Meet Your Hosts: Annette & Buddy

Hi there! We’re Annette and Buddy, both retired educators from the beautiful state of Florida. After spending decades in education, we now enjoy a slower pace of life filled with outdoor adventures, travel, and spending time with family.

We first discovered this area in 2018 and quickly fell in love with its natural beauty, peaceful surroundings, and welcoming community. It became our go-to escape, and eventually, we decided to build a cabin here — a cozy getaway we could enjoy ourselves and share with others when we're back in Florida.

As your hosts, we’re committed to providing a clean, comfortable, and relaxing space where you can unwind, explore, and make memories. Whether you're here to fish, hike, relax, or simply disconnect, we hope you enjoy the cabin as much as we do.

Our cabin sits right on the beautiful Watauga River, offering peaceful, riverfront views that change with the seasons. One of our favorite ways to spend the day is kayaking or simply relaxing on the porch, watching the river roll by. For those interested in fishing, the Watauga is known for its excellent trout waters. We can suggest local fishing guides, as access and regulations are specific to this area. In the evenings, there's nothing better than unwinding outside and taking in the sights and sounds of nature.

While the setting feels tucked away and serene, we love that downtown Johnson City is just 10 minutes down the road — giving us the best of both worlds. You'll find great restaurants, shopping, live music, and all the amenities of a vibrant city. The area is also home to excellent medical facilities, major universities like ETSU, and with the Tri-Cities Airport just 30 minutes away, it’s easy to get here and start enjoying your stay.

Willow Cabin is our newly built, cottage-style retreat, just completed in August 2025. Located approximately 300 yards from the main complex, it offers a peaceful sense of privacy while still being conveniently close to everything you might need.

This quaint riverside cabin was designed with comfort, charm, and outdoor living in mind. It features a spacious back porch overlooking the Watauga River — perfect for sipping your morning coffee, watching the water flow by, or simply unwinding in the fresh mountain air. You'll also enjoy a dedicated cook shack for outdoor meals and a cozy firepit area, ideal for evenings under the stars.
