Not what one would expect
The best part of the trip was the boat tour. The lake and area are beautiful.
Please match the online listing to signs posted in the suite (e.g. Pool hours only 6am to 9pm). Check-in was confusing and not advised when requesting it in advance. Pool area is not very private with a half-frosted glass partition wall next to the hostâs TV/common area.
The lakeside suite was not peaceful. The cottage only a few feet away had loud young adults (8+) with no privacy from them staring down at us when outside. There were also construction noises. Inner window condensation prevented enjoying the view from indoors (uncleanable). Deck rot was unsightly and dangerous (causing tripping). No food delivery required multiple daily trips to town, taking up so much time.
Host should not bring up religion/another personâs faith or pry about church attendance. A personâs accent/background/genetic features should not be a topic you bring up or other peopleâs diet choices unless they share this or ask you for advice. Asking what guests are going to do each day is rude. It is impolite to pry.
Intrusion and forced long conversations with host. Imposing on guests takes precious time away from limited time off and celebrating a special occasion. Staying for over an hour and talking while guests are outside eating, asking what we were eating/drinking, sharing sad stories/health challenges and crying was not appropriate. Guests should not be used as therapy. It was not a peaceful or enjoyable stay.
