BE AWAREThe place has inconvenient quirks and the host is not very accommodating. Be aware of parking as I received a citation and the host was not communicative of how it would be taken care of. It took weeks for me to receive a response.

Hershel was very easy to work with, very prompt with any questions we had. The rental was very clean, plenty of space for two, and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet, location was great.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay. The property is truly a stunning oasis, beautifully decorated, incredibly clean, and very comfortable. The location in the historic Shaw neighborhood was perfect for us, providing a quiet and peaceful retreat. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything I needed, and the laundry setup was a fantastic convenience. My host was perfect, communication was seamless, and I had zero issues throughout our entire stay. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a top-notch experience and would definitely stay here again.

Host was great. He provided us with all the information about the apartment as well as a wonderful restaurant recommendation. The apartment was very clean and well stocked. The location was very close to the Metro which allowed us to visit all the sites around the entire Washington DC area with ease.Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Hershel's property. It was clean and spacious, and we had everything we needed while there including a washer and dryer. The location was fantastic, very close walk to restaurants and shopping and the green line. The owner and his family live on the floors above the unit so you can occasionally hear them or smell food they are cooking. The living room furniture could be a little more comfortable but it was not bad. We would certainly stay there again.

Perfect Location!

My 11 year old son and I came to visit DC for a week, and this was the perfect spot for our "home base". Metro station right around the corner, MANY food options markets within walking distance. Very safe neighborhood!Highly Recommend

Great Experience

We spent 6 days at this location, and were pleased with our stay. Short walk to a nearby Metro station. Everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and it was a real bonus to have a washer and dryer on-site. I would not hesitate to book this again if traveling to Washington DC in the future.

Great Location

Stayed for 5 nights and the convenience to the Green line couldn't be better. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Space was spotless and enjoyed that it had a full kitchen and bath for being a lower unit.

Hidden Gem

Herschel was great about communication prior to our stay and was happy to swiftly provide the extra blanket/s I requested. The property is quiet and comfortable on a cosy street. Appeared exactly as shown in the listing. Comfortable bed and living area with a well functioning kitchen, laundry, and bathroom. We enjoyed the small patio area as well for some late afternoon gelato in the sunshine. Truly, the only downside I can think of is that it is not suitable for folks who cannot do a short flight of stairs. We are hoping to return next year, as we had such a marvelous time. Staying here was vastly superior to staying at the conference hotel.

Good but Challenging

The property was very contemporary in style and easy on the eyes. Very spacious area. Most basic needs were met. Parking was challenging. No on site parking existed for tenants though the web site advertised on site parking. This is the primary reason we rented this particular VRBO. As a result street parking was necessary but difficult to find and varied day to day. We received a 45.00 ticket for parking at the wrong time since we didn’t see the sign in the dark of night. Some dangerous concerns were experienced: lighting was limited at the door and two family members twisted their ankles and fell; the bathtub bottom was slippery (no rubber mat or safety strips and no grab bars); the bedroom light switch was faulty. We were concerned that no towel racks or hooks existed in the bathroom to dry our towels and hang our clothes. We never met the host but he did respond in a timely manner to emails on the VRBO site. The location was convenient to restaurants and shops.

Super nice place in a great location

Really nice, clean & comfortable place with everything we needed. A block from the metro station made it even better. Walking distance to Whole Foods, CVS and several restaurants. It was exactly as described in the listing and we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect home away from home

My daughter and I stayed for one week and were very comfortable. Perfect location and within 15 minutes walking distance to everything we needed. We felt safe even at night coming back late hours. Hershel was responsive and attentive. Looking forward to staying again on my next trip back to DC.

Great spot for meeting at convention center

Had business trip for meeting at convention center. Property is as described: very clean, very spacious, very comfortable. Was greeted by owner at check-in. You can hear upstairs floor, but it was not overly disturbing (I was also at the meeting most of the day). Both heat (it was cold/rainy one day) & AC worked great; has microwave, dishwasher, and washer/dryer (great for drying wet clothes!). The Metro is under 5min walk to Green line (so direct to Convention Center; and easy transfer (under 25min) from Amtrak/Union station). VERY easy to get around on Metro. Safe neighborhood-I returned late numerous nights, never felt unsafe. Easy walk to several great restaurants, Trader Joe, CVS, etc.

Spacious apartment in great location

This is a roomy, fully equipped apartment in a great location in D.C. Hosts are very hospitable and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Great Place!

This property worked out perfectly for me and my husband. We were in DC for 10 days and it was an excellent location for seeing all the sights. The nearest metro station was a block away and the neighborhood was very walkable with lots of cool restaurants nearby. The Oasis was just that, clean, comfortable with all the amenities we needed and a great host. Highly recommend.
