Nice size house...

This was a great size house for a family gathering. The pool on the property and the beach access are perfect. Didn't think we'd need 2 dishwashers but it sure was nice to have them!

I will say the location, the pool and the beach were perfect. I found there was a lot of wear and tear on the house and we had to keep notifying the host of situations boards falling out Nails exposed toilets, not working. It was a very worn out house and needed to be maintained better. The board on the outdoor shower was off a board on the third floor fell off almost hitting one of our kids. The garbage was supposed to be taken out never was on Tuesday the pool and the hot tub wer to be cleaned mid week that never happened. They never made the upper bunkbeds. We had to do it ourselves. The lock on the pool was not working. There were multiple things wrong and I felt terrible. Keep notifying the host, but I felt I was put in a situation. The house was so worn for the price I was told 8000 was everything included the bill that I paid was 12,000 finally said and done that was above and beyond what I wanted to spend for the house that was pretty much worn out completely they were outdoor lights that didn’t work. I had to tell them the barbecue that was there was hideous. They bought us a new one thank goodness I as a renter should not have to have done that I feel that once a week at the end of the week, they should have somebody walk through the house. Look to see what repairs are needed. That wasn’t my job. I think they’re going to have to reimburse me or pay me for having to tell them also after 2nd day no replies to my text. Let me know who will send me a partial refund?.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Patricia. We're glad you enjoyed the location, pool, and beach, but we're sorry that the condition of Redemption - #912 and the number of maintenance concerns affected your stay. We understand how frustrating it can be to encounter multiple issues during a vacation, particularly when you have to spend time reporting them. Our team has been in touch with you regarding your concerns and is currently reviewing your request for compensation, as well as the best way to address the issues you experienced. We appreciate your patience while we work through this with you.

Redemption getaway

Our family went on our yearly vacation this past summer and stayed at Redemption in Rodanthe. It rained 5 out of the 7 days we were there which broke our hearts because our family loves to sit on the beach all day and evening BUT thankfully we were in the house because it was everything we could have imagined to keep us entertained and cozy. We all joked that we actually were able to rest on vacation this year since we weren’t getting worn out on the beach. Great memories were made with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins thanks to Redemption! We will def be back!

Needs Updates....

The rental company is GREAT, very attentive and responsive. Pool is great, hot tub and beach location are wonderful. The kitchen is wonderful, everything you can need. BUT, the house looks like a shack from the outside, rust, needs paint, the inside smells like mold and must. It has old damp carpet, there was mold on the tub (The rental company did come clean it when asked) It is def the worst looking house next to its neighbors. Also beware, the wifi is sketchy, there is NO modern technology in the house so if you have teens, beware. Also, there is NOTHING around, the restaurants are open and closed at random times, they do not answer the phone or deliver. It's VERY hard if you have small kids to plan dinners unless you cook every single meal. There is nothing on doordash, uber eats etc. You are really isolated. Also other than fishing, and boats, there is nothing to do. Not even a movie theatre. Just NOT best for families if you want to do anything other than be a beach bum....we will not go back here. But again, the rental company is great, this house just paled in major comparision to others we have stayed at.

Elizabeth, thank you so much for your lovely compliments on our staff and the service they provided you. We also appreciate your glowing description of the home, pool, hot tub, kitchen, and beach location! Other guests will be grateful to read those details. We are glad to pass on your suggestions for sprucing up and improving the property with the owner of the home. We are sorry to hear you did not find Hatteras Island’s relaxed and unspoiled nature as charming as we do (we guess it is not for everyone!). Thank you also for your compliments for our company. We really appreciate it! -Your friends at Surf or Sound Realty

Perfect location, but housekeeping was way below par.

We Loved the house, the pool and the location. Unfortunately, the house had not been fully cleaned, so I cleaned as soon as I walked in so we would feel comfortable being there. The kitchen cabinets were dirty, the hardwood floors hadn't been mopped, the LR furniture was stained, and the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. It appeared to be weeks of buildup.. Housekeeping apologized and offered to return the cleaning fee, which I haven't received and it has been over a month. I called them and they have not responded.
