Construit en 1989, ce chalet en rondins est situé dans un quartier calme de Craig, à seulement un pâté de maisons du front de mer, des boutiques, des restaurants, du café, des bars, etc.

Les plafonds voûtés créent un espace clair et spacieux, tandis que les murs en rondins lui confèrent une ambiance de cabine confortable. Décoré avec des œuvres d'art originales d'artistes locaux, de chefs d'entreprise et de votre hôte, Madelaine Voegeli.

Cet espace est parfait pour tous les visiteurs; ceux qui se rendent à Craig pour leur voyage d'été annuel, ceux qui visitent une famille ou peut-être ceux qui viennent pour le voyage de leur vie!

Whale Watching

Enjoyed our stay and the short walk to the bay to view the whales spouting in the distance. Some confusion with the address based on our GPS directions. Cozy cabin and nice stay.

It was cute and clean. I cooked a whole Thanksgiving dinner in the kitchen which I wasn’t expecting to be able to do. Lovely toiletries. It fit 4 of us perfectly. I highly recommend this stay.

A fabulous place!

My mother and I travelled from Canada to visit her good friend for a week. It turns out that her friend lives across the street from this property, so it was a convenient location. The view in this area of Craig is spectacular! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 2nd and Spruce Cabin! The place was clean and comfortable and the communication Madeleine was great. We really appreciated having the laundry facilities (since we only travelled with our carry-on luggage). The grocery store, restaurants, and other shops are within walking distance. We could not have asked for anything more. We highly recommend this place for a few nights or a longer stay!

Great location and host

Good place to make a home base in a neighborhood by the water. Host was very responsive and attentive to inquires. Would highly recommend and would stay again. Two things I would recommend. Better info about cable TV. Welcome docs gave instructions to TV but turns out no TV. It was fine but used more data than planned and would have been nice to know ahead of arrival. And there were few checkout instructions so I did what I usually do. Clean up after ourselves but didn’t dump trash because I was unclear on outside trash can situation.

Madelaine and her cabin are Superb!!

Madelaine’s cabin is beautiful and in the heart of Craig easily accessible or walkable to library, harbor, and some restaurants. It was perfect for our family of 5 and I appreciated all the beautiful local artwork, some of which is Madelaines’! When we had questions she was quick to get back with us; really great communication. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Best vacation ever!

First we want to say Madelaine and Kyle we the most amazing hosts. This cabin was perfect for us, gave us the feeling of "Alaska". We totally enjoyed the atmosphere and the location. We were just a block from the water and an easy walk to town and we could walk to some amazing hiking trails. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

Quiet cabin in Craig, AK

Cabin duplex located in a quiet, friendly neighborhood on the Craig, AK spit. The friendly, kind, host, Madeleine, has everything you need and is great to work with. Neighborhood is very quiet and you can walk down to the coastline or to the dock area to JT Browns General store for some coffee and meeting the locals. We had a rental truck and there is parking on the side of cabin. We took day trips all over the island from Craig and it was nice coming back to this cozy, nicely decorated cabin.

I am a local gal who has lived on Prince of Wales Island since 2014. Believe me when I say - you come for a vacation and never want to leave!

1. My dog, Aila, and I are best buds and you'll rarely see us without each other.
2. I am the oldest of 11 siblings!
3. I love getting to know new people and wholeheartedly believe we all cross paths for a reason.
4. Indian food is my favorite!
5. I am a fan of regular solo dance parties in front of the mirror.
6. I've travelled to nearly 20 countries, mostly alone.

As a career artist, and all around creative and visionary, I have invested countless days/weeks/months in designing the perfect space for visitors. From the unique art to the custom decor, coordinating furniture and bedding/linens to the spacious yard, porch, and proximity to downtown local amenities, 2nd and Spruce Cabin is perfectly suited for any trip to Prince of Wales Island.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Craig in and of itself has that far-from-civilization feel; the coziness of staying in a log cabin, so close to the sea that you can hear whales breathing, eagles calling overhead, and fishing vessels returning to port make 2nd and Spruce all the more special and quaint. You'll feel right at home in this space - be careful, you might wind up like so many of us locals and just decide not to leave :)
