What an outstanding experience and place to stay - fantastic old farmhouse on a full-on working farm! The house is historic but in great conditon, with everything you need for a great stay. The rural environment is awesome - sheep, cows, working farm dogs (not at the house itself), a stream and just open spaces. The kitchen has everything we needed and loved the large dining table. Bedrooms were very comfortable - 2 x double rooms and 1x twin. We played a few good games of Risk too! Worth checking out Mt Lees Reserve too - much larger than it looks and plenty to enjoy.We were there 8 nights. This place is awesome and highly recommend it. Great communication too.

Amazing country escape

A wonderfully peaceful place to stay. So spacious and very comfortable to sleep. The grounds are stunning and the open fire keeps the house so warm even over night. Loved our stay

Spacious cottage in a great location

Lovely spacious cottage, with a large well equipped kitchen; warm sun traps front and back. Great location for exploring the Manawatu and Whanganui areas, with lots of walking and biking opportunities in easy reach.

Lovely getaway

A lovely, quaint old property that was once a farm cookhouse. Quiet and secluded setting but within easy driving distance of Feilding, Marton and Bulls. A perfect four-day break and we'd be keen to stay again.

Amazing cottage, very peaceful , comfortable with Aircon & dishwasher. Awesum relaxing trip sitting on deck watching the cows and the birds. Our 3rd time here and will be back.

“The cookhouse”

What a wonderful place to stay in the country but also close to such an interesting regional area with so many fascinating places of interest.This cottage is an all time favourite for me because it’s truly a “country cottage.” so peaceful, such a cool setting !

This is the second time we have stayed here and will be back again.Love the peacefulness , privacy and has amazing setting,.Has a awesum orchard the plums are so tasty.The cottage has a warm homely feeling and always incredibly clean with nice touches.The host is friendly and communication easy

Amazing place to get ready for a wedding

Beautiful cottage in an idyllic setting. Myself and my bridesmaids stayed here the night before my wedding and got ready here the morning of. Plenty of space for us all (huge kitchen too), and lots of room for the make up artist and hair dresser to spread out. Communication with the host was lovely, quick and detailed responses. Would 1000% reccomend.
