a great stay in St John and is a short drive to a nearby market for food and supplies. We rented a jeep and explored much of the island from this location. Taxis might work in lieu of a rented vehicle depending on what you like to do. Patti our host was informative about local information and available when we needed her. She explained everything about the house. Would stay here again.
