Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about your recent stay at Harbor Island. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful area and the overall experience Harbor Island offers. However, we sincerely apologize for the inconveniences you encountered during your stay. We take pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and comfort in all our properties, and we are genuinely sorry that this was not reflected during your visit. We appreciate you bringing the fish smell and the dusty vents to our attention. Our team has already addressed the HVAC system and ensured that filters are regularly changed to prevent such occurrences in the future. We understand how important a clean and welcoming environment is, and it is unacceptable that the kitchen floor and the bedding did not meet our usual standards. Our cleaning team has been informed of these issues and will receive additional training to ensure such oversights do not happen again. We are also sorry to hear about the lack of an umbrella on the balcony. We will look into providing umbrellas for our outdoor spaces to enhance our guests' comfort and enjoyment. Regarding the distance to the nearest Walmart or grocery store, we will make sure to provide more detailed information to future guests so they can better prepare for their stay. Your feedback is invaluable to us as it helps us improve and ensure every guest has a memorable experience.

Hello Fred, thank you for your review. We will address your cleaning concerns with the company with whom we contract our cleaning services. We have rarely had problems in the past but that does not mean that there were not things missed prior to your visit. Our apologies. About the unit being tired looking, we must be missing the mark. We are going for a timeless look, not a tired look! Lol, but really, in the past two years we have replaced half of the major appliances, 80% of the furniture, and almost all of the decorations, wall hangings, drapes, linens, blinds, utensils, and small appliances. Our goal is cozy convenience in a beach cottage setting. While the cottage look may not be "in" we think it is quite fitting in the low-country, natural, beach surroundings, We visit twice a year in the off-season and always have many, many, projects to make our little slice of heaven even more beautiful. This fall we will be returning. We hope to find a small and sturdy table that matches the two deck chairs (that were just added the month before you had visited). We want to replace the two toilets in the downstairs and front bedroom bathroom with ones with a higher seat and elongated bowls, and we need to add some color to the white walls.
