Downtown Manteo with Secret Garden

Welcome to the "Downtowner". A truly inviting, enjoyable home away from home. This one bedroom suite with separate living room is located as part of a historic home built in 1901 in the town of Manteo with a little bit of everything for you to enjoy. This spacious property with its own porch and entrance. There is one king size bed, a complete tile bathroom with a walk-in shower and a relaxing living room for watching a movie or catching up on emails. The coastal decor and tranquility of the garden will relax you the whole time you're here. The porch is located next to a spacious back yard with a folly for your morning coffee or afternoon cocktail. There are lots of locally owned restaurants in the area for your dining pleasure. The unit's kitchenette consists of a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Downtown Manteo is home to Outer Banks Distillery, Ortegas Southwest Grill, The Avenue Grill, Olives, Poor Richards, Old Town Creamery, Front Porch, Charis Coffee Shop and The Pioneer Theater with a nightly showing at 8pm. Nearby is the Elizabeth II at Festival Park, the NC Aquarium, Elizabethan Gardens and The Lost Colony outdoor drama. Another great holiday weekend in Manteo. The place was great and quiet. It is walking distance to downtown and all the shops.

Space is two rooms with a bathroom. Was fantastic location for us. 1/2 mile from the music pavilion. Downtown even closer. Host was super attentive to a TV problem and came over to fix it. Has a small fridge with microwave All we needed because we ate out. Brought breakfast stuff which is all we needed. Soundproofing was good. A person could watch TV while the other went to sleep All you need to have a great weekend with your partner.

Nice and clean, there happened to be some exterior construction going on during my stay but workers were nice and didn't start too early. Just meant I had to park across the street. Location is good and a short walk to downtown shops. Would stay again.

Manteo Garden Gem

This was a comfortable accommodation with an enjoying garden to hang out in. The walkability to all the cute town of Manteo was fantastic. We enjoyed walking to the coffee shop everyday and the distillery across the street was a fun place to spend the evenings. It is an easy drive to all of the OBX and we liked calling this home for a couple of days. One suggestion, move the kitchenette items from the bedroom and into the living room area with the dining table. I would have enjoyed being able to make my coffee not in the room my husband was trying to sleep in or hearing the refrigerator all night long. But this was a minor nuisance of our stay

Great unit. Great location.

Super convenient location to explore the quaint village of Manteo. Walk to the shops, restaurants and historical sights. Wonderfully restored interior space in an older home. Nicely appointed, comfortable bed, and great a/c. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay

This is perfect for a couple seeking quiet, cozy comfort. Walkable to downtown and your nightcap to go is across the street at the distillery. Close drive to the beach but the advantage over oceanfront is being able to walk to good eats and bars. Try Firetender, great service pizza and smash burgers. This location feels less touristy than points north in obx and we will stay again

Getaway

The suite was very nice , clean and easy access to everything! The only downside was you could hear the guest upstairs and their bed frame needed some DW40 ( if you know what I mean ) . I would definitely recommend this beautiful suite and would stay again

Once I figured out how gwt into the room after a couple of helpful calls to the owner, I was very pleased with how well "equipped" it was, the room(s) had everything I needed even if I just wanted to stay in.

Thanksgiving get away

We traveled down Thanksgiving evening and spent the weekend in Manteo. The Downtowner is our favorite place to stay. The stores and restaurants are within walking distance.

We have stayed here several times. The owners are so nice and responsive. The place is great, the bed is comfortable and the living room has plenty of space.

Cute and great location!

Not having used a non-hotel lodging arrangement before, we were cautious about staying in one. I chose this property based on the attractive pictures and excellent reviews, which did not disappoint. The property was so cute and exactly as the pictures show - very clean and well decorated, with older home charm. We liked the location, the area was quiet and walkable to downtown Manteo, and just a quick drive to Nags Head attractions. We enjoyed this more than a generic hotel and felt we got more for less money, and would stay here again if we travel to the area.

Great place to stay close to downtown Manteo
