Being Seniors, it was difficult getting onto the porch without handrails. Also the toilet is low and nothing to hold on to to get up and down. I realize this could also be a handicap persons problem. That's the reason I felt.it necessary to point it out
Great location for exploring Mt Magazine State Park đ
VERY well-stocked home making it easy to eat in, nice little patio in the big backyard, fun tree swing, comfy beds and quiet neighborhood. Easy drive to Main Square, groceries, post office, shopping and restaurants.
Quiet, small town with a nice variety of restaurants, and their Eiffel Tower was cute!
The house is cute but very grimy.
The couch needs to have the cushions taken off and mouse poop cleaned up. The couch also need to be pulled out and cleaned underneath and behind it.
I would also recommend letting people know that itâs a kurig for the coffee maker.
Overall I was pretty uncomfortable due to the lack of cleanliness. Itâs a super cute house and the neighborhood was fine. It was close to town which was good but I wish there would have been a little more attention to the details of keeping it clean.
The yard was terrible. Dog feces abundant. The yard was full of leaves. The bathroom faucets were coming out of the wall. The roku tv never did work right.
Cooking appliances (pots, pans, bbq pit) were extremely limited or not available for use. Had a problem with ants. Overall is a nice, quiet house to stay in.
Quaint home in the center of Paris. The owner communicates readily and the home was what you would expect for one built in the early 20th century. Kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable.
We rented this property for 4 weeks and left a week early. I notified the owner we had vacated but she never replied or inquired as to why. So I'm including those details in this review. The pictures and description emphasize cute, farm house decor but conveniently exclude the junk cars within 25 feet of the house and the garbage overflowing in the shed behind. When asked the owner downplayed a previous review about nearby barking dogs but after enduring 4-6 of them barking day and night (easily outcompeting our two white noise machines) we moved out a week early.
We've rented with VRBO/Home Away for probably15 years in 8 or 10 different states -- anywhere from 4 day to 4 week stays -- and this was by far our worst experience ever. Bathroom and kitchen faucets are in disrepair. The mattresses are horrible! Beds rumpled with sheets and towels strewn around and so stained and worn I couldn't tell if they were clean or not so washed everything the first night before using anything. The poorly equipped kitchen made it difficult to cook for a long term stay. Can opener was broken. All cleaning supplies were almost empty. There was a good supply of toilet paper and paper towels but we had to buy several other things.
The place is cutesied up but needs a good deep cleaning. Sticky fingerprints all over appliances and tv. Dusty furniture, dirty closets, windowsills and kitchen cupboards. (Yard pesticides stored in the kitchen?) We found trash and dirty socks behind furniture when looking for electrical outlets. The Hurby Curby in the shed had overflowed so badly it took us 2 weeks of pickup days to get it all hauled out and taken away. Besides the dogs there was a lot of hot rodding day and night. This is a noisy neighborhood but
the townspeople were very nice and we enjoyed hiking and biking out in the state parks. This location might work for a day or two, but is not suitable for a long term stay and we won't be going back.
What little time we were at the home we were able to walk down town at the square and see the Eiffel Tower and the locks. House is very close to town. Nice clean town house and town. I do not want to ruin the rating of the house as it was enjoyable, however, we had barking dogs outside our windows for hours and did not get much sleep. Both nights. The place is nice and had coffee for in the mornings, plenty of towels, and shampoo. hallelujah! We would stay there again.
The home is located centrally and in a quiet neighborhood where walking can be enjoyed. We shopped locally, visited Mt. Magazine State Park and ate a variety of restaurants.
My brother and father spent 30 days at this nice location while their property was being repaired. The owner was very responsive to our needs and made special arrangements for their arrival. I would highly recommend this property.
I grew up in Paris but live now in Texas with my husband and son. We love to escape the city to visit my family and hometown as much as possible and this home allows us to do that:) We hope that you will love my hometown getaway as much as we do!
