    La cabine est située sur 9 hectares boisés à Tamms Illinois, au cœur de NAPA ILLINOIS, et dans
    Petite Egypte historique, et dans le sud de l'Illinois, à l'orée de la forêt de Shawnee.
    La faune abonde, y compris; Lions de montagne, panthères noires, lynx, lynx roux, coyotes, loups qui se sont reproduits avec des coyotes, des ours noirs rares, des cerfs, des tatous, des pygargues à tête blanche, des faucons, une paire de nidification de grands-ducs d'Amérique sur la propriété, trop d'oiseaux chanteurs à mentionner, des colibris, Vautours
    Oiseaux chanteurs à gogo, tortues et plus encore. Notre Lodge est situé dans un écosystème d'importance internationale, le bassin de la rivière Cache, car c'est là que l'environnement oriental rencontre l'environnement occidental et le nord rencontre le sud.
    Certaines parties de la région ressemblent à la Louisiane, moins les Gators! La chaîne septentrionale des monts Ozark s'étend dans notre région, avec la plus haute montagne de l'Illinois, Bald Knob, à quelques minutes.
    C'est la Mecque du Midwest pour les oiseaux sauvages, avec le lac Horseshoe à une courte distance en voiture et de nombreux lieux de chasse à proximité, y compris sur notre réserve de 9 acres. Il y a de grandes randonnées sur notre propriété, vous pouvez gravir le mont Saint Tams (670 pieds) à quelques pas du porche avant et faire un peu d'escalade.
    Il est également réputé être un hotspot pour Bigfoot!

    This is a very nice, peaceful cabin. The host was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

    Hunting trip

    The cabin was great for me, Tammy is a great host,easy to communicate with. If I could add anything to the cabin it would be reliable internet and tv,, otherwise everything was great for me.

    Nice quiet retreat

    This was a nice quiet cabin surrounded by woods and some wildlife. There is wifi- although my att couldnt connect. But good to “disconnect” from technology for a couple days as well. Just went up the road a couple miles to get a good signal. You are about 20 min from town if u need to get groceries or do a walmart trip. Will definitely consider staying here again.

    Cozy Cabin

    We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and lights and air conditioning on when we arrived. We loved the natural setting and the space. The location is a little far from the local attractions, but not bad if you don't mind a bit of a scenic drive. We were unable to connect to the wifi and had no cell service. Some nicer towels and dishes and a brighter lamp in the bedroom for reading are all little things that would make a big difference in the experience. In all, it was a great away experience and we would recommend!

    A BETTER Review!

    Host had the cabin very clean. New leather couch & recliner. Mattress was extremely comfortable. Washer & Dryer were excellent. Another Rental house near, long-term renters were very quiet. Internet not very good in the Illinois woods. Closed cabin has a musty smell from humidity in the woods. Host had an automatic air freshener going to help with air quality.

    Nice little cabin in the woods.

    We were out and about (from Anna to Horseshoe Lake to Mounds) so didn't do much more than sleep there. Comfortable and quiet. Wifi is weak (coming from a marginal cell signal), but why are you in a cabin in the woods if you're going to binge Netflix? Our reservation didn't get to the owners before we arrived for some reason, but they quickly prepped the place while we waited. They were very friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, GPS gets the location wrong. The mailbox description was obsolete - we pointed that out to the owners, so it should be updated now. We figured out the location using Google satellite view and had no trouble.

    Terrible stay.

    To start the TV didn’t work and got no response from host. The toilet had a towel around the base and was soaked with water. Had to wear shoes in the bathroom because of water on the floor. Contacted host, no response. Wet towels left in the washing machine. Counter tops had some food crumbs on them. Did stay there that night because it's an hour drive to the next town. Contacted host in the morning to tell them we're leaving... No response. Host Contacted me later that day to say she was out of town. Never did apologize for any of the conditions. Also, No smoke detectors. There was a mount on the wall in the bedroom but no detector.. It is illegal to rent a place in Illinois with no smoke detectors. Asked for a refund and got a partial.

    Great location

    Walked into spider webs all throughout the house. Coffee pot had old coffee with mold in it, Ice box had expired items in it. But my overall stay was very good it’s secluded and was peaceful I did enjoy my stay. It just needed a little attention before our arrival.

    Nice once we found it.

    The GPS attached to the site takes you to a different location when you have arrived. I drove around for an hour and called and messaged the property owners with no response. I finally had to stop at a locals home and luckily got directions. There were not flags at the entrance as suggested and there also was very not visible numbers from the road. When I turned in the drive I had to get out twice to move huge tree limbs out of the road. When I arrived, the cabin itself has everything you would need. Very comfortable and peaceful. I was just very disappointed in the communication with the owner. I almost drove home out of frustration! But it was a calming stay and the cabin was as I had hoped. Now that I know where it is, I would probably stay again.

    I think it was an okay stay the owner was nice but the fact it’s in someone’s front yard…….

    I felt that I was in someone’s home and they just packed up and left for the weekend I was shocked to see we were 20 feet from the front door of a neighbor.. besides that the cabin was good bugs and spiders are what you get in the woods the “mifi” wasn’t great but it was a retreat from the city overall not very bad but not very good you can tell they’re good ole folks though I did enjoy that.

    Quiet stay.

    Wasnt very clean, a lot of bugs. I want going anywhere so I took all the food I needed along for the stay but the freezer was full of items and had no room in there for my items.

    It was a nice cabin off the beaten path but there was a house right next door. It had a washer & dryer with laundry detergent but there was no hot water when showering.

    We had a great time at Tamm’s Cabin! It was a perfect location for hiking and visiting wineries! We enjoyed both! The cabin was cozy, comfortable, and well stocked! Thanks for the hospitality! We look forward to visiting again!

    Convenient Cabin for Hiking Shawnee National Forest

    This cabin was convenient and inexpensive way to be close to the trails at Shawnee National Forest. It was like staying at a friendly Uncles guest house. Our host was personable and helpful, although the place was not as clean and orderly as it could have been.. it felt a little like someone was living there and just quickly relocated so we could stay the night. It was isolated and quiet and served our purpose - so we were happy.

    The property manager was very accommodating. The cabin was beyond my expectations. Its was clean, spacious, and secluded. It would be my first choice for when I stay in that area again.

    Just what I needed

    I needed a quiet getaway and that's what I got. Cozy and comfortable cottage feel. I would definitely come stay again! When GPS says you have arrived, dont panic just keep traveling down the highway and you'll see the mailbox is labeled brightly so you can find it!!

    Listing, I felt, was an exaggeration. Did not mention there is another dwelling within 30 yards of this property. Left after one evening, not what we had in mind.

    The setting was beautiful. Directions were ok to get there, except the mailbox is no longer black, it's bright green. It doed have ac- a 110v window unit for the whole cabin and 3 filthy floor fans. The floors and walls were dirty and the drawers in the bedroom were so gross we left our clothes in our suitcase. I also had a cold shower the first night bc the breaker was flipped for the water heater. There weren't any notes to tell us to turn it on- my husband just figured it out. The placement of the TV isn't quite right and would be better on the east wall opposite the couch, instead of at the foot of the couch. The shower still had an old rusty razor and there was a bunch of food in the fridge. Cute place- needs a deep cleaning!

    Quiet location

    There are many outdoor recreation locations in this area. The cabin was a nice place to rest up. It has a DVD player and local digital tv. The kitchen was well equipped with all the staples available.
