Good apartment but with some issues
We stayed in Alassio for 10 days and received a friendly welcome from Francesco, who showed us the place and gave us good tips about local activities and amenities.
The apartment was clean and tidy. It is a simple place, not flashy but sufficient to meet our basic needs. However we did have some issues during our stay and felt some things could be improved to make the stay more comfortable.
- There was a gas leak on the stove connector, so we had to turn off the gas after every use. This was strong enough to be visible if the door and window were closed, and smelled strongly throughout the apartment.
- Internet was unreliable, and we were initially not able to use it for work. Francesco did provide a better router however and this one worked well for us.
- Regarding the internet issue, it was difficult to get in touch with Francesco. He initially did not respond to my message for a few hours and I had to contact vrbo out of fear the issue would drag on.
- The shower leaks a lot and the bathroom had to be mopped after every use. The drain also repeatedly clogged which lead to the shower pan filling up.
- The mattresses were thin and not too comfortable.
- The apartment was lacking in typical household essentials. There was no toilet paper/paper towels, laundry detergent, soap, no working lighter for the stove.
The apartment was acceptable overall, but could be great with more care and attention.
