Ruth's Retreat was the perfect getaway for two. Extremely clean, cozy and quiet with beautiful views.

What an utterly charming property! The views were spectacular, and the place immaculate and peaceful. We never turned the TV on, so can’t speak to that, but WiFi worked well. Finding the drive down to the river was a minor hiccup, but easily driven once discovered, and the walk down to the river could be accomplished for most. We came for the fishing, but found we spent more of our time on the deck enjoying the view, strumming a few chords, and relaxing. Betty went the extra mile with her place—loved the towels, the shampoo and soaps she provided, the book of places to visit and restaurants noted….and the little treats were a wonderful welcome touch!We’ve been using VRBO for decades, and found this place to be in the top ten of rentals we’ve used!!

Great place for a quiet getaway

Highly recommend! We came up to fish the SoHo and the cabin location was ideal. Cabin is very clean, well equipped and has beautiful views of the river and countryside. Check in was a breeze. Really enjoyed our stay. We'll be back.

Paradise on the South Holston River

This was the perfect place for our visit to the area! We had an absolutely beautiful view with all the modern amenities in our cabin. My husband had a great time fishing and the trout were accommodating. We were very comfortable and will definitely will be back.

Diamond in the Rough

My husband and I stayed here for a weekend at the races. This cabin was absolutely perfect for us and our 2 dogs. The location was convenient to downtown Bristol and the track (basically 20 minutes to everywhere). The place was super clean and the views were amazing. We really enjoyed coffee on the deck and the peace and quiet, with the only sounds being the mooing of the cows. Wonderful place to stay!

Wonderful place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The cabin was beautifully decorated and very clean. It had all the things you need for a most enjoyable time. The deck with grill was perfect for relaxing and watching the river and beautiful scenery. Close to town and close to Bristol Motor Speedway. This is an excellent place to stay.

Remarkable Vacation. On the Reserve

The accommodations and view of this eastern Tennessee location Is one for the memory book. If you are looking To wake up with $1 million view this is the place. The cabin was perfect for us,… One of the best kept secrets on the South Holstein River. The owners had our best interest in mind and really made our stay very special. We will definitely be returning

Anniversary Getaway

Beautiful property and cabin. Fully stocked with anything you would need. Lots of things to do nearby...music downtown Bristol, antique shopping Elizabethton, beautiful lake and outdoor area South Holston dam and of course beautiful, relaxing, fishing South Holston river at the bottom of property. Great place if you like to fish or just sit by the river and read.

Excellent Cabin view of the Holston Mountains on South Holston River

We have stayed at a lot of cabins through the years it was our favorite of all times. The owner had added so many personal touches (snacks, coffee and a fresh bag of ice). Fishing was good and there was plenty of shoreline to catch nice rainbow and brown trout. Very quiet surroundings and we will be back.

Great time!

This place is great if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city! Betty was very nice and quick to respond when I had questions. The cabin was very clean and located right on the river. Will definitely stay again!
