We had a wonderful time at Otter Run. The home features an open floor plan, beautiful wooden beams and ceiling, and a cozy fireplace, perfect for a vacation in the Pacific Northwest. The home was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking, including a large stock pot, seafood cracker utensils, and variety of seasoning and spices which worked great for Dungeness crab. We enjoyed fishing right off the bank and caught several cutthroat trout. We also had fun watching the local otters, seals, and ducks swimming in the river. The location is perfect for watching sunrise over the river and sunset over the mountains. It was nice and quiet, with Nehalem, Wheeler, and Manzanita a short drive away for restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, and crabbing. Oswald West State Park is nearby with amazing hiking and ocean views at Short Sand Beach, Cape Falcon, Elk Flats, and Treasure Cove. Ted was a great host and was quick to respond. He provided recommendations for different activities in the area and had numerous brochures and maps available to explore the Oregon Coast. We highly recommend Otter Run and would gladly visit again.

That certainly wasn't necessary as I have plenty of coolers. If you'd like to keep that new cooler, next time you are down at the coast, drop by and I'll give it back. Got so lucky with this location! Usually book in Manzanita but just two miles away sits possibly the best location on the banks of the Nehalem River. A natural paradise! Great house, huge deck, and the whole Nehalem River valley unfolds at your feet! Super sweet spot!

This was an awesome rental, but a little huge for 2 people. The dog loved the property too! The kitchen was well stocked with every sort of appliance, small appliance, spice, and coffee makers. We were so comfortable and entertained at Ted’s place, that we had to make ourselves go to the beach. The TV had every app possible, and our dog loved the gathering of toys. Ted was right, enjoying the view of the river, the wildlife and fishermen, as well as the hot tub, was relaxing. A perfect place for a family reunion. Communication with the host was ideal. The property is well-maintained, full of light, and space. We’ll definitely return, but with more people to share this wonderful place,

Beautiful home by the river and very close to beaches!

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, spacious home! The hot tub was lovely and the kitchen was wonderfully large and well stocked with cookware and spices! It was a great place to relax with our pups and was conveniently close to shops and Manzanita beach. Would be happy to stay again!

Lovely property right on the river. Comfortable bed. The house is well equipped and the hot tub felt great after long days of hiking. Got to see lots of wildlife while relaxing on the deck.

Wonderful Relaxing Stay

This home on the river is a great place to unwind and enjoy a beautiful view. It has a homey feel and you can tell it is loved by the owners. Drinking coffee on the deck in the morning, enjoying the hot tub and visiting nearby Manzanita were some of our highlights!

Lovely, comfortable home & beautiful view of river

Excellent communication from owner. Well stocked kitchen items, bath & bed linens, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. Happy to chill out at this home, using the hot tub, watching the river & seeing the night sky away from the city. Lots of scenic places to hike & enjoy the ocean in this area, too. Loved reading the history of how the home was built. We found it extremely comfortable to stay here.

Could not recommend this place more. Great space, great location and amazing hospitality. We were lucky enough to enjoy sunshine on the beautiful deck! Ted was a wonderful host. Can’t wait for our next stay.

Birthday weekend

Spent the weekend with some great friends from Montana and enjoyed the beautiful house on the river. The hot tub was great and we were sad to leave once our visit was over. Overall great house, I grew up staying at my grandparents house in wheeler where they always had everything you needed and this house felt just like that, warm and comfortable

Quiet and serene

Lovely place to stay. Quiet and right on the river and about 15ish minutes to the manzanita beach. Fully stocked and absolutely beautiful. You can tell lots of love, blood , sweat and tears went in to building this lovely home. Only suggestion I would make is to put non-slip treads on the rugs in the kitchen and halls.

Piece of heaven

My friends and I loved our stay on the Nehalem River. It felt very private, relaxing, and cozy. We were within 45 minutes of all the places we wanted to go to other than the airport and Multnomah falls which made it a great experience as well. The hot tub was a huge win for us, we spent each evening of it soaking in the hot tub laughing, relaxing, and enjoying the view. I would recommend this place to everyone wanting to stay on the Oregon Coast.

Love the old charm, mixed with the newer amenities, everything worked good, couldn't find the hot tub key. Enjoyed a small fireworks display across the river.

Private spot on the river

Perfect place to enjoy the Oregon coast. Easy to get to, away from the busyness of 101 and very comfortable. Loved the open floor plan and stocked with everything we needed. The views up and down the river are great. Very quiet at night and dark enough to see the stars.

Beautiful house

This house is absolute beautiful! It is well stocked with linens and kitchen items. Ted is very easy to communicate with and is very accommodating. The fully fenced porch is great for the dogs too. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful home with a stunning view and close to the beaches! The only issue we encountered was with the hot water - on the morning we left, we only had cold water for showers. I informed Ted so hopefully the issue’s been resolved.
