Great little space

Wonderful little place to stay. Comfortable beds, clean place, great location. It was cute and cozy. Would definitely stay again!

Very clean and conveniently located. Walls are very thin, can hear everything going on in another apartment. It’s so close to the airport and the perfect spot for my friends and I for the weekend

Cute little place to stay

Alvin was very responsive and extremely helpful with any questions and suggestions. We LOVED the patio to relax after a busy day exploring the Bay Area. Close to great dining and several fun places to explore. We had everything we needed here.

Super Quaint & Quiet & Clean

This little 2 bedroom was perfect. It's exactly as pictured and super clean. The bedrooms are large and both have king beds. Ideally located for a quick trip anywhere in the Bay area. The back deck was charming and nicely treed. It has all the amenities you will need and because I was there for work, I especially appreciated how quiet it was at night. A true little gem! I'll book here again.

R&R spot

#1 you need a car to get around this area. Food, grocery and convenience stores close by. Very quiet - sky lights make it bright and help me adjust from jet lag. Great spot!

Reasonably priced and convinient stay

Property is a unit at the back of a house with separate entry. There was plenty of space for family of 4 (2 kids). Kitchen had the necessary basics and check in was easy. There is a park with playground walking distance from the property. Street parking is hit and miss - we arrived later in the evening and had to park pretty far from property. As other reviews mentioned -no central heating. There is one portable heater and it took some time to get the temperature up in the bedrooms and common area. Host mentioned it is an electrical breaker issue to add more heaters. Once house heated up it was ok. Perhaps adding a few throw blankets or electric heated blankets can make it more cosy. Overall it was a good spot to stay and we would stay again

Chilly nights

While the property’s description was mostly accurate(and the bed was very comfortable) there were a couple major issues. The first issue was with the amenity “heating”. It was quite chilly in San Mateo during our stay and the only heat source was a small portable heater in the living area. The heater worked, but did not stay on for any appreciable time. And there was no way to heat the bedrooms as there wasn’t adequate space to use that heat source safely. The second had to do with the smoke detectors, or rather, lack of them. Instead of smoke doctors there were holes in the ceiling - apparently where detectors had been.

Easy access to 101 and bay area

Great location for our family's vacation. Easy access to the 101 made exploring the bay area easy. The 2 bedrooms, kitchenette, bathroom, and living area was ample space for our group on 3. The only downfall was the parking - available street parking in the neighborhood was at a minimum. We would consider renting again when in the area.

Our short visit to San Fran

Lovely apartment in San Mateo. Nicely located in a quiet neighbourhood, and just 30 mins from the centre of San Fran. Kitchen appliances look newly purchased. USB extension leads in kitchen area. Large TV’s in all rooms. Garden and decking to rear, which is a little sun trap when the weathers right. No keys to collect, or look after, as the door locks via a code. Alvin the host reply’s quick to any questions. Local shops a few minutes drive away Can recommend, and would stop over again Thx Alvin

Very happy with this home

We enjoyed our stay. It was very clean, the beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed. The location is perfect for exploring the Bay Area. I would stay again.

Overall Good experience

Stayed here for a recent trip, and the place was in a decent neighborhood and the place was nice. super clean and roomy, and the layout was great. Everything was great, the only downfall was that there was no heater/ac and the place got really really cold. there was a small plug in heater but sadly it didn’t do much! Also, the smoke alarms were removed and I didn’t feel very comfortable with that, hopefully they can be installed soon! thank you for the stay!

Xmas visit.

My son and I visited family in San Mateo over Xmas. The apt. was close to family. The weather was unusually lousy. Won't blame you for that. It was a great place to stay. Morning coffee and breakfast that we fixed. Hope to stay again with you.

Great location. Gracious host. Good times.

Alvin was very proactive with informing me on everything I needed to know about his expectations, getting into the house, and things to do in the area. The house was very tidy upon arrival and the location was a great distance from the beach and San Francisco and had lots of good stores almost in walking distance. Definitely would stay there again:)
