A nice experience in Rome

This is the first time my wife and I traveled to Rome and the first time we used HomeAway for a stay out of home. Fulvio's property Mamaroma fulfilled our expectation. In the center of a peaceful neighborhood of the "Ancient Rome", accessibility to bus and Metro and all we needed for our 10 days stay. Fulvio is a friendly helpful person who was waiting to receive us and gave special tips. I highly recommend others this comfortable apartment.

PIED A TERRE ROMAIN TRES AGREABLE

Appartement très propre, lumineux, très bien équipé. L'immeuble est de type bourgeois et (petit plus), en face d'une pizzeria (un peu "cantine" très très conviviale et qui fait d'excellentes pizzas) ! Malgré le fait qu'il ne soit pas en plein coeur de Rome, les bus ou métro pour rejoindre tous les centres d'intérêt se trouvent à une dizaine de minutes de marche de l'appartement. Dès notre rencontre, Fulvio s'est montré très prévenant et de très bons conseils. Il a pris le temps de nous recevoir et a été vigilant au bon déroulement de notre séjour. Il est certain que nous reviendrons bien volontiers à MamaRoma. Grazie molto Fulvio !!

L'appartement est très propre, bien situé. Il permet de découvrir Rome à pied. Les commerces sont à proximité et la pizzeria au pied de l'immeuble est excellente. Merci Fulvio pour votre accueil, votre fiabilité et vos bons conseils.

Un très bel appartement dans un quartier encore relativement peu touristique

L'appartement est grand et plaisant à vivre : on se sent chez soi. Et il dispose d'un ascenseur. Il est également proche de tout mais dans un environnement encore authentiquement romain, en face d'une pizzeria très appréciée des habitants du quartier; L'accueil de Fulvio fut chaleureux. Nous reviendrons sûrement

Appartement très confortable et bien situé.

L'appartement, au 3éme étage avec ascenseur dans un bel immeuble, est grand, confortable, très clair et fonctionnel, décoré avec beaucoup de soin et de goût, comme sur les photos. Tout est neuf et très propre. Royal pour deux, mais avec un autre couple cela aurait été parfait aussi. Le prix est tout compris ( hormis les taxes de séjour à payer à l'arrivée comme dans toutes autres locations) donc pas de mauvaises surprises. Nous avons été accueilli très chaleureusement par Fulvio et Claudia, très prévenants et efficaces, malgré notre retard sur l'heure prévue. En effet notre valise a été égarée à l'aéroport mais, grâce à eux et à leurs nombreux coups de fil, elle nous a été rapportée le lendemain soir à l'appartement. Fulvio et Claudia nous avait également réservé un chauffeur privé qui nous a prit en charge à l'aéroport . Très pratique quand on débarque le soir ! L'appartement est bien situé, dans un quartier calme, avec une très bonne pizzeria juste en face de l'immeuble, et des commerces de proximité très pratiques . Il est possible de visiter tout Rome à pied à partir de l'appartement, mais nous avons aussi apprécié le métro Piramide à 5-7 mn à pied, et la ligne de bus à deux pas, ainsi que pour notre retour, la ligne de train vers l'aéroport Fiumicino à 10mn à pied. Nous recommandons chaleureusement cette location ainsi que ses propriétaires charmants et de toute confiance. Si nous revenons à Rome, ce sera là !

Damienne et son mari ont été invités parfaits, il y avait un lien entre nous depuis qu'on s'est rencontrés grâce à leurs gentillesse. Deux personnes solaires et très polis qui ont traité la maison avec précision et délicatesse. Ils sont parvenus à transformer la relation hôte - clients en quelque chose de plus beau et significatif. Est pour cette raison que nous espérons un jour à rencontrer nouveau, quelque part dans le monde. Damienne and her husband were the perfect guests with whom we were soon in tune thanks to their natural kindness and communication skills . Two solar and exceedingly polite people who treated our flat with great care. Two respectful and discreet people, with their smile have transformed the simple relationship "host - guests" into something more beautiful and meaningful . For this reason we hope to meet them again, someday, somewhere in the world. Thanks Damienne and Jean! Sehr gepflegte schöne Wohnung in bester Lage

Die Wohnung ist ein Juwel und liegt im ruhigen Viertel Testaccio, von wo aus man an alle Sehenswürdigkeiten gut angebunden ist. Fulvio ist ein sehr sympathischer und hilfsbereiter Vermieter, der zudem sehr gut Englisch spricht. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Excellent Spot to Stay When in Rome

This apartment was in a great location in Testaccio. The apartment was very comfortable for four people with the bedroom and sofa bed. The apartment was in a quiet area of Rome so you could get away from the bustle of the big city. All the major sites were easily in walking distance. Fulvio was very helpful throughout the trip and responded quickly when we had questions. He helped us get oriented with the apartment and the the area. He had some great recommendations for things to see and places to eat. We would definitely recommend this property and would love to return to the apartment on another trip to Rome Grazie Fulvio

Great apt in a great neighborhood.

My husband and I spent 4 nights in this wonderful apartment. We expected it to be a small city dwelling, but were pleasantly surprised at how spacious, clean and well appointed it was. Fulvio is a sweetheart and his guidance was very helpful. Staying in Testaccio was a treat since you are in a real neighborhood and away from the bustle of the center, yet still near enough to walk everywhere. If we return to Rome, we would definitely stay here again.

A handy place to stay, particularly if you have been to Rome before and know your way around a bit.

An immaculate little air conditioned apartment in a very active section of Rome. The Testaccio neighborhood is packed with good, local style restaurants where the food won’t disappoint. Most have English speaking staff, and some have translated menus. For convenience there is Giolitti - one of Rome’s best known gelaterias - and a great carry out pizza shop right across the street, plus a nice sit down or carry out pasticceria around the corner. MamaRoma is on the 3rd level up (there’s an elevator on a landing up 8 steps from the entry - it’s not handicapped accessible) so it’s a bit above the din, plus it’s high enough that spring & fall sunlight makes it a bright place via a large streetside window. It’s situated a few steps off of Via Marmorata, a busy thoroughfare, so buses and trolleys to many of Rome’s attractions are literally a minute outside the front door. Although Testaccio is not a tourist area in Rome - it’s a busy city streetscape complete with all of the good and not so good of a city - it is totally crime free (we had no concerns walking the neighborhood after dark) and situated midway between the Forum ruins and the Vatican. The apartment lists 2 bedrooms on some sites, but one is really part of the “great room” which served as living, dining & second bedroom. Not a lot of privacy for guests 3 & 4, but the unit is perfect for a couple. Kitchen is adequate, with a dishwasher, microwave, 4-burner stove, refrigerator, toaster and tiny table. Hot water is plentiful & bathroom is spacious enough, save the tiny shower, which is common in Europe. Closet space is more than adequate in the one bedroom. The bed was fine - we both slept well. Fulvio is a gracious host who communicates well in preparation for his guests. Just one request for Fulvio - please install a hanging soap and shampoo caddy in the shower. If you are renting a car, parking is a real challenge in this neighborhood. It’s every man for himself, and you may end up blocks away. I would recommend an airport limo type service (€45) and public transportation for this location, or parking will drive you crazy. Be appraised that Rome has enacted a new tax on guest lodging that amounts to 7% in cash upon arrival. This in no way detracts from the condition or character of the unit or our gracious host. It’s just a fact of life when staying in Rome.

Excellent location and place to stay!

Fulvio is a great host. The property is clean and has an excellent location about 30 minutes from major attractions. It is a local neighborhood filled with restaurants and coffee shops. This is one of the best places I’ve stayed and Fulvio is such a kind and welcoming host.

Great flat, marvellous location, friendly host

We had a great stay in this very spacious, light and spotlessly clean apartment. The apartment is in a great location, close enough to walk to most sights, but also with very good public transport connections to central Rome and Fiumicino airport. We also loved Testaccio which still seems a real neighbourhood without too many tourists, yet with several good restaurants and the marvellous Testaccio market within a few minutes’ walk. Fulvio is a very friendly and helpful host who welcomed us to the apartment and provided local information in excellent English. Communication, both before and during our stay, was very easy and prompt. We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Light, airy and everything you need

Fulvio the owner was so helpful, even booked our transfers to & from the airport. The apartment was well equipped, clean, light and spacious. We felt safe in the area and only 2 stops from the Colosseum. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return.
