The Space:

A CARLTON TERRACE WHERE EVERY ROOM TELLS A STORY

Some homes are decorated. This one was collected. Step through the door of an 1870 terrace and into the world of yesteryear. Persian rugs worn soft underfoot, a curtained four-poster, gilt-framed art and an original fireplace, a timber sideboard with a past you'll happily invent. High ceilings, painted beams, antiques gathered across decades. Nothing here arrived in a single afternoon, and for a few nights it's all yours.

Then picture the days. Coffee in the courtyard while the fairy lights still glow from the night before. The Melbourne Museum and the lawns of Carlton Gardens directly across the road, close enough to wander over before breakfast. Carlton's cafes, delis and bookshops at the end of the street, Lygon Street's Italian tables a ten-minute stroll, Fitzroy just east. Slow dinners for six in a dining room built for them, then out to the garden as the evening cools. A home with a point of view, in one of the best corners of Melbourne to call your own. It's made for a family to spread out in, two proper bedrooms, a sofa bed for the kids when they come along, and a courtyard they'll make their own.

Other Things to Note:

SAME-DAY BOOKINGS

We have a one-day booking lead time to schedule housekeeping and check-in. We can't always guarantee a 3pm check-in for last-minute bookings, especially where there's a departing guest. Priority is given to guests who've booked in advance.

EARLY CHECK-IN REQUESTS

Looking to start your stay a little earlier? After booking and up to the morning of your arrival, you'll have the option to purchase an early check-in for your nominated time. This is subject to approval and will depend on departing guests. If you definitely need earlier access, consider booking the night before if it's still available.

LATE CHECK-OUT REQUESTS

If you'd like to savour the final moments of your stay, there are options to purchase extended check-outs. This is subject to availability.

PRIVATE SECURITY PATROL

We have a private security company that regularly patrols this property to ensure appropriate guest behaviour.

STARTER SUPPLIES

Heirloom is fully stocked to ensure you have the comforts of home during your stay. This includes toiletries, fresh towels, tea, coffee and kitchen essentials. We also provide a limited number of dishwasher and laundry pods. Starter supplies are provided to get you going and aren't intended to last the duration of your stay. If you run out, our team can point you to nearby stores and delivery services, or you can order additional supplies directly from us.

BABY EQUIPMENT FOR HIRE

For safety and hygiene reasons, we recommend our preferred baby hire companies for all equipment needs during your stay. Please reach out for further information.

LONG STAYS

All stays of 28 nights or more require at least one mid-stay clean per month at an additional cost. This allows our team to periodically clean, maintain and inspect the property. This is non-negotiable. Please contact us to discuss custom arrangements based on your preferred frequency.

POTENTIAL FOR NOISE

Heirloom is in a vibrant inner-city Melbourne neighbourhood. Guests may hear sounds including traffic, construction, first responder sirens or street activity.

Interaction with Guests:

We're available before, during and after your stay. Reach us any time through the messaging app or directly on our concierge line. We value your privacy and are here when you need us, invisible when you don't.
