the loveliest home in Normandy

This is the 2nd time we book this property. It is for a reason we come back to this amazing place. Loved every moment while staying here, from the house to the neighborhood, the town and the entire Normandy area.

A beautifully decorated apartment. It felt like a home. Toilet (& washbasin off bedroom). Shower (& washbasin) downstairs. Good towels and toiletries provided. Also coffee, tea and a few other things. Two burner hob, small oven and microwave. Outside courtyard. Parking very near. Lots of holiday information provided and Giselle went through much with us. 20 minutes walk to Bayeux. Lots of restaurants, but most were very busy and reservations are recommended for most. There seemed to be quite a bit of parking for the town (which we didn't use) but it was necessary to pay. Free parking at the Museum for the Battle of Normandy on the ring road. It is worth watching the film (25 mins) which runs regularly and plays in both English and French.

Hello my name is et I am from new zealand. My wife Catherine is from Wales.1. The property was superb and so was the location wow.2. Gisele our host was so helpful. We arrived 2330 on a wed night. She met us there spent time with us to help us settle. Absolutely class.She bought us bread and pastries to welcome us so kind and classy as my wife puts it.3. The cleanliness of the property was a straight 10 out of 104. The garden gets the sun all day long if your tired and want to chill in the sun.Also a lovely outdoor eating area.Cannot praise Gisele and her property enoughThankyou for the memory Gisele. The host Geisel was wonderful! We walked to her home from the train station and she took us back to the station in her car at the end of our stay. My husband forgot his passport so she met him at the train station the next day to do a handoff. The house is very cute and has a wonderful attached court yard. Location is walkable to restaurants, shopping and historic sites. Thanks for letting us stay!

Charming French Apartment

The property was an excellent location, just far enough away from the city center but close enough to walk to everything. Grocery stores, boulangerie and coffee were just a 5 minute walk. We enjoyed the private garden for a rest or a glass of wine and cheese. Our host was very welcoming and helpful our comfort was her top priority. Staying here was truly the French experience.

Charming apartment and area

This was our first time using VRBO. We enjoyed the host, Giselle, she was very helpful and friendly. The apt is close to the downtown of Bayeux, and we had access to all the Normandy sites. This was a perfect quaint location Outside of the city. Very relaxing property. Just be aware that if you have issues with steps, you would need to climb steps to get to the bedroom. We were fine, but I thought I'd mention that. The bed was very comfortable as well. The kitchen was stocked and easy to navigate around. I would highly recommend this property especially if you are on a quest to explore all the WW2 sites in the area. We would return to this apartment in the future!

Bayeux and Normandy

Married couple, first time in Normandy. One of the items on my bucket list was the D-Day experience. Bayeux is a great home base if you want to explore this region. Great place to eat, shops and museums. (Tapestry, etc.) Giselles's place is a short walk from downtown Bayeux and multiple grocery stores. It is perfect for couples. The courtyard and patio is relaxing and spacious, great for morning coffee and/or evening glass of wine. I highly recommend it. FYI - if you are an early riser, you do not need a alarm clock. The church in the neighborhood chimes every morning at 7:02am, which was perfect for us.

Bayeux Tranquility

After a week in Paris we arrived in Bayeux to the peace and tranquility of Giselle's apartment. Everything was as described with the beautifully decorated apartment, soaring ceilings in the bedroom and the French charm of the outdoor patio and garden. Giselle met us at the apartment and made sure we were comfortable with everything. Parking was incredibly easy with three free lots within close proximity. The one we parked in was literally a 20 second walk and there was always space. It was about a twelve to fourteen minute walk into town for restaurants, the Bayeux Tapestry Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral. The meeting point for our Normandy Tour was also in town. It was also an easy 15-minute drive to the coast to Arromanches-les-Bains which is a beautiful beach town and also the landing site for the British forces in WWII. Giselle was very responsive throughout our stay. The apartment was clean and Giselle was very thoughtful with guest amenities. We would love to stay here again if we are lucky enough to get back to Normandy.

Confort calme et accueil charmant

Très belles prestations pour ce logement pour deux personnes. L'accueil par la propriétaire est très appréciable et de bons conseils. La propreté et l'équipement du logement sont irréprochables. Les cloches matinales ajoutent au charme du lieu. Seuls occupants lors de notre séjour nous avons eu le plaisir de profiter tranquillement de la cour et du jardin. Nous recommandons vivement ce logement.

un petit nid douillet

L'appartement de Madame Vicot est un vrai petit bijou. Tout est refait à neuf, d'excellente facture et aménagé avec un goût très sûr. Cerise sur le gâteau, Mme Vicot nous a permis de profiter de son jardin autant que nous le désirions. A aucun moment nous n'avons regretté notre choix. L'appartement est à 5 minutes à pied du centre de Bayeux qui est une petite ville charmante et vraiment bien placé si vous voulez visiter Caen et les plages du débarquement. Mme Vicot, en parfaite hôtesse, vous indiquera ce qui présente vraiment un intérêt et vous proposera toutes sortes de guides pour vous aider dans vos choix. C'est avec plaisir que nous reviendrons si l'occasion s'en présente.

Magnifique !!

Nous recommandons ce lieu ! Maison de village entièrement rénovée avec énormément de goût. La propriétaire est de bon conseil et disponible . Lorsqu'on arrive on est sous le charme et on aimerait y rester plus longtemps. L'endroit est très calme tout en étant proche de Bayeux.

Perfect base

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Giselle’s lovely rental and wished we had booked a longer visit. She met us on arrival, showed us how everything worked and gave us detailed information about sightseeing and restaurants. She has thought of everything one might need for a comfortable vacation and topped it all off with a welcoming bottle of local cider and biscuits. Highly recommended!

Totally charming little house and hostess

This is an adorable place. We originally booked for three nights but stayed another two nights we liked it so much. The garden off the kitchen is very private and weather permitting a lovely spot to eat lunch and have a glass of wine. St. Vigor is very quiet and only a short 15 minute stroll to the centre of town to see the tapestries. Giselle is very helpful and kind. I would certainly recommend this house to friends.

Un rêve en Normandie

Schitterende locatie met prachtige patio en zonovergoten tuin in een rustige omgeving. Op wandelafstand van het centrum van bayeux. Giselle is een hartelijke gastvrouw, ze heeft oog voor detail en geeft je passend reisadvies over Bayeux en de ruime omgeving. Goed gelegen om de landing te bezoeken. Bayeux heeft ons verrast met zijn vele lekkere restaurants.

Beautiful!

We loved our stay. This was a beautiful home , very tastefully decorated with every detail thought of. We enjoyed every moment. The outdoor terrace with a sitting area was so peaceful. The location was an easy walk to all of the sites and even to the grocery store. Giselle was lovely and very hospitable. We highly recommend!

Pretty little house in a good location for the DDay beaches

The house is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable and it was nice to have the toilet upstairs as the stairs would be difficult to negotiate during the night. The kitchen is limited but ideal if you are eating out most of the time. Less suitable for couples like us who like to self cater and cook most of our meals in. The lounge is decorated with beautiful antiques but leaves little surface or space top put anything. It felt a little cluttered. We found the lounge furniture very uncomfortable. The shower is excellent and lovely hot water. Bathroom is comfortable and spacious with lovely towels etc... The courtyard garden is private and great to eat in when the weather is nice. We recommend this beautiful holiday home which is more like a home than a rental property. Perfect base for exploring the area and near to Bayeux.

Awesome stay in Bayeux

Needed a place to stay in Bayeux, and this was perfect for two people. Quiet location with plenty of free parking close by. Easy walk to all that Bayeux has to offer. Easy day trip to all the Normandy “D Day” beaches. Giselle was a perfect host, with lots of great recommendations. One of a kind property, with plenty of private, outdoor space. Had an awesome stay!
