A beautiful lodge and river. My grandchildren totally enjoyed their stay and I think the river was the highlight for them.

This is the second year in a row staying at Waitangi River Lodge, and the second year in a row we've loved our stay. Great location, very large space for entertaining and has all the amenities you need.

Boys golf weekend

The house was perfect. 8 guys away for the weekend. A bed for everyone, plenty of space, clean and tidy facilities. The location on the river was a real bonus. Definitely stay here again.

Family celebration

Amazing place for an extended family get together(16 people). The kayaks on the river were a highlight. The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable. Lovely peaceful setting. Just what we wanted. We couldn’t wish for better.

Very spacious property at a lovely location

We enjoyed the ample interior and exterior space and solitude this property offered on the river bank. The property is a bit aged especially the beds and the kitchen. It is overall a great and comfortable stay! Thanks to Jack for friendly communications! Check in was smooth and easy!

Waitangi River Lodge

We stayed over the Xmas period and throughly enjoyed our time at the house. We are a family group of 14. The children had an amazing time with the Kayaks and the basket ball hoop. The house is large and the 3 acre grounds are beautiful. We will be back. Jack, the Manager was very helpful.

Haururu Falls

Spacious and great grounds. Suggest some additional kitchenware should be considered so that there is full complememnt of various sized pots and fitting lids, good sized non stick pan. Could not find 2nd beater for electric mixer

Property was is a perfect location and suited our needs for space and privacy.

Property was is a perfect location and suited our needs for space and privacy. Unfortunately the house was not in cleanest condition on arrival dead mouse in kitchen bin, tvs didn't work in bedrooms and some lights either didn't work or couldn't be switched off. I think the unwelcome guest running across the floor on Sunday night "Mickey Mouse" had a bit to do with that. Would love to stay again but only if the mice were gone!

Humble apologies for the MM experience. We have had field mice sheltering from the winter weather in the past and had recently caught a few. But for some time now our trap was untouched so thought we were on top of it. We replaced a few light bulbs that had failed after departure and as our visits are invariably in daylight hours we do rely on guests drawing our attention to these. We weren't aware the TV sets did not work and will get this checked.

Fun Summer Break

Great trip with a large group of friends during the new year. Very large property with ample room for guests, cars, boat trailer etc. Handy to Paihia to launch the boat, and the onsite kayaks are a great addition for a paddle in the river. Minutes away from the local shops (Countdown, petrol station etc.) Well equipped kitchen that has everything you need - but bring your own supplies. Plenty of cutlery and kitchenware is provided. Property is on tank water, so make sure you are respectful and keep showers short so as not to waste water. Wifi can be a little slow at times if everyone is using it at the same time, and reception is spotty at the far end of the house - but truth be told you should probably be enjoying the outdoors during a holiday anyway! Overall a great experience, super easy check-in and check-out and the perfect place for a large group.

Peaceful location!

Awesome location next to the Waitangi river. Huge communal space and plenty of beds for our large group. We stayed here for a professional development wānanga and we brought our homeschool tamariki to engage in learning too. We enjoyed the views, while working in the open plan lounge and dining area. The host was very accommodating and responsive. I highly recommend and we will be back! Āku mihi Raiha

Spacious and peaceful retreat

Our group of 12 (3 families) had a wonderful stay at this property. It was very spacious and allowed us all to spread out and relax. The view of the river was very peaceful, and it was lovely having no neighbours nearby. We found the location very handy, with the Haruru Falls and PhatHouse Brewery only 2-3 minutes drive away, and Paihia less than 10 minutes. The kids enjoyed the foosball table and basketball hoop. Communication with the owner was good and easy, and we would happily stay again.

Lovely property for a lovely stay

It was a nice big property that meant the family could stay together whilst family from south visited. There was enough space and utilities and everyone enjoyed themselves. Great location with Paihia just down the road

Home away from home

Beautiful spacious home with great surroundings and good facilities. The view of the river was lovely to wake up to every morning. Great for big families or large groups. Host was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wonderful outlook plenty of room for children to run about.

The kitchen is very tied. Utensils need a good sort out. Bbq works fine if you are happy with that you will love it. Disappointed no tea coffee body wash shampoo or salt. As a bookabach host we would have expected more.

Thanks for your comments which we will take onboard. The property has been let for holidays since 2005, and we have not previously had requests for, or expectation of, tea, coffee, condiments etc. but will provide in future. We do provide soap rather than body wash (which we think is better for the environment). Comments about the kitchen being tired are accepted and we will sort out the utensils in the next day or so. Loved our stay here for our wedding

We had such a great stay at the lodge. My husband and his groomsmen stayed at this house for our wedding and we had our families over for a bbq on the Sunday. Was such a nice spot sitting down in front of the river on the hill. Great facilities, bbq and lots of space. Jack was such a good host, very good communication and went above and beyond. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic stay

The property easily accommodated us (5 adults and 5 children). The location is very good with easy access to paihia Town centre and haruru falls.The children had their first time experience on kayak and they all enjoyed it. Everyone had a good time during the stay and I would recommend it to group of friends or big family.

If the house is going to be used as a bach you...

If the house is going to be used as a bach you can book then it needs some investment put into it and clients treated nicer. We did not leave a mess but were accused of leaving a mess behind after making an effort to make sure we didn’t, all rubbish bagged, dishes done etc etc.
