Host was awesome. The place was awesome too. It was very clean, and it had everything we needed. The surrounding area is incredibly peaceful - the river from the front porch was so serene. Lots of hiking and beautiful views in very close proximity. One mile from the doorstep to the most beautiful waterfalls we saw throughout our trip. We would definitely stay again.

Great peaceful escape

What a beautiful area. We explored Lake Jocassee and all the trails we could hike. Beautiful home and beautiful area to get away. Very peaceful.

PERFECT ANNIVERSARY GETAWAY

Excellent Spot!

Excellent time here with family - two young kids and two adults. Enjoyed puzzles, playing in the creek, walking to the waterfall, driving to other things near. The location is very nice.

Beautiful and Relaxing

We had the most relaxing family getaway at this beautiful place! We spent our days hiking and nights playing board games and enjoying much needed family time. It was perfect in every way!

This place is a gem. The property and the house. Family of 4 stayed comfortably and was impressed on how well stocked the house was from cooking supplies to books and games. We will visit again and would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful spot

What a lovely place! So relaxing. Right on the river surrounded by beautiful property. House was clean, beds made on arrival, and essential basics in the kitchen (including a few extra snacks). We were able to hike to Twin Falls from the house - about a 35 min hike one way. The only thing to note is there is no cell service so be sure you know your directions and the code to get in the house before you get there! Once inside, there is WIFI sufficient for texting and very basic internet needs. We highly recommend it.

Extremely peaceful.

Very quiet and peaceful place to stay. Almost - completely off the grid. Allowed for the most peaceful, stress-less get away we have had. Trip over to Reedy Fork Falls is worth the trip!! Gorgeous!!

Great Getaway

Loved this property and perfect for some quite time. We would have given it 5 stars BUT the internet connection and phone service is not too good. This is perfect of you want to totally unwind and find a break from the outside world, however, we personally have to have some access and depend on a good connection. Overall, a fabulous property to relax. Manager is phenomenal to work with as well. Highly recommend.

Wonderful mountain home!

My family had such a great stay at this home! The property is extremely well kept. We so enjoyed the space, working indoor fire place, and comfy, luxe bedding. Everything you need is at the home. It is a very private property tucked away on the side of a mountain across a river. Matt was very helpful with lots of advise on local things to do included in the welcome book. We highly recommend this property for a great vacation!

Great time, and property!

Had a great time at this river cabin, the waterfall less than a mile away was amazing and probably the best waterfall I've ever seen. Cabin was great, the sound of the river on the front porch was very relaxing. We will return in the future. Thanks!

Amazing Cottage!

We had such an amazing time in this cute and cozy cottage in the most relaxing creek! Matthew has stocked this house with everything you need for your stay! Definately would recommend this to everyone!!

Great River Cottage

We recently stayed here for 4 nights with our family of five. Our kids are 11,9,5. The cottage is very quaint and secluded on a pretty little river out front that was perfect for our kids to swim in. The home was clean and up to date. All appliances worked great. You are a good 30min from a grocery so make sure you stock up well on the front end. We used this place as home base to travel thru the area. We did Twin Falls, sliding rock, table rock state park, and went to the Highlands. Lots of driving but lots of fun! I would suggest changing the bed/bath configuration on the listing. This is a two bed one bath property, not 3/2 as listed. It was not an issue at all for our family but i could see how it might make a difference for a larger group. Overall, this property is A+ and we would definitely return if given the opportunity!

Beautiful and serene setting of a comfortable house !!

We spent 3-nights in this quaint house close to a lot of hiking trails, waterfalls and lake activities. House was well equipped and comfortable. The river flowing less than 10 yards away was the highlight when you sit on the screened porch with a coffee or an adult beverage 😀. Highly recommended 👍

The perfect mountian getaway

We stayed for a long weekend with plans for hiking, fishing and kayaking in the Jocassee Gorges area. The house was literally at the end of the road but close enough drive to everything we wanted to do. The place is quite, secluded and perfect for a small family or in our case an anniversary getaway. The Eastatoe river is right in the front yard and we enjoyed dinner and cocktails on the screened in porch with the sounds and view of the river right outside. One of the best waterfalls in the area is right around the corner The house was well furnished, clean and everything worked great for us. Matt, the owner, gave us some good local information on things to do and places to eat. If you plan on hiking get a map from SCDNR or other online sources as many of the roads in Jocassee Gorges are closed seasonally and some are best suited to a 4x4 so plan ahead.

Fantastic location, must see!

Great location and a beautiful home. Home is in a small valley, we saw more deer than people. The river in the front yard is extremely relaxing and fun for the kids to play in. Awesome waterfall walking distance from the house. Must see! Will repeat.

Absolutely beautiful home!!

My family of 4 (teenagers) had an amazing time staying here. We loved the home and river. We really didn’t need much; all the essentials were provided which is very helpful. WiFi isn’t strong but it meets your basic needs so bring your favorite movies to watch. We have AT&T’s - no cell service which is nice to get away from the phones for a change. Very clean place!! Definitely will be back!!! Short drive to Lake Keowee and Jocassee Lake. Hiking is all around you! Falls Creek Falls is beautiful must see!

Gorgeous!

Our stay was so wonderful!! The scenery is breathtaking! It is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy family time with no cell phone interruptions. Fishing in the creek and hiking to the waterfall were just a few of our kids favorites.
