Clean and Comfortable for a large group!

The cabin and clean and had everything we could hope for with a large group of friends and family. Although the cabin wasn’t right on the lake, it was an easy walk down to the water. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Great place for a family vacation

The house is nice and we had everything we needed except coffee filters. It is spacious and there was plenty room for our gang of 11. I would say that the living room could be arranged to sit more people comfortably for movie watching. Also, we were very disappointed that there was not a nice place for the kids to swim. Luckily we found other things to do and had a very nice time.

Family Vacation!

We had a great time! Although the house was not lakefront like it was listed, it didn't matter to us because we didn't utilize the beach area. It was just a short walk to get to the lake. There was plenty of space for our family of 12, although we wish there was more sitting area in the living room. We spent most of our time in the kitchen because there was lots of seating there. The pictures online do need to be updates to match the renovations that were done to the house. Its listed at 3 bathrooms, but there are only two so I am not sure where the 3rd one was. Its a great house for a large family! The kitchen was very well stocked for our family and we had plenty of space for all of our stuff!

Family Time

We wanted to find a place to handle our family size of 15. I booked on line, I was able to go by and see property prior to renting & was happy with what I saw. Pictures are very accurate. Lake is a very short walk. My grand kids had a great time along with the rest of the family. The house is setup very nicely, Plenty of room for kids to spread out and play. Unfortunately it rain part of the time, But with how the house I set up with upstairs play area with plenty of tables & chairs, We were able to keep everyone entertained with good games. My older kids 35- 42 years old appreciated upstairs bar for their late night/early morning gathering without interrupting any ones sleep area. Overall a 10 for house & Yard, 7 on the lake area. Donna did a fabulous job on having the place clean for us 10 ++, My wife approved which always is a good start of Vacation. The grandkids already want us to do this again next year. Thanks Troy.

Perfect for family vacation

This was a perfect location for our family vacation. We had enough room for everyone, including all of us (14 adults & kids) being able to sit around the kitchen tables or picnic tables at the same time. The check in and check out process went very smooth, and Connie was very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you for letting us stay at your property. We will definitely be back for another family vacation.

Not Lake Front

This property is NOT lakefront, we were quite surprised to discover this at check-in. You are about a block and half from the lake. We had brought our boats and kayaks expecting us to be on the lake and the “private” dock to be just for our use. It is in fact, shared by this property along with several other cabins and campers. All of the other guest buildings are between this property and the lake, with no real views of the lake from the house or the outdoor area. The house itself was large and beautiful and perfect for our family. It was very clean and well cared for. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you’d need to prepare meals and the cabinets are labeled so you can quickly find what you are looking for. While not lakefront or lake views, the outdoor space was also well stocked for use by a large group. With plenty of seating and picnic tables. We specifically are looking for places for our annual family trip to be lakefront, so we would not go back. But if that was not critical for your trip it is a beautiful stay. The manager was very responsive and helpful.

Great Family Space

Ample space for a family of 16 total people. Very clean, well equipped with dishes, silverware, Pots and pans, grill and paper products. Plenty of outside space for games And kids play area. Only drawback was the lake was very low this year. That’s not the property owners fault. Updated dock with plenty of space for boats. We would stay again if we’re ever in that area.

Very satisfied

Quick response time with questions. The house was bigger than expected which was nice with a large family. It comes with pretty much everything you need. I appreciate the labeling on the cabinets. The fishing was great with a place to clean and store your fish.

Solid Cabin

Cabin has a good layout for a couples trip. Multiple bedrooms with adequate bed sizes. Kitchen and Living Room are a great spot to have dinners and there is an upstairs bar and lounge area which we didn't utilize at all, but could have. Outside area is nice for yard games, grilling, and bonfires. Fishing was tough being in the middle of summer but it's a beautiful lake with semi-heavy recreational boat traffic. The only down side of the cabin is it's about a 2 block walk to the dock/water. I've stayed at better and I've stayed at much worse. If 3 stars is average - I'll give it a 4.

Fantastic for a Family Snowmobiling Trip

We rented this house for a family snowmobiling trip and were able to comfortably fit 4 couples and one baby into the house. The house had great spaces for hanging out during the day and playing board games at night. It was very clean, and the kitchen worked very well for preparing family meals. The house was super close to the lake and snowmobiling trails, and there was enough space in the driveway for 2 snowmobile trailers. Would definitely recommend!

Fun weekend away

The house was a great size and set up for our large group! We had plenty of space for games, cooking and eating, and even took a walk down to the lake. Communication with Troy was AWESOME and I really appreciated his prompt responses and flexibility with check-in/check-out. Overall a great experience and we've already talked about future stays.

Wonderful house for family of 14; distance of lake NOT lakefront.

The house was very clean and well equip; had everything we needed for our large family gathering. The bedrooms had a lot of space and kitchen was large. Fishing was good; everyone caught something. Wifi was fast and handled all devices. Parking was ample for all our vehicles. Troy and Derek were very easy to get a hold of when we needed anything or had questions. The biggest negative about the house is that it is NOT lakefront. The property is lakefront and the outdoor photos on the website make it a bit deciving. The resort is shared with a collection of smaller cabins that are closer to the lake than the house. There was not much of a beach and the shore was filled with lots of weeds. Not enjoyable for the kids. The back fire pit was very nice except the location of the stock pile of wood. Residences of the cabins must cut through the back to get their firewood. Really ruined the mood when others walked through and a motion light would come on. Cabins should really have a separate wood pile. Boat launch needs a little work. Overall, the stay for everyone was enjoyable.

Our stay was great. The park was perfect for the kids. The only negative is that the water isn’t right outside your door. You need to walk a block to get there.

Great house and great fishing

Our family had a Super time in Backus this past week. The house had everything that you could possibly need and the beds were great. The only down side to the stay was the long walk to get down to the lake and boats...other than that, AWESOME.
