Beautiful Property!

I stayed at this property for two nights with friends. The property is beautifully maintained and accommodating. The property manager went above and beyond to make our visit seamless and easy. The level of service felt like a 5-star hotel. Will definitely come back with family & friends!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Dido’s place — it truly had everything we could have asked for, especially for a kid-friendly getaway. The house was beautifully set up, clean, and thoughtfully equipped with all the little extras that made traveling with kids so much easier.The management team was exceptional — responsive, helpful, and available 24/7, which gave us real peace of mind throughout our stay. Every question was answered quickly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.The home itself was just as amazing as the service. Hi, I’m Nila. I'm a Mum and the Owner and Host of Dido’s Place. I’m very hands-on and genuinely love hosting and helping families plan memorable stays.

I’m involved in the local tourism community, which means I enjoy sharing up-to-date recommendations and insider tips to help guests make the most of their time in the Hawkesbury. But more than anything, I care about the experience guests have while they’re here.

When you stay at Dido’s Place, you’re dealing directly with me, not a property manager or another third party. I’m available from your initial enquiry right through to checkout, and I take pride in going the extra mile to make sure everything feels easy, welcoming and well thought out.

Dido’s Place is our family’s home away from home, and I host with the same care and attention I would want for my own family.

We chose the Hawkesbury because it offers the perfect balance of space, nature and adventure. It feels a world away from city life, yet it’s still only around 90 minutes from Sydney, making it easy for families to arrive relaxed rather than exhausted.

What we love most is the sense of openness and calm. There’s room for kids to explore, breathe and play freely, and space for adults to slow down and unwind. The changing seasons, starry nights, fresh air and surrounding farmland create a peaceful backdrop that instantly helps you switch off.

At the same time, the area is full of things to do such as fruit picking, river activities, bushwalks, local markets, historic villages and exploring the nearby Blue Mountains. You can be as active or as relaxed as you like.

For us, the Hawkesbury is about families spending quality time together, feeling connected and enjoying shared adventures, and that’s what we wanted to offer our guests.

Dido’s Place was created by a Mum who has travelled with young children and understands just how hard it can be to find accommodation that truly works for families. This isn’t a generic holiday rental, it’s a home that has been thoughtfully set up based on real-life experience.

What makes us different is the level of care and intention behind every detail. From baby equipment and child-friendly spaces to sensory toys, outdoor adventures and quiet areas for adults, everything has been designed so families of all ages can relax, connect and actually enjoy their time away.

Set on 9 private acres in the Hawkesbury and one of the very few child-friendly holiday homes in the area, guests have the rare combination of space, privacy and activities all in one place with no shared facilities, no need to drive everywhere, and no worrying about kids being bored. Grandparents, parents and children can comfortably stay together while still having room to spread out.

We host a small number of bookings each year so we can maintain high standards and provide a genuinely personal experience. Many of our guests return year after year, and that’s a great testament to the care we put into every stay.
