Cabin was spacious with plenty of room for family. Hot tub was relaxing and the perfect temperature. Views of river were amazing. Enjoyed the pavilion area for play and to access dock with children. Close to town yet right on the river. Would stay again!

Everything you could want!

Our group of 7 adults and 2 young kids absolutely loved our stay at River Watch Lodge. The home is full of character and warmth. It was very clean and had ample space for our family gathering. We enjoyed walking down to the river, seeing the scenic railway train come by, and spending time in the hot tub. It is 10 minutes from town. Communication with the owner was great!

Perfect place for family fun

This stay was a perfect way to wrap up summer before the college-aged kids went back to school. The house has lots of different spaces to hang out and the game room is fantastic for kids of all ages. The arcade style basketball and the nice poker table for an all-generations Texas Hold’em tournament were our favorites. The house was very well-organized (everything is labeled including the stairs) and communication with the owner was great. The location can’t be beat. Highly recommend and we plan to return.

Great Property

Great property with tons of extra thought put in to the available bath amenities, games, cooking supplies, recreational equipment etc. Very clean and well taken care of property. Good communication from property owner. Well though out binder with property and area details clearly listed. Easy access to water via community park area and close to town. Would stay again if in the area.

Our family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our family vacation. The house was very accommodating for everything that we needed, including for our two-year-old. We loved the river at the bottom of the stairs. We caught a couple trout. My children enjoyed the bottom floor, which had tons of fun Games and pool tables, basketball you name it that kept them entertained when we were not outdoors. The house is very beautiful and the view all around it is gorgeous, such a beautiful place to get away to reset from your everyday busy life. You’re surrounded by God‘s creation out there. It’s so beautiful.❀ we were very close to the Blue Ridge town, which we absolutely fell in love with, a lot of very nice shops and restaurants and if you are a coffee drinker, definitely check out mountain mamas coffee shop. It was our favorite coffee shop while we were traveling.

Summer Mountain Vacation

The house was beautiful and in a great location.Mr. Barber was very proactive in helping us with the check in process. Overall, it was a great stay at their home. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be in the mountains and close to the river. 5 Stars!!

Didn’t want to leave!

We had the absolute best stay at River Watch! We felt like we were in a gigantic treehouse and spent so much time on the amazing porches. Everything we needed was provided and there was plenty to do for everyone. Gordon was super friendly and communication back and forth was quick. He even called when we arrived to make sure that we had no issues with check in and gave us some local activity information. We loved everything about this property!

Great retreat

We got groceries on Sunday and never left. We are a busy family but just vegged out on March Madness (Go UConn!) and enjoyed the views and family time. Plenty of space for our 3 kids and wife & I. Loved playing pool and ping pong and reading on the decks.

Great cabin

Very nice. No complaints. Would recommend to anyone. River is far down there but that’s made clear so keep that in mind if you’re trying to be “on” the river. Didn’t bother us but it is a hike down and up.

Awesome family mini vacation !!!!

Our family was looking for somewhere to spend a few days together in the mountains, and this property was PERFECT! We had everything we needed to stay entertained. Games, tvs, scenery - and we loved spending time on the porch! So many places to gather! And all 8 of us were able to sit together at the table for meals. Plenty of space for all of us! And our host was very helpful! He called soon after we arrived and offered many helpful suggestions. We highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away and “stay at the house.” We love Blue Ridge, and we will definitely be going back!

Amazing

The entire family enjoyed the stay. The captain looks exactly like the picture shown on the website it's beautiful. We all enjoyed the entire home, including the basement where the gaming area is,that's where we spent most of the time while at the cabin. We arrived at night, so I must admit that it was a little scary getting to the location. But they're mountains. So you need to be aware that there are a lot of curves and open downs. My only regret is that they don't allow pets. I would have loved to take my little four legged son. I strongly recommend this location.đŸ€—

Amazing!!

We took a trip to celebrate our Son’s 16th birthday. We let him pick the cabin, and he chose this one because there was plenty to do. We had a blast. The boys played the game’s downstairs, the girls were in the hot tub, my husband trout fished and us women relaxed. We brought way to much food and went no where for 3 days. We will definitely be back!!!

Family Thanksgiving

The home was more beautiful than the pictures!!! We were there in fall and had no obstructions of the view to the river. We made the trek down the stairs twice , even the preschoolers did it. Thanks for the benches along the way to rest as we came up!! There was everything we needed in the home for entertainment for a 18 month old up to 61 year olds. So nice to have a cozy fireplace in several places to relax away from others. Even the kitchen was very well equipped for our crowd and even to prepare a Thanksgiving feast!! Loved the large dining table which was a big factor in choosing this home. Getting to town was super quick and easy. Blue Ridge is fun to walk around and also close to day trips for hiking, shopping and wineries. We will be back !!! Thank you to our host for checking us in and answer the one question we had promptly. Loved it!!!

We're Gordon and Karen Barber and we have enjoyed welcoming guests into our vacation home in Hilton Head SC (vrbo 13208) since 2003. We added our mountain home in 2020. We know your vacation time is precious, so we do all we can to make your stays with us enjoyable and memorable. We're very hands-on owners and pride ourselves in adding the little extra touches. We're proud of the fact that many of our guests come back year after year.

We try to make our homes appealing to all ages, providing equipment for babies, toys for children and convenient and relaxing amenities for adults.

Voici pourquoi l’hĂŽte a choisi cet hĂ©bergement

We got interested in Blue Ridge Georgia when we spent a weekend there and we were enchanted by the small town charm and beautiful scenery. And we loved that it was such a short drive from our home in Atlanta. We purchased this property because of the unique and amazing view of the Toccoa River. Plus it had 3,000 square feet, a rec area, 4 bedrooms and the bunk area - perfect for enjoying time with our grown children, spouses and grandchildren.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Our home has a fabulous view and setting. Our view is unique - two views of the Toccoa River - one a bend upriver and one right below our home plus views of the neighboring ridge across the river. And it's all natural beauty, with only one or two other homes peaking through the foliage on the other side of the river. We're surrounded by oak forest carpeted with native ferns at the end of the road in a private gated community. Our property extends from our home to the middle of the river. There are 177 steps down to the river - the equivalent of going down 14 stories.
