In September of 2020, the Paddle House, first and foremost, became our families "home away from home." When we aren't enjoying its peace and beauty, we would love for you to be our guests! Paddle House is a 3,000 square foot luxury vacation home within the Wild Rock development on the rim of The New River Gorge. Paddle House offers families and friends the highest-end lodging option available in the New River Gorge region. The vacation rental offers breathtaking views of the New River Gorge, including the famously photographed New River Gorge Bridge and the river far below. Guests will enjoy first-class accommodations in a four bedroom, four bath, vacation rental. The open design of the kitchen, dining room, and great room is a perfect space for reunions, corporate gatherings, or special events. The spacious dining room seats up to 14 guests. The two outdoor decks offer breathtaking views of the mountains across the New River Gorge, a relaxing hot tub or a cozy place to relax in the woods. The Paddle House is located within a 5-minute walk of Adventures on the Gorge, the premier adventure outfitter in West Virginia.

We rented this home for a family wedding and it was a wonderful choice. This house is located right on walking trails with view of the Bridge. The view is beautiful! Well stocked with everything we needed. It was roomy, clean and comfortable. Great seating inside and on a beautiful deck. We will definitely rent again.

We’ve stayed at the Paddlehouse probably 8-10 times over the years. It is a beautiful home. Kitchen is well stocked, lots of dining space and out door amenities. Love it!!

The Paddle House

The Paddle House was a great property and perfect for our families whitewater rafting trip to the New River Gorge. We highly recommend staying here! It was close to all activities but you felt like it was a private getaway!

Beautiful place!

The house was very clean and inviting. Loved the remote start fireplace and the warming towel racks in the bathrooms. But most of all the view... it was breathtaking. Will definitely be staying again next fall.

Perfect Getaway

This house is perfect for a family/friends getaway. The house is well stocked with anything you might need. Touches like nice towels, rockers by the fireplace, quiet area and plenty of seating (and a second dining table percent for puzzles/games) made our trip easy. The house was immaculate. I would definitely recommend!

5 Star, a comfortable home away from home with a breath taking view

The house is roomy, well designed and uses top of the line material. The location, on the rim of the New River Gorge, is secluded, perfect for an intimate gatherings. The Paddle House is just a 5 minute walk to one of the world class outfitters, Adventures On The Gorge for those looking for adventure activities, entertainment or a delicious dinner. Our group enjoyed sitting around the fire ring and watching the moon rise above the New River and the New River Gorge Bridge. This is the best choice for a high end get away in the Fayette County area.

Fantastic house and location but lacking in upkeep.

Three families traveled to the Paddle House go enjoy a holiday reunion. While the house was large, with a well stocked kitchen and great views, we did experience a few maintenance and housekeeping issues. The house was dusty and looked as if it hadn’t been vacuumed or swept in awhile. There were no extra garbage bags or toilet paper and we had to call the main office twice in order to receive additional items. The biggest issue however was the lack of hot water in the downstairs bathroom. There was none! We called the main office again and they said they would send someone from maintenance to look at the hot water heater. If someone was sent, we were never told, and the issue was never fixed. Overall, for the amount of money we spent, I expected at least a clean house with basic supplies and hot water. We would consider staying there again if these issues were addressed because it really is a beautiful home in a great area of West Virginia.

Wonderful property! Clean, well stocked, close to activities, and friendly staff when we couldn’t get the hot tub to heat up. They took care of that very quickly. Highly recommend this property!

Outstanding Attention to Detail

We operated at short term vacation rental for years and have stayed at numerous such places. The owners of the Paddle House have thought of everything a guest could possibly want and have done so in such an upscale manner. We thoroughly recommend staying here!!!

Fantastic!

We were looking for a place to have a family reunion and this was the perfect place. There are plenty of activities - rafting, zip-lining, hiking - all within five minutes of the house. Since restaurants were not open - we wanted a place with a great kitchen. The Paddle House did not disappoint. Also, communication with the owner was great. He gave us pointers on hikes to take and activities to go on. We were able to contact him easily when we had a small issue with the bathroom - and it was resolved immediately. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

amazing stay and hope to return

I had never rented a cabin or house and this was my first experience. It was a piece of cake and I at moments thought that I was doing something wrong because it was so simple but it worked out amazing. The house is awesome and the views are magnificent. I was blown away by the house when I first walked in. The pictures honestly do not do it justice. The rooms are big and cozy, the living room is ample for any get together, the sound system around the house was clear and quite reaching. The hot tub really allowed us to relax. The house is far enough to feel like you are actually out in the wilderness but close enough to any comforts to not be worried of anything being out of your reach from restaurants to stores. We rented this cabin to go skiing in Winterplace and although it is about an hours drive away, we would do it and plan on coming back next winter. I would easily recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away for a bit. Hopefully I will be back next year!
