Relaxing!

This beautiful location , right on the water, was very relaxing and peaceful. We had very hot weather during our visit the the pool was definitely a plus! The big house was very spacious and you would hardly know there was 10 people inside.

Beautiful place with spectacular view!

This was the perfect place for a family reunion with lots of space, a big kitchen and could sleep up to 12. The new owners were constantly working on it during our stay and were available whenever we needed anything. The view on the water is just spectacular! We will go back!

The moment we walked into the Big House on the lake we knew it was perfect for our family get away! The house was very clean, roomy and large and more than accommodated our family of 9. It was modern and very well equipped with everything (and more) we needed for our 5 night stay. The owners were close by on the property and were quickly and very responsive to any requests (a high chair, a long rope for our dog, life jackets and water crafts ... even delivered fire wood to our fire pit!) Being right on the water was lovely, plus the outdoor space was huge and well manicured and maintained. Our three little grand daughters loved playing on the grass as well as on the swings and playground equipment. We really appreciated the passes for Sandbanks as well as the recommendations for things to do and see in the area!

We had 7 adults and 4 children in our group and the house was perfect!! The kitchen is very well equipped as is the rest of the house. The kids had a blast in the pool, the lake, and roasting marshmallows! Bob and Paula were accommodating and offered several wonderful ideas for places to eat and things to do. This is an outstanding destination for families!

Excellent stay at the big house!

We were three families and friends with small children. We stayed at the big house and had tons of room. The area is beautiful. We did lots of paddle boarding, swam in the pool and had bonfires. Checked out Sandbanks beach and lake on the mountain. The town of Picton is cute and had everything we needed. Paula and Bob were super nice and accommodating and provided extras to make the kids happy like bouncy house and golf cart ride. We had a great time and will be returning.

Beautiful vacation home

7 adults and one 11 year old stayed at the Big House at Smith’s Bay. There was lots of room for everyone to spread out with5 bedrooms and a basement suite plus 3.5 bathrooms. The kitchen is really well equipped. The pool and waterfront with a beautiful view were a bonus. The owners live on the property and responded immediately when we needed anything.they also gave us the use of a season’s pass to Sandbanks and other great tips about wineries and restaurants. Highly recommended.

Relaxing getaway in Prince Edward County at the Big House on Smith's Bay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Big House on Smith's Bay. We had everything we needed and so much room for 6 couples and a toddler. The swimming pool was a nice bonus. Sitting on the deck in the evening was a treat, especially watching the swans, herons and egrets that visited near the dock. We canoed, paddled and pedaled the boats provided and had a fire in the fire pit most nights. We made day trips to Sandbanks Provincial Park and several wineries, and explored Picton. The owners were friendly and helpful. Overall we had a very relaxing getaway in Prince Edward County. Highly recommend the Big House for a family gettogether.

A pleasant stay at the Big House

Clean, well maintained with the property owners easily available. Pool was cleaned regularly. The big house was great for a multi generational gathering, though I can see how the stairs might be an issue for those with mobility issues. Unfortunately the water levels made boating & fishing difficult but that is something well outside the owner’s control. The fire pit was nice to hang out next to in the evening. Overall, we enjoyed the property very much.

We were a family of 10 people staying at the Big House. The layout of the home was well thought out and the house had everything we needed. I loved the bright, spacious and cozy cottage atmosphere that made the experience one to remember. The owners, Robert and Paula were wonderful and always available for questions or any other needs. They had lifejackets in all sizes even for my 1 year old granddaughter. My adult children used the kayaks, canoe, and paddle boats. My favorite part of the day was sitting on the patios, looking out onto the bay and seeing the ducks and swans. The view was beautiful. The home was perfect for a large family like mine. Thank you

Matelas non confortable, Robinet brisé, porte papier toilette tomber et pas refixer, tous en general es vieux ou a changer Excellente vitesse de reponse par contre, tres grand comme endroit, air climatisé fonctionne tres bien En gros trop cher pour deux familles et pas le luxe que lon peu s'attendre a ce prix

Nous avons passé un séjour incroyable au chalet. Bob est un hôte extraordinaire : toujours disponible, prêt à aider pour n’importe quoi, de bonne humeur du matin au soir et il adore les enfants. On s’est sentis accueillis comme si on arrivait chez des amis.Le chalet était encore plus grand que sur les photos, super propre et très confortable. Le terrain est immense, parfait pour laisser les enfants courir et jouer. L’accès au lac est un gros plus, avec des embarcations et des jeux extérieurs qui ont vraiment ajouté à notre expérience.Honnêtement, je recommande tellement cet endroit. On a déjà envie d’y retournerMerci à Bob et sa femme !!!
