A beautiful, private vacation spot! Space to hang out on rainy days and space to do your own thing as needed. Met my sisters and their spouses for a week of adventures, reminiscing and laughter and this was the place to do it! Close to many things to do, restaurants, and right on the beach. The firepit was great for us to connect too! Recommend to all!!

The property is very comfortable and the view is lovely. Our host was very attentive and we had no trouble with our check-in.Ping Pong table was fun, but beware of the mold growing in that part of the house. The laundry in the downstairs bathroom is convenient, but again those front loaders are notoriously difficult to keep mold-free and you will find this is the case with this property.The kitchen is very well laid out and has most of what you would expect. However, if you like to bake, bring your own measuring cups because there were none.Overall this property was above average for comfort and cleanliness. If you have mold allergies don’t stay here.

Thank you for your review and glad to hear you had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the sunsets! Regarding your other comments, the measuring cups must have gone missing because we certainly did have them and have all the usual kitchen accessories. We don't expect guests to need to bring these items, and have since replaced the missing measuring cups. Regarding the basement - being a basement and steps from the ocean shore - it can get damp, We are aware and plan to add additional dehumidifiers. Regarding the front loading washer - as noted, the design is not perfect. We run cleaning solution through the washer at least once per month and asks guests to keep the washing door ajar to air out between uses. We will continue to monitor and ensure a clean and healthy environment. Thank you again.

We had a lovely time and the location was SUPERB! There are 3 levels with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and an open loft/lounge area on the top floor. The main living area, the master suite, a bedroom, and a full bathroom are on the main floor. The living area has beautiful views of the Union River Bay shoreline, a large backyard, and wooded area. Spectacular! The main floor common bathroom had the stacked washer/dryer. The lowest level was the garage/ping pong table area. The main draw for all of us (7 adults/children) was the shoreline. At low tide you could wander the shore and explore the tide pools. Outside was very peaceful, there wasn't any boat traffic. After a day of exploring Desert Island, it was a lovely respite. The drive into Bar Harbor was only about 25 minutes.

We greatly enjoyed our stay here. The views were fantastic, and the home was spacious and very well taken care of. And the location was quiet, and we felt like we had the bay to ourselves.

Fantastic home base to explore Acadia. Enjoyable to leave the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia. 20-30 minute drive to Acadia very manageable. The bedrooms were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. If we visit the Maine coast again we would definitely return.

Beautiful Maine

We had an incredible time on our vacation. We loved walking on the beach several times a day and finding sea glass. The location is perfect to access Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Great home for our adult family of 6. Beautiful location on water. Out of busy congestion but close enough to all things Acadia. Really a great space. Love having amenities like trash bags, ziplock bags, soap along with many kitchen supplies.

We loved the view and the privacy of the location. The kitchen was well equipped and family room was comfortable. The upstairs lounge is larger and more comfortable than the photos. The bed sizes are not quite as listed in secondary bedrooms. Great place overall.

Excellent!

This was a lovely property for a lovely stay. The location was convenient, the house comfortable, very clean and well-stocked. The beach was excellent for the kids to play, explore and swim. Of the many VRBO properties we’ve stayed at, I’d definitely recommend this one.

Perfect vacation rental

Everything in this house is exactly as described. Very clean, comfortable, and has everything you could need. Great location, close to town and bar harbor, but very private. We enjoyed the local wildlife and even saw two bald eagles fishing just off shore. Wonderful beach as well! Thanks for a great stay!
