We wouldn't say, 'beautiful, newly built cottage?' The kitchen table top was pretty well damaged as well as one of the stool's, missing a chunk of wood. The entire kitchen set was very dirty which we washed down with damp paper towel's and a little dish liquid (nothing else was there). One of the bed's had a broken drawer underneath. We had to move the nightstand to the other side of the room because there was no outlet on the wall where it was and we couldn't use the lamp. We've never seen so many daddy long leg's. The remote control for the fireplace didn't work as well as one of the a.c. remote's, but luckily the one that did work, controlled both a.c.'s. Probably just a battery issue but these are the thing's that need to be checked often. Above the utensil caddy that sat on the kitchen counter daddy long leg's, just hanging, really gross. They were everywhere, including crawling over our phone's and belonging's, the fridge, just everything. My husband had one drop down right in front of his face. We knew as soon as we arrived, it hadn't been cleaned for some time and yes, we should have complained but we aren't that way and they had to know,.... you couldn't miss it. A good cleaning wouldn't be hard for these unit's at all. The bathroom had a foul odor so we closed the door but that only made it worse. We bought and lit candle's. The floor's were very dirty, dead bug's on the plantation blind cord's etc. The tub was full of daddy long leg's, the window's were covered in web's also. The bath mat was already on the floor. I opened the back door to shake it out and was shocked how much dirt/debris came off of it. The water in the shower would change from scalding hot to ice cold with no notice, then the handle fell off. It's a real shame because the cottage is really cute and trendy. Attention to the unit is clearly unimportant. Cleanliness is a big deal to us. We also found out the unit's 'aren't so new.' We were told by a resident couple, they sat out front for 10 year's? Then, another couple who were tent camping had two aggressive dog's that went crazy when another dog walked past while the owner's just screamed at them to shut up. Nice!! We had planned on going for a walk, then changed our mind's after hearing from other's nearby, that those two dog's did end up getting in a fight with another dog. We really wanted to love this place, as we had on-line when we saw it and had even said to each other, we'd rent one again next year but,...
