Fun get away close to the water. Fishing was great!! Enjoyed the quiet mornings in the screened in porch with my coffee. Friendly atmosphere everywhere we went! Gotta go to little Dave’s for breakfast or grab a pizza for movie night. We look forward to our next visit.

Property was clean and well provisioned. Communication was excellent. We had a wonderful visit, short walk to the water and pontoon rentals within minutes!

Comfy house, great location

Booked this house for a family get-together. We were all traveling from elsewhere so it was nice to have a spacious house to ourselves. The place was clean, well-maintained, and in a great location. We were just a few minutes from shops, restaurants, a recreational area and boat rental shop. The owner was quick to respond and very helpful. Be aware that cell service is not great in the area so be sure to download your maps on wi-fi before you leave the house.

Thanksgiving Retreat

My elderly parents are not in good health, and I knew if we traveled to their house for Thanksgiving that they would try to cook a big meal and they are no longer able to do so. This location is halfway between our homes and they were able to travel this far to have Thanksgiving dinner with us. The kitchen as well, equipped, and I was able to cook a full Thanksgiving meal for my parents, my children and my grandchildren. The location was peaceful, comfortable-and conveniently located— allowing some family members to spend the night and some to stop by for dinner. We were able to have a fire in the fire pit because it wasn’t too terribly cold outside In November. I asked my family if they would like to stay there again, and their answer was yes.

Spacious and comfortable

The house was very nice and big, we all had plenty of room. We was a little disappointed that there was no Keriug as stated but made do. Hated that we didn't get to meet the host. Still we had a good time.

Nice location, but property had maintenance issues

While the location and bedrooms were nice, I unfortunately couldn't say I'd go back here. It had obvious maintenance problems, most notably: - The fridge and freezer weren't working properly. They were only slightly chilled which led to ruined food and us spending money to try and salvage the rest with ice and coolers on the second day. - The stovestop only had 1 out of 4 burners working. - One toilet seat had a broken hinge and wouldn't stay on. - We found a few smoke alarms that were not mounted and had no battery power. This seemed like a safety issue in the kitchen especially. To be fair, on the good side: - The beds were very comfortable. - The place was clean. - The air conditioning worked well. - The size of the place was as advertised.

Rough River

Great location near the Rough River Lodge and all local stores and restaurants. Cabin was located not on the water but very near it. Met some of the neighbors and they're very nice. A few oddities such as unlevel floors and some missing duplex outlet cover plates but overall and excellent property and completely recommended for other folks wanting to go to the lake for the weekend.

Getaway

This property was perfect for what my grandsons and I wanted. A little on the rustic side but we were fine with that. Had all the amenities we were looking for for a weekend of board games and fun. Just about a 10 to 15 min drive to the resort lodge where we had a delicious lunch buffet followed by a round of 18 holes of mini golf. Then back to the house to roast hotdogs in the fire pit topped off with a round of s’mores. All in all a perfect getaway space.

Great location in a quiet natural setting

The location was great, close to Rough River and to the Harned/Hardinsburg area. There was plenty of room for us and our puppy to enjoy the stay. Saw a fox, multiple deer, and many types of birds during our stay. Seemed a little less clean than some rentals we've stayed in, but the bedding was fresh and overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Fall Family Trip

This house/property was located in a quiet lake community. We attended a family reunion, and used the rest of the time to "get away and relax." It was nice to have plenty of space to unwind, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a few good meals! Would like to return sometime in the near future.

Lots of Room

This house is big! It has a three bathrooms and 5 beds. It is across a small street from the lake. There is a boat dock and a little “beach area” super close. The host is so nice and let us swim off his boat at the dock. The screened in porch was great! The neighbors were also super nice. I would definitely rent again.

Just right.

Being in our 70s my wife and we're looking for a spot to just get away for a few days. This was the right place! Only one woodpecker bothered us once. Actually liked it. Good place!

Just what we needed!

We were highly impressed with the property! The pictures on the listing do not do it justice! Plenty of space for our group, the deck was perfect to sit and hang after long days on the water, and there is even a little beach area just a short, short walk along the water. Our only suggestion would be to bring water shoes for that area. Silas, the host, was easily accessible and even checked on us first thing! Yes, the home is older, but it had everything we needed and more! We will absolutely return as soon as possible!

This property was a little disappointing. The house didnt reflect the discription on VRBO listing. Uneven floors. Toilet overflow. Property owner did not have a helpful response to these issues. No specific instructions for check out.

Fantastic!

The house is pretty great, but let’s talk about the screened porch! We enjoyed it so much we hung out there the entire time we weren’t on a boat. Silas is very nice and quick to respond to any messages or phone calls with questions. A short walk down the road and you can walk into the water for a quick dip if you want or just take in the view. We will be back for sure!

The best cabin!!

We absolutely LOVED this cabin! So cool to stay in South Park! We were an hour or less away from most places we wanted to go! It was very private and I loved that it was right out of town, & not a far drive!!! A+++
