We really enjoyed the house! The location was great, it was roomy, it had a nice view, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Communication was great as well. Easy to get to Acadia and Bar Harbor, and there are also good restaurant options nearby.

Beautiful property and the views were amazing. We were disappointed that there was no fire pit as in the description, but we stayed out most evenings and really didn’t miss it. Would most definitely stay there again.

Another Pleasant Stay

This is the second year we've stayed at this comfortable and well equipped house. It was perfect for the three generations of our family ages 75 to 3. The owners are friendly and accessible.

Lovely house

Great house for two families. Quiet neighborhood, incredibly well-stocked kitchen for heaps of cooking and baking, close to Acadia and loads of adventure.

Sea View in Southwest Harbor

Perfect for a multigenerational vacation. The spacious rooms and bedrooms made for comfortable spaces for everyone from the grandkids to the grandparents. This property had the best equipped kitchen of any place we have stayed. Close to town and Acadia. We loved the property and the quiet side of the island.

Family and friends paradise

Start to finish the property provided everything we wanted at a five star level. Well appointed, clean and a perfect kitchen. The sunporch was enjoyed all day long. Views, we’re excellent.

Gorgeous home with views of Southwest Harbor

This is the perfect Mount Desert home for a getaway with family or friends. Bedrooms and private baths on three different levels allow for plenty of privacy. The house is beautifully furnished and amply supplied, and the views of Southwest Harbor are gorgeous. We felt right at home and would love to go back!

Excellent Vacation

The reservation process was seamless. The property was spotless and welcoming. There was a beautiful view of the harbor from the expansive porch. There is plenty of activities in the Bar Harbor area - sightseeing, hiking and biking in Acadia National Forest, cruises for whale watching, seals, Puffins, light houses and fantastic lobster meals. We all had a great time.

Peaceful, Beautiful and Relaxing!

Our family of 6 had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful home on the “Quiet Side” of Mt Desert Island. The location gave us access to all of the activities The Islznd has to offer without the hassle you might experience at Bar Harbor. The home is extraordinary. We’ve been to many vacation homes and this was by far the best. It’s very clean, well built and the owners are great people! We loved it and higjly reccomend this place.

Family and friend reunion

This property was perfect in so many ways! We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise over the harbor each morning while sipping coffee on the enclosed porch. We cooked up a storm in the great kitchen and the three floors provide privacy for the 7 people stayed here. We also loved the extra spaces (fire pit, dock) down by the water that we were able to enjoy. The owners were fantastic, even found a pizza pan for us to use! Would highly recommend this home!

A well-deserved break

First visit to Maine

Property was excellent for our needs. Extremely well appointed with all the latest gadgets .South West Harbour also ticked all the boxes. We were lucky with the weather which is also important . One wet day indicated possible limitations of location. Delighted with our stay and Maine lived up to expectation.

Everything you could imagine on the Quiet Side!

We had a great stay at Sea View! Our family has stayed in many rental homes and this was the best by far! There was plenty of room for the 7 of us (adult children and friends) and from blanket throws to kitchen appliances and tools - this home has everything! Phyllis and Bill, the owners, and Debby from MDI realtor were excellent hosts and responsive to any questions. Even the frogs in the pond were welcoming. We enjoyed the pier, the community fire pit and gazebo, and nature’s sunrises and STARRY NIGHTS! Strongly recommend and wish to come back again!

Wonderful home for a family gathering

This 4 bedroom 31/2 bath home is gorgeous and roomy. 3 generations ( ages from 6-80) had plenty of space for privacy and togetherness. The gazebo and fire pit provided places to view the ocean and hold marshmallow roasts in the evenings. We kayaked, fished, hiked, ate at nearby very nice restaurants. When not eating out the house itself was well equipped with cooking and baking essentials. One family member was brave enough to buy live lobsters at a nearby market and cook them at home!!

Stunning all around

Jaw dropping home and views! This home was so well-stocked and appointed for people of all ages. A keyless entry would be more convenient to avoid having to pickup and drop off a physical key, but the current setup certainly wouldn’t hinder us from staying again. We would have loved to have had access to (the empty) kayak racks, gazebo and docks as they seemed to be virtually unused.

Beautiful Stay on the Quiet Side of Mt. Desert Island

Our family of 8 stayed for a week at "Sea View." The house was perfectly situated for us. It had plenty of room for each group to have privacy as well as plenty of space to have family time. The kitchen is probably one of the most well equipped kitchens I have come across at a vacation property. We packed way more than we needed, as most of the things we wanted were there. Bill and Phyllis the property owners were incredibly communicative and helpful with whatever we needed. You can tell they want each family to enjoy their time in their beautiful home. We utilized the fire pit by the water, and we took the kids fishing on the dock. We played games at the large dining room table and made so many awesome memories. I would definitely stay again!

Great place for a relaxing vacation

We rented this property for a week to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday, and it did not disappoint! There were 6 of us and it was plenty of space and bathrooms for everyone. Located a stone's throw from Southwest Harbor, it was a very relaxing place to come home to and drink coffee on the front deck. Staying in Southwest Harbor was great - it was quieter than staying in Bar Harbor and more authentic. It's about a 20min drive from Jordan Pond and the Park Loop, but we didn't mind as the drive is very nice. The local IGA is right around the corner, and the restaurants in town were top notch. Overall the location, cleanliness, and layout of the home is wonderful - the kitchen is fully stocked and you can tell it's very well taken care of. As one of our party members noted, "it's been a while since I've gotten over 8 hours of sleep every night for a week!" - that's how relaxing it was! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Great house!

We were a group of 8 adults (my husband and myself with our three sons and their girls) celebrating my big birthday. The house was great! Big, very well stocked and lots of comfortable seating. We did not use the lower level living room at all but it would be very useful if you have teenagers who'd like some separation from the adults upstairs. The owners were not on site in the adjacent garage apartment during our week. Based on entries in the guest book, they will leave you a blueberry pie if they're in town. We were sorry to have missed that as they sounded like friendly, lovely people. One thing to keep in mind is that the house is not air conditioned. We are southerners used to that "refrigerated air" and did find the house got warm (especially the upstairs bedrooms) on sunny days. We had a bedroom switch mid-week! A couple of AC units upstairs would make a real difference. We really enjoyed our time in Southwest Harbor. Thanks for a great stay!

Great house with great views

This is a beautiful property located on a well-landscaped lot that affords excellent views of the harbor and beautiful sunrises. All major appliances functioned properly and there was plenty of water pressure. The beds were comfortable and there was more than enough storage space. The kitchen is cook’s dream and is stocked with everything you could possibly need to prepare a meal. The Wi-Fi was adequate. The hosts are wonderful, concerned hosts that make every effort to make sure your stay exceeds your expectations. My only word of caution is the document that the management company insists that you sign. Reading it closely, it clearly makes the guests responsible for anything and everything including the host’s negligence. In my opinion, it is onerous. One other caveat - do not reserve this property until you have read that agreement. It is available to read before you commit. Once you commit, the management company’s fee and VRBO fee are nonrefundable. The management company did not meet our expectations.

While we understand you may be unfamiliar with staying at a professionally managed, higher end home and the process involved in accommodating your interest, we’ll remain steadfast in how we manage reservations for the property, and with so many parties showing interest in any given week, we’ll continue to be sure all inquiries are fully compatible.

September Vacation

We had a lovely stay at the Sea View. The descriptions and photos were true to life. The common space and beds/baths were spacious and comfortable. We cooked in for several meals and the kitchen was superbly supplied. Having the gas grill was a big help. The sunroom had room for our huge jigsaw puzzle where we could wander in, place a piece and enjoy the constantly-changing view down to the water and the harbor. A highlight on our final evening was roasting marshmallows for s'mores down at the fire pit. We enjoyed our stay here, worthy of a 5-star review.
