Get away from the stress and strain of life at this romantic mountain cabin.

Private Mountainside Getaway nestled among the cedars of the Mission Valley mountainside, this newly-renovated cabin is a refreshing destination, a romantic getaway, or a cozy home base for a Montana adventure. At the end of a private road, 1/8 mile from the main house, it is completely secluded.

Easy to get to, but completely off the grid, this clean cabin is comfortable night and day with electric heat / air conditioning. Features full-size washer and dryer, and full-time wifi.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the covered balcony -- in your pajamas, if you like! Relax by the creek as you watch the water tumble over the rocks, explore the shaded cedar groves and ferns along the mossy creekside, and let the stress of busy life melt away as you breathe the clean mountain air.

Make dinner together in the full-size kitchen, grill on the patio (propane grill provided), or call a local restaurant for delivery.

2 bedroom, 1 bath, enclosed garage parking, full kitchen, laundry, and wifi.

Upstairs features vaulted ceilings with timber beams. Main livingroom, kitchen and dining for 4 are upstairs as well as the bathroom/shower. The balcony overlooks a small pond and fish hatchery that houses Westslope Cutthroat trout during spawning season. Upstairs bedroom has a king size bed with vanity sink and large closet.

Bedroom on lower level has a queen size bed, full size couch and television. There is also a cozy reading nook on the lower level as well as a washer and dryer.

Accommodations are on 160 acres of private land with a creek and walking trails just outside the door. Surrounding area is tribal wilderness.

We live in the main house 1/8 mile away and work from home so are available to answer questions or offer assistance at anytime.

We have been off the grid for over 25 years. The hydroelectric generator provides power for three houses so there are a few guidelines regarding use of the high power consumption utilities (oven and dryer).

During the winter months we do our best to maintain the road but do recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle.

Perfect cabin to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The cabin is remote and the area is beautiful. Highly recommend if you like seclusion and nature. Nancy and Rick were exceptional and the communication was great.

Mission Mountain Oasis

This hidden gem was unlike anywhere I have stayed for a family get-together. Nancy was so helpful and responsive to all our needs and her husband's knowledge of the history around the region was absolutely amazing. My father and he had an amazing visit discussing this, as my father was born in Polson in 1949 but didn't grow up there. The little drive up the dirt road to the rental had beautiful scenery and wildlife just hanging out beside the road. Once you got to the cabin we met with Nancy and she was very welcoming and assured us if we needed anything, to not hesitate asking as they lived on the property 1/8 of a mile away. The rental was exceptionally clean and had stocked shelves of dinner and cookware, any spices one might need, and coffee already available for use in a Keurig in the kitchen. The view from the deck just off the living room off the top floor had a bbq and table with 2 chairs that me and my fiance used every morning while enjoying our morning coffee. There are many trails around the cabin, which are definitely worth taking while staying there. Beautiful creak runs through on one of the trails with beautiful little waterfalls. There are bears in the area which Nancy provided bear spray at the rental in case we needed them. Saw markings however never encountered any while on our stay. Not enough space here to include all the wonderful things about this rental. Definitely worth it and I will be back to this gem in the Mission Mountains very soon!!

5 Stars – Beautiful, Peaceful Cabin in the Woods

This cabin in the woods near Ronan was absolutely excellent. It was very clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, perfect for a quiet getaway surrounded by nature. The setting is peaceful and scenic, making it a wonderful place to relax and unwind. Communication with the hosts was outstanding—friendly, prompt, and helpful throughout the entire process. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a comfortable and serene place to stay in the Ronan area!

Nancy and Rick are so kind and welcoming, and their VRBO cabin is absolutely perfect. The cabin looks just the it does in the pictures. You will not be disappointed staying here! We walked some of the trails on the property also, and it's so worth the view at the top. Thank you so much Nancy and Rick for making this such a great trip for us, we will definitely be back!

We rented this as we were attending a wedding at the Sky Ridge Ranch outside of Ronan. It is a beautiful spot with comfortable beds and has everything you need. I wish we could've stayed and done a little hiking.

Amazing Getaway

This property was perfect. It had all the amenities that we needed for our 1 week stay and they were nice enough to keep the firewood stocked for us throughout our stay. We were even able to go on a short hike on the property. It was close enough to Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake that we could do day trips and come back in the evening to enjoy the fire.

Great stay

This place was amazing. I got the opportunity to stay for a month while working and it could not have been a better place to have stayed. The house was perfect and the host was amazing.. Pheasant Hunt

Visited Ronan for Pheasant Hunting on the reservation in October. It was very close to our hunting areas and only 15 minutes to Harvest foods, a full grocery store. Nancy is a great host along with her husband, Rick kept us supplied with firewood for the fire pit. Great hiking on the property. The house is furnished with top notch appliances and furniture. The beds are very comfortable. We will definitely be back. Exceeded alll expectations!

Beautiful, Peaceful, and Impressive

This cabin and property are beautiful, quiet, and secluded. Everything is off-grid and Rick was kind enough to show us how their power grid worked. Very cool! The cabin was one of our favorite parts of our multi-stop trip to Montana.

First-class experience

Nestled in the shadow of the Mission Mountains, this quaint little cabin is the perfect base camp to explore all this part of Montana has to offer or just get off the grid for a bit. Located at the end of a long, unpaved road, it is secluded and peaceful. My wife and I spent each morning and evening on the upstairs porch — just relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature. We took advantage of the trails on the property to hike up to a spot with an amazing view of the surrounding valley, as well. Nancy was a kind and responsive host — who was always a text away. Highly recommended and looking forward to visiting it again in the future.

After a full day of hiking, we spent our evenings just sitting on the upstairs porch, enjoying the quiet of nature. Nancy was always a text away to answer any questions and is a kind host. Hidden Gem!

Absolutely loved it! Every amenity you’d ever need is provided to make the stay comfortable. Beds are heavenly with lovely linens. Location feels remote and isolated but getting to town is easy. Appreciated still being able to connect with family at home but being in the mountains at the same time.

This cottage is located on 160 acres of mostly timbered mountainous land. You're more than welcome to explore the many trails on the property which offer beautiful views of the valley/sunsets and the majestic mountains. You'll come across several fish ponds with Westslope Cuttroat trout in them. These are a species of trout native to Montana. We raise them in ponds to keep them as natural looking as possible.
