Unobstructed beach views!



The Space:

Dazzling 4 bedroom 3 bath beach property. Dip Net sits back from the dune line a bit but has alluring beachfront property views. This property comes equipped with 2 kings 2 queens and 4 twin beds. Dip Net is very close to town but far enough away from the crowds that sitting on one of the two decks listening to the birds and the waves would be absolutely enchanting. Under the house you have plenting of sitting area an enclosed sand shower and plenty of space for barbequing and socializing. Linens provided upon request with a fee.

Overall the property was great. There was several maintenance issues that was needed (rusted chains on swings, loss and/or rotted board on the deck/stairs, mold in master shower, doors difficult to open/close, etc. The view was great and the distance to the beach was incredible. It would be nice to have a fire pit but the distance to the beach wasn't too bad for doing a campfire there. It would also be nice to have a bridge to walk to the beach (the one that is there is private property). The only negative on check in was the need for directions, not just the address and instructions for the door since it was awkward for opening/closing. There is a lift there which would be WONDERFUL for loading/unloaded but it isn't available for use. This could have been communicated too so we didn't get our hope up. LOL. Overall, I would go again!!

Summer Vacation 2025

The house itself was very nice, and the view was great. We were very happy with these aspects of the trip. However, there was quite a bit of trash both inside the house and outside in the grass / sink left from the guests before us that we felt obligated to clean up to avoid being "blamed" for it ourselves. It wasn't anything super gross, but we found several beaded necklaces, bracelets, bottles of water, and adult beverage cans that were left behind. In addition to this, the downstairs shower is extremely slippery and has no bath mat. On the day we arrived, I slipped when stepping into the shower and had to go to the emergency room in Winnie. I informed the property manager's office of this issue when I returned the keys.

Maintenance Needed

The property itself was beautiful and was a great walking distance to the beach. The upkeep could be improved. We had burned out light fixtures, couch pillows that had been urinated on by dogs, mouse droppings in the couches, and soiled bed pillows and mattress pads.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is beautifully updated and comfortable! Plenty of space for our group of 8 to spread out or gather for games. This was a Thanksgiving visit and the kitchen was well-stocked. I was glad that I brought my largest pots, a potato masher and pie dishes, though.Beds were comfortable. The younger kids loved the bunkroom! We brought our own linen and towels. I would've liked blackout curtains in the bedrooms. But the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. My parents enjoyed the private balcony from the master bedroom.The TV internet was pretty spotty. We only watched one movie but had plenty of other things to do. Maintenance came right away to get the internet working again.The view was wonderful! The location was the best we've had. We've stayed in 3 other locations and this was our favorite, by far. There is a path in back of the property to take you right onto the beach. Very convenient! We had a blast!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Main floor is in need of an update especially the kitchen. Refrigerator had no shelves on door and freezer was missing shelves and door shelves. This made it difficult to store all of our food for our 7 meals for 7 people.Ice maker was also filthy and did not work! The kitchen was absolutely filthy. Roach droppings and dead roaches, all lower cabinets were heavy dusty with dried food. Everything in lower cabinets and 1 upper cabinet were in disarray. It was horrible. Called Swedes Real Estate about the filth. They apologized and sent a housekeeper. We left to walk the beach and upon our return we saw that absolutely none of the cabinets were touched. We called Swedes again. Once again they apologized and sent cleaner back. The housekeeper had no problem telling us it wasn’t her house and she was almost home when she got the call. We thought that was very unprofessional of her trying to make us feel bad for something that was not our fault. Also, beware... they charge for linens! $120! In all my travels I have never had to pay for linens! Plus, you have to put the sheets on the beds upon arrival! Not cool! Who wants to arrive on vacation and have to put linens on 8 beds?!

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not sure where to begin. The main thing above being dirty was the DANGER of the railing on the deck. LOOSE BOARDS that my 2 year old granddaughter could have easily fell through! To make this simpler to read I am going to list the things wrong with this rental:1. Railing is dangerous2. Poop on deck and porches3. Yard not mowed4. Screens broke and cut into5. Air vent was beyond dirty6. Food stuck on kitchen faucet 7. Kitchen table dirty8. Couches and furniture had hair on them. (Dog and human)9. Stains on comforter. ( they have you make up the beds without any sheets before you leave so that tells you they aren’t washed!!)10. Sink leaking onto the floor and other one stopped up. (Master bath)11. No water pressure in showers12. Refrigerator has missing shelves13. Not able to use the lift14. Thermostat kept adjusting itself to keep temp up so we had to keep lowering it to stay cool.15. Roaches under our clothes the morning we left This home is possibly being spot cleaned only ..... for sure not deep cleaned. I had to clean it when we arrived. It’s a true shame because this is a beautiful home and views and close access to the beach are awesome, but don’t be fooled. I am trying to save someone $595 a night ! Look further for your house. Also, do not be fooled on any of the houses reviews on Swedes because they look good. However look on VRBO etc. Had I have seen those first I would not have booked. It looked good on Swedes. Swedes has been fine in the past but this was unacceptable. After all of this being told to them I was offered NOTHING!! No discount, etc!! I was asked for pictures. You didn’t need picts for most of this. Just a drive over there would prove it!

Home Away From Home!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at Dip Net...the crows nest balcony off the master wasa perfect spot to watch the sunset and the beach activity. Super convenient access to beach (on 4 wheelers and golf cart). The layout of the house was exactly right for our guests. The storage closet under the house is full of beach floaties and toys, keep that in mind if you want to save room. Clearly visitors donate their leftovers (charcoal, lighter fluid, beach toys, etc) to the house (we did!) The linen service was awesome! I made 9 family style meals during our stay and the only thing I would recommend is another large stock pot or two..there was only 1. Decor was sweet, streaming was easy, Valero was close by for ice, drinks, etc. I have stayed at several propertieson Bolivar and I would definitely stay here with my gang again.

Nice, But Not What We Booked, Last Minute Relocation by Swede's

Reviewer Comments: We reserved Happily Ever After. 3 hrs into a 4 hrs drive to OUR beach destination, Swede's called to say due to an "unfortunate accident" resulting in damage at Happily Ever After, we were being relocated to Dip Net, assured me we would be pleasantly surprised, it was a free upgrade with an extra bedroom/bathroom. I asked if the location to the beach was comparable to our original rental, she hesitantly said, "just about the same", and then asked if we brought our golf cart.... no mam, there shouldn't have been a need. Our original house was selected on LOCATION first, bed arrangement next. It was literally on the sand, the corner of the beach & access road, no grass between. Dip Net was a very nice house in a good location, but it did not meet our needs and location DID NOT compare to Happily Ever After. We were a party of 6, most aged mid 60 range, with ailments (bad knees, shoulder surgery, ankle surgery, crippling arthritis, & degenerative discs) which made walking/carrying beach equipment long distances very inconvenient and painful. (LOCATION was #1 on our priority list) The extra bedroom/bathroom was an UPSTAIRS BUNK ROOM with attached bath. Needless to say, it wasn't useful to our party. There was no beach access, had to walk down the street, up the beach access road, & back down the beach to be in front of our house. We tried to use the walk over next door (the house was unoccupied), but there were security cameras and a recording informing we were under surveillance, no trespassing, only guests of said neighboring house were authorized to use it. We looked into renting a golf cart but opted no since it was hundreds of dollars a day. We were just a few houses away from our original rental, drove past twice a day, no obvious damage, must've been inside. It's twin house Once Upon A Time was right next door and unoccupied during our stay. THAT would have been a comparable relocation spot. We made the best of things but were disappointed.

Great view

Other than my youngest child being bitten by ants the first night when she went to bed it was an amazing stay and would come back again. The ladys who check you in and out were super nice. Nice view and easy access to the beach. Close to food but far enough away from all the crazy.

Not Completely Satisfied

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view was awesome. Loved the fenced in yard. The ice maker didn’t work. The cabinets and drawers were a hot mess, I organized most of it before I left. There were dirty items in the cabinets. The commode had at least an inch and a half of black crud around the rim. The floors were dirty. Several steps outside are very loose and dangerous. Several lightbulbs were out. Some of the cookware was in pretty bad shape. I definitely left it cleaner than I found it. For the price I paid it should have been immaculate and in great working condition. I also had to clean both vacuum cleaner brushes from a ton of hair. The upstairs one still would not work or pick up anything and I had to haul the downstairs one up stairs to get the floors clean.

Needed a break!

The house was beautiful and looked better than the pictures. Linens had to be requested with a charge. We had to make the beds ourselves. There are 2 king size bedrooms and a bedroom with 2 queen size beds in the same room. The bunk room was bigger than the pictures had shown. The bunk room had its own bathroom and the master bedroom has an ensuite. The 2 rooms downstairs share a bathroom. Great views from the decks. Loved our stay!
