Niagara Mansion Carriage Suite

Guests were a pleasure to have at the Mansion Suite. We have noted the comment regarding kitchen equipment and done an inventory replacing missing items. The Shower has a govenor on it for safety but we have found that a number of guests have had difficulty with operation of the handle to achieve a comfortable temperature. We have replaced this handle with a more traditional set of controls for ease of operation.

I would be happy to address these comments. I fully anticipated that this guest would be extremely unpleasant. Most of the comments are distortions so I will address them individually. I fully agree that the carpet was not acceptable. The previous guest had left it in poor condition and there was not time to replace it prior to this guest. I did advise them of this in advance.and asked them to let me know if they had an issue and I would address it with them to make them happy. We had several conversations and at the time were fine. We want our guests to be comfortable. However, we did not have time to replace the carpet. New wall to wall carpet has been installed literally the next day after this guests departure. This was a legitimate concern. However the balance of the comments are not accurate. The suite was thoroughly cleaned prior to guest arrival. The suite has living room and bedroom separated by french doors so it is open while connected and with doors closed it creates privacy. This is why one television serves both spaces well ... you can watch comfortably from living room or while in bed. There were extra down comforter (brand new by the way and pillows in the linen closet for guest use). They had only to ask or open the linen closet door. It was labeled. I double check the flatware myself upon their departure. There is a full service set for eight in the kitchen, including brand new steak knives. The kitchen drawer with flatware is labeled "flatware". There is a full compliment of coordinating dishes and two complete sets of eight as well as 8 extra mugs and four sets of sizes for glassware as well as two types of wine glasses. The window shades do provide complete privacy. In fact they do have to be raised to let the light in during day as they are so effective at blocking light. The bathroom is small but functional and the shower is full size. I am pleased that the guest found the bed and linens comfortable and fresh. As far as hearing the guests in the main house, there is one common wall with the main house. This wall is actually the massive masonry and brick work of the original 1815 bee hive oven. Sound may transfer in this one area but it would be a disservice to the historic 206 year old home to cover up this spectacular original
