We strongly disagree with the statements made in this review, as they are factually inaccurate and misrepresent both the property and the communication that occurred. To clarify for future guests: • The front door was not left open, and the lock was not broken. The issue was that the lock’s batteries were getting low. Once the guest notified us that the lock wasn’t performing accurately, the issue was resolved immediately after he replaced the batteries. • We repeatedly asked the guest for the amount he spent so we could reimburse him through the VRBO requests and he never provided it. • No amenities were reported to me as unavailable during the stay, and all listed amenities were functioning. We still have yet to know what he is even referring to. • The only “item in disrepair” mentioned was the automatic trash can lid, which simply required new batteries and still operated manually. • The home does have cleaning supplies and again he never reached out to ask where they were if he couldn’t find them, although guests are never required to clean beyond normal tidiness because a professional cleaning is included and paid for. Despite addressing the only reported issue promptly, the guest asked for a refund 2 days after check out, which was unreasonable and inconsistent with the actual condition of the home. We take pride in maintaining a well-kept property and communicate promptly and professionally. We encourage future guests to read our other reviews for an accurate representation of the high-quality experience we provide.

You bring up a valid point that you did not reach out with any of your concerns during your stay because had you, most of this would have been resolved. The garage and room to the right of the stairs are off limits as stated in the listing. The grill works completely, but if there was something not correct, you did communicate so we don’t know what was wrong. We do not provide kitchen towels for sanitary reasons however we do provide paper towels in the kitchen for our guests. We are sorry to hear that you were cold during your stay. You stated that the thermostats are programmed to our desires which is completely false. There is no need to override the system, because there nothing governing the temperatures. Again, if you had reached out to us, we could have helped you operate the Nest so that you were comfortable during stay, although you did state that you were comfortable during your stay and you think your comments are petty. Your comments wouldn’t have been treated as petty if you would have reached out at all during your time with us.

Thank you for your review! We appreciate all the feedback we get so we can better serve our guests. We are sorry that you went to the house and the keyless entry ran out of a charge. With so much turnover, sometimes unfortunately the electronics in the house malfunction due to batteries dying, electrical issues, etc. It doesn’t mean that no one was in the home before you for a while. The house is usually consistently booked. Also, we were unaware of your troubles with lights not working, as our cleaning crew has stated that they haven’t replaced any lights nor were there any out, before or after your trip. And you never said anything to us, so we do not have any idea of what lights you were trying to use. Our kitchen is supplied with many uncommon vacation rental supplies and utensils, and is more than fully stocked for guests to do more cooking that expected on a vacation or get away. So we are sorry that it was unable to accommodate your cooking desires. The Keurig has been recommended by most vacation rental and hotel sources for the easiest options for guests but we supply the coffee grinder with k-cup reusable inserts for our guests who would like a different brand of coffee or bean. Unfortunately, we did not have the french press that you asked us for during your stay, but there is a coffee pot in the closest for use. We noticed that you mentioned the linens were of poor quality. Again, we are so sorry that you felt this way, as we are always updating, changing, and keeping our home as up to date and modern as we can, along with fresh linens, to keep our guests satisfied with their stay. With that being said, we do provide many higher end options in our home, as that is what we like, but our linens are not Matouk Luxury linens, or else we would have to charge a much heftier price for our rental and cleaning fees. We are sorry they didn’t meet your expectations. In the future, it would be fair to reach out to the hosts with any issues you have before the review process takes place.
